In an Instagram post uploaded to his account earlier this week, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rapper Freeway quickly shot down rumors of fellow lyricist Beanie Sigel’s death.
It appears that the rumor of Sigel’s death may have spread through the “completely fictional,” satire site NahaDaily.com.
In addition to a picture of Beans, Freeway left the following caption with his Instagram upload: “Don’t listen to the rumors @beaniesigelsp is alive & fighting! Please keep him in your Duas thank you!!”
Philadelphia’s NBC 10 also confirmed that rumors of Sigel’s death were a hoax. According to the news station, Pleasantville Police Chief Jose Ruiz verified that the rapper remained hospitalized on Christmas Day.
At the top of this month, Sigel was shot in the torso following an altercation at a home in Pleasantville, New Jersey. Days after the shooting it was reported that the Philly lyricist was in critical, but stable condition.
Authorities have yet to name a suspect, but do have several persons of interest in mind, reports NBC 10.
