The future of Atlanta Hip-Hop has found its soul. If you grew up in Atlanta, whether it be College Park, Decatur, or Bankhead in the 80s and 90s then you know all to well of that signature, soulful sound our Hip-Hop added to the culture. Groups like OutKast and the conglomerate known as The Dungeon Family, led the way and influenced us in a manner that is still embedded in our DNA. Fast forward to 2014, Scotty ATL and the Cool Club have taken the reigns of Atlanta Hip-Hop and revived a sound that the game has been missing for years. The first time I heard Scotty was on his now critically acclaimed F.A.I.T.H mixtape/album, and from the very first track I knew Scotty was next up. The first time you hear him say, Forever Atlanta In The Heart, you know there is something special about what you are listening to. It did something to me, it took me back, it took me to a place I hadnt been to since I first heard Andre and Big Boi rap southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. I recently caught Scottys performance while on his Spaghetti Junction tour. The only word I can use to describe it is Damn!. Ive been to my share of concerts, from Lil Wayne performing at MaMas Prime Time, to Jay Z at Philips Arena, and being honest this tour was hands down one of my favorites. Every MC that hit the stage was amazing. But when Scotty hit the stage and did his thing, it confirmed everything that I thought Atlanta is back!
