Great song. Queue the sell out comments from fake head who were to busy in Ruff Ryders era back in the day to buy their album when they made “real hip hop…”
“After the departure of their only female member Fergie some time back, many thought this would surely bring the demise of the group entirely. ”
Uhhh….. they were a group with two albums before Fergie. Actually, they had two dope albums before Fergie. She made them a pop group. He departure is a good thing.
I still don’t know why they got Fergie anyway,THATT WATERDOWNPOPSOUND HURT MY EARS,GLAD THEY WENT BACK TO BASICS.STAY FOCUS AND NEVER GO BACK TO THAT WHITEWASHED SOUND.Been Bangin though the windshield wit this REAL HIP HOP.
Hate Fergie all you want, but when they elisted her into the group and changed their sound, they got worldwide acclaim. I’m not mad at them for that, and I’m not mad at the Peas for abandoning that sound for this new album.
Hip hop doesn’t have to sound one way. Hip hop “heads” think every song should be boom bap or dusty jazz samples. Granted, the peas knew damm well they we’re aiming for that “globalist” (aka crossover/casual) audience with Fergie on board. That Justin Timberlake collaboration was worst than anything I’ve heard with Fergie alone. Now with no Fergie, they’re “back to hip hop”. Fire song tho. Will I Am is talented on the boards, I will give him that. Peace
When Jimmy Iovine heard and saw Fergie he told them to form a label and sign her…that led to worldwide appeal and retirement funds for generations to come. Hip hop only pays for a fraction of the industry. I don’t blame them for any of their mo
