Bun B Says The Posthumous Pimp C EP Is “Coming Along Very Well”

The posthumous Pimp C project is happening.

Late last year, the UGK rapper’s wife, Chinara Butler, released a statement declaring that she and Juicy J were rounding up songs for a legacy album.

Butler also mentioned at the time that Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, Mike Will Made-It, E-40, Too Short, Warren G, Chris Brown, Rick Ross and more artists will be featured.

Pimp C’s longtime collaborator and fellow UGK affiliate, Bun B, will also be on the EP. Bun recently stopped by XXL Magazine, where he gave an update on the untitled upcoming EP.

I’m consulting them [Juicy J, Chinara Butler],” Bun says of his role in developing the album. “They come by me and just ask, ‘Do you think this is right?’ But for the most part I’m not involved with the day-to-day aspects of the album. The album is a real project… But it’s a very real project and is coming along very well.”

Bun explained that because his partner was a “very prolific writer and recorder” Chinara is able to choose from a variety of previously recorded tracks.

“He spent the majority of his time, waking hours, in the studio,” Bun said. “So, there was work available for her. There were songs released that she was able to gather and songs he’s done with other artists that weren’t released that came back to the estate.”

In addition to overseeing Pimp C’s EP, Bun revealed that he is currently prepping his own compilation album titled Back To The Basics.

    1. N.O. Joe Has/Have a good bit of input in the production But doesn’t get name? Man y’all some haters for real. That shit gon be delicate without that Gumbo Funk that Pimp C referred to when he was living…get y’all shit together AND DO IT HOW PIMPC WOULD’VE DID IT IF HE WAS HERE!!!!

    2. Tell me N.O. Joe is on this project. If not, then I’m sorry to say that these ungrateful ass niggas have ruined a legacy. Sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me. These rappers never give credit where it’s due and always try to take spotlight. Give the man his damn credit!! The project has no authenticity without that funk we as fans are used to hearing Pimp C over! I agree with the last guy smh
