Angie Martinez collaborates with Jay-Z for "Mi Amor," her first single back in 2001.

This "Voice of New York" is off to big, new things but let us throw it back to the old and look at one of her singles from 2001. "Mi Amor" featuring Jay-Z, produced by Rockwilder, is a kinky love song with Angie Martinez incorporating her Spanish side. The track is off of her first studio album Up Close and Personal which features other popular singles "Dem Thangz" and "Coast 2 Coast (Suavemente)." Take a listen to this old school throwback and remind yourself how you say my love in Spanish.

One of those "You had to be present in the moment" type of tracks. New generation probably won't care about it. But at the time it came out I was in high school and Jay-Z had the dopest flow and lyrics on the planet. He dominated radio and MTV Jams. Nowadays he dumbed down his flow to connect with today's younger generation and/or those who need things slooooooooooooooowed down in order to comprehend. But in any event, Angie did the best a radio personality could on a track without sound corny, which is why I give it a 4 out of 5 stars even in 2014.
