HipHopDX Premiere: Runway Richy has nabbed the superstar powers of Gucci Mane for his new seven-minute short film, “Switchin Sides,” which is intended to tell the story of a friend getting called out for “switching sides” on his crew. While the song came together organically in the studio, the Philly Fly Boy-directed video was a little more chaotic. He teased the video on Instgram last week.

“This was one of those crazy ass weeks that I had to really hustle, but it was all worth it in the end,” Richy tells HipHopDX. “I was in Texas to perform at SXSW when on a Tuesday, Gucci hits me up and says we have to shoot the video that Friday. So, I call Philly Fly Boy and he hooked me up with a treatment in just a few hours. Then that Thursday night, I headlined a show and rushed back to Atlanta for the ‘Switchin Sides’ video. We shot all day on Friday then I had to fly right back to Austin for the rest of my SXSW shows. It was crazy hectic, but Gucci was cool as hell on set and of course we talked about everything Decatur [Georgia] related [laughed]. I was just stoked that he really loved the record.”

Featuring giant boa constrictors, guns, a robbery and plenty of debauchery, the new visual is entirely entertaining, and indicative of what’s next for Richy.
