    1. Rap has some newcomers I am impressed with since I have been listening to rap since 1985. Kendrick Lamar,Schoolboy Q to name a few the rest is just beats and foolery

    2. well it comes a time where u could mess with each other but messing with his money that’s where it ended regardless if he did smack him on the lips

    3. Asap kept it 100, a bunch of street hustlas that don’t care about the music as an art form makes for a lot of garbage music. Make me wonder were/are as careless and undisciplined about how they go about their street business.

      1. Can you make the same argument that suburban internet celebrities don’t care about the music as an art form? I don’t think of this as something that’s unique to one segmentation. Everyone’s looking to eat off Hip Hop. Everyone’s looking to be a celebrity. It’s a by-product of everyone being their own personal walking scoreboard. How many Twitter followers you got? Who was the first person to treat you differently in real life because had a certain number of Instagram Likes. Sign of the times. Thanks for the comment, stfuulgnants.

    4. pretty much a laughing stock…i cant even get into rap anymmore cause it’s the same shit over and fucking over…there’s a good couple of that do come out every now and then but thats about it…i miss the hardcore diss tracks, and other shit man, now we just have all the asaps and others who create this whack ass shit that say’s like 10 words in a verse then the chorus…like the song called “smooth operator”…soon as i heard that fucker start rap’n i turned that shit off and threw the cd out my car…hip hop is weak…i’m staying with underground music

    5. THIS POST IS MAD CORNY …JUSTIN YOU PLAYING U SELF(ROCK KEPT IT FUNKY)U SOUND JUST AS RETARDED AS HE SOUND …WHAT DOES A$AP KNOW ABOUT THE STATE OF RAP HOW LONG HAS THIS DUDE BEEN ON ..AS A MATTER A FACT HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN ON THE PLANET?
IM A GROWN ASS MAN ..WTF DID HE(A$AP) SAY???
      DEAF DUMB AND BLIND

      1. Thank you for the comment, ODB, and for checking the piece. A$AP Mob’s been sounding off on what they don’t like about the industry all year. Yamz called it the worst year in rap ever at one point. Whether you agree or disagree, anyone speaking their mind without regard to backlash is keeping it funky in my book. Personally, I tend to disagree. I fall more in the Rap Is Wild Over Crowded category; The Everyone’s Tryna Be A Celebrity And Rap Is The Music Of Our Generation category. Thanks again, ODB.

    6. the entire entertainment industry has fallen these devils who control this game ruin it ,if any artist out here should go independent and keep your man hood intact, they took hiphop and put these men in skirts and make up painted finger nails and if they don’t play by the rules you are out! The devil rule is over and those who stay with him shall DIE with him good riddance !

    7. ahaha…lil wayne somewhere thinking….”Is this what 50 went through with Iovine?” …… Independence niggas!!! wake up…stop being corporate slaves to these record companies…weezy, you big enough to go indie but ur not 50..

      1. Here’s something that I’ve been obsessed with thinking about lately: How successful is Aftermath and Shady and Interscope had 50 Cent never dropped Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ with them? Em looked like he was plateauing around Eminem Show. Game definitely doesn’t happen. How many albums do they not sell and as a result, how big is the legacy? Does 50 deserve MORE credit? Nevertheless, with Tip announcing Wayne joined the Zulu Nation, I’m sure getting through his contract (or out of it) is absolutely at the forefront of his mind. It’ll be fun to see what happens. Thanks for the comment, Wolf.

    8. funny how Baby never pays anyone who has “contracts” with Cash Money but wants Wayne to honor his….

never should’ve resigned with them from the jump!

wayne should just retire and let baby eat those apples, then record under a psuedo name and release that.

      1. Anyone who ever signs to Cash Money should know the deal at this point. Just about every one of Juve’s or Mannie’s or BG’s complaints have been reiterated by Tunechi at this point. Birdman’s business practices ain’t changed in 17 years. Drake, Nicki, Young Thug, whoever… will be singing the same song at some point. And in Drake’s case, singing the same song again. Thanks for checking the piece, roosters.

    9. Its all irrelevant..i wanna know why these dudes gotta kiss?! You cant go homo then say no homo when clearly its homo.. js

    10. Don’t really bang with Rocky like that but he said some real shit in there. [A track like Bad Bitches doesn’t help but I’ll move on] “Laughing stock” is a good way to put it because I know white people that only listen to trap shit and ignorant shit because “it’s ridiculous.” That’s their words, “it’s ridiculous.” They only listen to it because they can laugh at it and of course, it’s easy to laugh at black people willingly making a fool of themselves. It’s like Peter Bailey of the NiteCap said, “they dancing to our pain.”

That shit crazy that that’s what we letting our music come to. I say it all the time: if we keep down this path where these non-musical dudes can cover up shitty, destructive lyrics over a dope beat, then our music is gonna be one big corporate joke. They don’t hear me though.
