My God HHDX yall taking me back today!! Loved the Bone article and now you have Prince and MJac rivalry. I remember as a kid me and my homies used to argue over who is better. Justin Hunte keep them coming!!
I dont think thats a mix for them to collab. Mike was more Peter Panish with his music. Prince was more funky. i also never realized the song said your butt is mine.lol. nice article. i would like to see you guys do a blog on artist who pad their numbers to succeed. and actually fool people into getting behind them like the rapper Futuristic. he has a million followers on Facebook. more than Bryson Tiller yet Bryson is going platinum. Futuristic has videos with millions of views. he obviously has fans now but alot of the stuff is fake and is really bots. alot of artist nowadays like famous dex are seriously padding their numbers its like fool the people into believing your really big. I mean Futuristic his videos got more than the new e-40 choices which went gold and Futuristic is not near moving the units like that. if you look at his streaming numbers they dont add up. he even opened up on tour for a guy with less than a hundred thousand. I wish the blogs would expose alot of todays fake it until you make it emcees. and Shine a light on the real emcess . Futuristic is not a better emcee than Sincerely Collins or several others in Phoenix. someone on his team obviously knows how to code, program fake stuff on Facebook and Youtube. click on alot of the likes on his facebook notice the bots.lol and the kid is arrogant
Futuristic can rap. Plus his rapping old guy campaign was dope. Collins got one of the best projects of the year. Bootleg Kev’s pushing his album. Arizona’s looking dope right now. That’s something to be happy about.
Prince actually did work with Kendrick Lamar for a live Jam Session. It was a pretty do video/performance. It was like a freestyle session where they pretty much made up songs live on the spot. The link is below.
Im not buying Mike wanted Prince on I’m Bad that doesn’t make any sense. I think Prince prob was competing with Mike and it was a one way competition. I always felt like Prince was a little jealous of Mike, even tho he was just as dope especially musically, not so much performance wise.
I was in a conversation yesterday with someone super knowledgeable about these guys. He pointed out how both grew up in the shadow of Jim Crow and mastered reinvention while creating a racially agnostic image. It was an interesting thought. Prince plays so many instruments, he’s super dynamic, super competitive. Michael seems to be same but more playful, like Peter Pan. Prince is like Garfield.
Uh….Somebody did not do their homework on this subject. Prince DID work with K.Dot. Kendrick not only did an unreleased remix with Prince, but he actually performed on stage with Prince live. The footage is available online. Shit, it’s on Worldstar!! & when it comes to “Camille”…….never mind. It’s apparent that ya’ll don’t really know shit about Prince, except “Purple Rain”, “1999”, & “Kiss”. smmfh.
Kdot jumped on a track of a song yes, but Prince has never let anyone else produce for him. So the question is not which artist have paid homage or provided a verse. Instead, that Michael actually let people produce for him like Floetry. No question Prince is a genius but with him having inspired Kanye, 3Stacks etc a true collab may have pushed his music more forward.
I can see Prince throwing tantrums talking abt mj like that mf aint got nothing on me bugging out in the studio making some classic stuff and I can someone asking Mj about Prince and him saying I like Prince he’s funny (MJ Voice) lol
They could have never been friends, personalities don’t match. Prince seemed more serious and prob wanted to be center of attention all the time. Michael seemed like the type of dude that would play a prank on your grandma.
I stand behind MJ. I think most people tend to forget Michael was not ONLY a singer and a performer, but he too produced & was hands on every production and mixing of his track. Also, he played several instruments. As for some saying Michael’s music was ‘Peter Panish’, to me that sounds like you’re saying his music was childish, but i gotta tell you.. Michael had that funk in his music too, and made some music about very very serious matters. Even more so than Prince i can bet. Just forget about songs like Bad, Beat It, Billie Jean and all those single songs, because besides that Michael has some AMAZING body of work that showcases his versatillity in sound and lyrics. Only if more people would try to really listen to the real music Michael left behind, far beyond the popular single songs.
michael jackson was never a gifted musician he could play a few simple things but thats it, also he didn’t write and produce alot of his music…he was a great entertainer, a revolutionary one at that with a huge message a fantastic vocal range, and an incredible soul…he was a beautiful person…Prince on the other hand was a incredible MULTI-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter for himself as well as others but as my man said before me, tended to be inspired my woman, being in love, heartbreak, sex etc… his soul came out thru his all round ability … both are amazing artists and iconic but if you are going to act like you know shit do your research…you reaching with your comments.
Quincy Jones and Prince both have confirmed that it was supposed to be a duet, but Prince passed on it. They actually were cool with each other and respected each other professionally, but these 2 cats occupied 2 opposite ends of the spectrum. Prince was raw and all about sex and Mike was not. Prince was more of a Stevie Wonder in his range of what he could do musically, which means everything, and Mike was more of a traditional singer/songwriter. But they did overlap and hung out on occassion, but I doubt anybody would be hanging out with somebody that they don’t have anything in common with, which by all accounts Prince’s interest was pussy, pussy, and more of it and Mike’s obviously was not.

“Art Official Age” & “Hit n’ Run Vol.1” [two recent albums Prince released] were produced & co-produced by Joshua Welton. Truth be told, Prince really did what he wanted. He didn’t have to have other do his music like that. He wanted total control over his work. It is what it is.

Prince >>>>>>>>>>> Michael
You aren’t the only one waiting on Lu and Nas to rock together, Justin.
Can they hurry up and get that together. I just feel like it’s impossible they don’t have a track together.

Still can’t believe the big homie is dead. RIP to Prince.
