Angie Martinez, who resigned from New York radio station Hot 97, is set to join the Power 105.1 team, according to MTV.
The site cites Clear Channel as the source for the story, saying that it has been confirmed. Martinez is also set to air her Power 105 show on 103.5 in Miami. She’s slated to host an afternoon show from 2-6pm in New York.
Martinez shared the following in a caption to an Instagram post announcing her resignation: “Today I resigned from HOT97. I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life. We made history together in so many ways and I will cherish those memories and my friendships forever. This was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways. Saying goodbye is always emotional and bitter sweet but I am extremely excited about the future. Thank you HOT97 and most importantly….the listeners… for an unimaginable journey. Today will be my last show stay tuned…. Love, angie.”
In April, Martinez described her work with Hot 97.

“I’ve been working in this building since I’m 18,” she said at the time. “I started here as—I wasn’t really an intern because I was getting paid. I think I was getting paid $3 an hour. I was driving the vans. I learned how to run the boards so then I started board-opping. I was the assistant to almost every department at some point. I worked my way out. My thinking was I wanted to be a Program Director. So in order to be a Program Director I was going to learn every piece of the building. But then it just turned out that I kind of fell in love with being on-air. Now you couldn’t pay me enough money to be a Program Director because that part of the job is so much more fun.”
