    1. “HOT!” New Single! From the Ep “Us Against Them” A-Alikes. You gotta get 2 copies! REAl Hip-Hop!

    2. Good to see someone remember Dead Prez. I’m feeling this new positive energy movement Stic got going on. This song itself delivered really well!

    3. Man.. On the one hand, I’m a big dead prez fan. (Never listened to alot of A-Alikes, but I’m aware of them and I know they talk about the same stuff as dead prez.) Political awareness is important and all that good stuff..

But this song just sounds like more complaining and no planning! Don’t get me wrong,”Let’s Get Free” is my favorite album to this day! And I listen to all of dead prez music everyday. I been thru the struggle of unemployment, being homeless and living in the hood.

But I also realized that I am responsible for my life, so I buckled down and did what I had to in order to become independent and self-sufficient WITHOUT becoming another statistic!

dead prez, and stic.man in particular, were headed in the right direction with their evolution towards a more introspective, self-critical style of music, as exemplified on stic’s solo album “Manhood”.

But don’t go backwards, move forwards! Less complaining, MORE PLANNING!! We can not change things unless we change ourselves! We should have the mentality that this system WILL NOT hold us down, and don’t be so quick to feel defeated!

Like 2pac said: “I got advice from my father, all he told me was this: Nigga, GET OFF YO ASS IF YOU PLAN TO BE RICH”!!

      1. Good music right chea. It’s not all ‘complaining’ though, man. Political awareness is KEY. A lot of the power the elite movers and shakers have is given to them by our ignorance and apathy on the issues.

        Tupac also said,

“I may not be able to change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the mind that will change the world.”

That’s what this kind of music is. It’s to inspire others to make the change. This is testimony straight from the streets.

“Might not be good news, but it sho’ nuff’ is HOOD news.

      2. i feel what you saying about the “complaining” i dont see it as such – i know what you mean to. a-alikes got more music that is solution oriented. like if you look up their song “no saviour’ – that is about self empowerment. this is just one song from one aspect where dudes are talking about their life’s struggles. it aint all that tho.

      3. Complaining? If you really Listen they are pointing out a problem, M-1 is pointing the figure at us. It is us as a people need to come up with solution and that starts with Unity.

      4. Damn chill out yall. I said I relate to the struggle, and I fucks with dead prez and A-Alikes too, due to the association of like-minds. But yall sound offended by that word “COMPLAINING”.. Let me quote a dead prez song where stic.man himself uses that word “COMPLAINING”, and the whole song itself is about this very topic.

“Get Yo Hustle Up” (by stic.man, from his album “Manhood”).

        [chorus]

I’m on my job hater, I’m getting bank
And I don’t give a fuck what you think

I got my mind right, I got my game tight
I got my hustle up, instead of hating on me, HUSTLE UP!

        [verse 1]

Can’t make no bread in the bed, can’t get rich on the sofa
Like a soldier I’m focused, I’m trying to get it like Oprah

Now don’t be getting it twisted, it’s just a part of my culture
If we don’t handle our business, then who gone handle it for us?

I gotta link with this lawyer, I gotta build with my broker
Aint got no time for you haters, check back in October

Yeah them niggas done changed, they done stepped up they game
But the message the same, it’s still Black Power mane.. tell me

How can I call myself a Black Power spokesman?
With no game plan and always broke man?

G, I’m trying to see power in my lifespan
But these crabs in the bucket is worse than the white man

        [verse 2]

Let me show you how I’m on it, gangsta and conscious
I aint scared of change, it’s the only thing constant

I’m hip to you internet haters
Love to see a nigga broke COMPLAINING
Hate to see him getting paper

But it’s a brand new day on the plantation
And we can’t live broke, so we paper chasing

I know money can’t fix our whole situation
But in the mean time til we get liberation..

        It’s M.O.B., money over bitches
Where do I be? I be handling my business

Time is money, that’s the code of the streets
You don’t grind, you don’t shine
You don’t work, you don’t eat

Motivation to get money, gotta take care my fam
You haters can keep hating what you don’t understand

It’s not that I believe in the American dream
I just know it take paper to make it at anything, tell me

How can you call yourself a Black Power spokesman?
If you aint taking care of yours at home man?

I’m suppose to be on my grind, I’m a grown man
I’m Bossin Up, Black Independent, Cmon man!!
