The Beastie Boys Story rollout is in full swing. Ahead of its theatrical release next month, Apple TV + has shared the first official trailer for the Spike Jonze-directed documentary.
The clip begins with old footage of Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz rapping “Paul Revere” acapella style while Michael “Mike D” Diamond and the late Adam “MCA” Yauch look on. The trailer then jumps to more current times with a shot of the words “Beastie Boys Story” on a marquee. From there, a barrage of archival video clips are sprinkled throughout for the remainder of the visual.
Inspired by the Beastie Boys Book, the film is produced by Grammy Award-winner Jason Baum, Amanda Adelson and Jonze and executive produced by Mike D, Ad-Rock, Dechen Wangdu-Yauch, John Silva, John Cutcliffe, Peter Smith, Thomas Benski, Dan Bowen, Sam Bridger, Michele Anthony, David Blackman and Ashley Newton.
Beastie Boys Story arrives in IMAX theaters on April 2 and on Apple TV+ on April 24. IMAX Experience tickets are available here.

RIP, but they are the most overrated group in the history of hip hop.
Do you know how many Beastie Boys samples were used in late 80’s~early 90’s hip hop? You might not. They are one the most UNDERRATED group in the history of hip hop. And your mention is a clear example.
If my mention is a clear example of them being underrated then yours could be of them being overrated? They are not underrated. If you think they don’t receive a lot of praise you must live in a bubble. They were sampled a lot because they, themselves sampled everything. Their music is garbage. All they did was yell on the mic.
Three culture vultures in the photo.
