As Lil Wayne fans continue to patiently wait on Tha Carter V, Weezy has something to momentarily appease his audience. On Wednesday (December 6), Wayne took to Instagram to announce Dedication 6 with DJ Drama will arrive on Christmas Day. He also shared the red, white and black cover art, which features a caricature of Wayne and delivers the same aesthetic as the previous five Dedication projects.
The caption reads, “It’s time! Sign up for updates and music before drop date! To My fans, I do this for y’all! #D6 MERRY CHRISTMAS.”
Drama teased the project in August during an interview with Rolling Out, assuring fans it was coming. Many of his fans were hoping for a late November release after Wayne wrote in an Instagram post, “Happy Thanksgiving! I’m so thankful for all my fans for standing by me while I’m enduring this fight with this label. I ain’t shit without y’all! D6 is coming y’all way soon! Thank You.”
The duo kicked off the series in 2005 with The Dedication, but it’s been four years since we got the last edition —Dedication 5 was released in 2013, just a year after Dedication 4.
There’s still no official release date for Tha Carter V but Wayne claims he can “release it at will.”

I’m trying to school you lil kids. Rap is like smooth jazz. Smooth jazz is played 24-7 like rap but it’s not better than real jazz. Corporations want smoothed out black music instead of the real. You can look at rock n roll and black rock too. Rock n roll is the watered down version of black rock. Nobody plays black rock anymore just like hip-hop music. The weakest genre always sell more because the biggest audience is non black. Rap is weak like smooth jazz and rock n roll so it sells the most. Lil wayne has prove NOTHING. The last two decades is filled with wack rappers. 99% of the rappers on the radio have no talent including lil Wayne. The radio doesn’t play hip hop music anymore.
