    1. Besides the obvious loss of biggy and 2pac. Big L passing away (who had a verbal agreement to with the Roc just before he died) and Jay-z breaking up Roccafella (when NY lost grip of the rap industry). Real MC’s would have never died in the main stream aspect. There are recent artist that are at the high talent level (not big L level but the closes) today, Skyzoo/REKS/ Termanology/ Torae to name a couple that come to mind, but they will never get the play they deserve to put them on the main stage where everyone knows their music instead of only people who are big hip hop heads. Rap turned into the WWE a long time ago where it’s all about how great of character/ image you can sell and your talent is magnified . That’s why Jay will never have “true competition” recognized in his time.

Big L- can’t be a better lyricist than him , great story teller, untouchable punchlines, oh and the flow is pretty nice too.
