Actually, in today’s America, a whole lot has changed for the masses who were labeled 3/5 of a person in The Constitution. Predictable song though, keep pushing that false narrative.
The “Hands up, don’t shoot” narrative, which is based on the Michael Brown incident, is proven false. Around 170 black men have died at the hands of police in the USA in 2015. During the same time frame there were 480 homicides in Chicago alone. Now start adding up the homicides of young black men found in other urban centres across the country in 2015. These numbers completely dwarf the numbers of black males killed by police. When rappers speak out against gangs and drugs, they might be taken more seriously when they say things like “black lives matter”. However, I don’t expect this narrative to change. People enjoy their cognitive dissonance.
