728 thoughts on “Nas f. Rick Ross – It’s a Tower Heist [Prod. Salaam Remi]

    1. Why is Nas getting on a track with this waist? 1 star cuz the Bawse 1 of the wackest niggas in hip hop history.

    2. FUCK MAN, HE SHOULD HAVE ASKED HIS NIGGA AZ OR JAY Z OR KOOL G RAP TO BE ON THIS TRACK, WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE PUT ROSS AKA THE FORMER C.O ON HIS RECORD?

      1. LMAO!!! Young Cheezy???!!! ARe you fucking serious???!!! Oh shit, you just cracked me up homie! In the words of young cheezy, “yeeeeeeaaaaaaaah….right”

    3. this is dope! i can tell Nas is inspired and ready to get back in the game with some fresh new music. ross went in too. dope.

    4. I’ll rate it a 2:Not a good song:Nas was average and Ross was trash as usual:Beat was nice:

Is this off of the “Life Is Good” LP?Hope not but still good to hear Nas on these types of beats:Refreshing to hear ACTUAL lyrics pasted to some dope beats:

      2/5

    5. Another dope track from Nasir. Ross had a good verse too.

Btw, I wonder what the Salaam haters have to say about this beat now. They can’t front on this one.

    6. Damn NaS is fucking lost. All this hype about working with Preem, AZ, Pete Rock, and Alchemist again, and he drops a Salaam Remi produced cut with the fakest rapper of all time, Rick Ross. Just lost all hope in his upcoming solo. He does this every time. Hypes it up, says he’s taking it back, only to turn around and find Remi’s weakest beat to rap on. Maybe the best ever in terms of talent. Decision making is questionable. Rick Ross? Who honestly wants to hear Rick Ross on a beat that doesn’t bang? I don’t wanna hear the fat fuck AT ALL, personally. And Prodigy is doing songs with French Montana and Wacka Flocka, HIP HOP IS DEAD. NaS knew it.

      1. This is for a soundtrack and whos to say Premo, AZ and the rest of them cats wont be on the actual album, ARE YOU PSYCHIC????

      1. I think this is one of nas better beats hes rapped on lately lol..as a nas fan, im just happy to hear some shit from him man

    7. Why doesn’t DX mention that this track is for a movie? I’m glad this cut won’t be on Nas’ new album. Get the Salaam Remi and Ross track out of the way for a movie joint. Smart. Just keep these two niggas away on the album.

    8. I see niggas is mad because Nas is working with Ross:I dislike Ross too but you can’t expect Nas to hate Ross just because YOU do:Come on now:You guys need to stop acting like you know these ENTERTAINERS personally:If Nas is friends with Wayne and Ross, you guys take points away?

I respect thinking the song is wack:I think the song is wack but judging Nas personally for Ross being on the track is unfair:Not to mention they’re both on Def Jam right? The label probably made this happen and if not, oh well:Get over it divas:

      1. Shut up you sucka.

You the type to excuse your boys for hanging out with the trannies on the strip.

Nas can’t get AZ a verse in how long but Rick Ross got it whenever?

        Nas character is weak.

Wack move is a wack move. This a wack move.

      1. Totally agree, still listening to Usual Suspects but this is also pretty good. Doesnt match up to U.S. but still good.

    9. wtf is yall listenin to? what im hearing is pure fuckin fire from Nas and gangster street shit from the biggest boss. u niggas make me sick with all this hatin. please shut down hhdx so these low lives can die. i wish you niggas was dead hatin on one of the greatest rappers of all time and ricky the boss. u niggas should be ashamed of ur selves. lmfaoooooooo.

      Nas Is God

    10. If this was the ’05 Lakers then Nas = Kobe, Ross = Kwame Brown. With that being said, not feeling this track anyway.

    11. Any one who rated this song low because Nas did a song with rick ross is taking themselves way to serious. Niggas make music, it’s a business, Smarten up dummy

    12. idk how nas can keep a straight face talking about hood shit with rick ross on the track….lol…but the song is nice ill just fast foward ross part…lol…he gets murdered on every track…lol….but he gets hot beats

    13. i never got it ..why evryone does collabs with rick ross…nor will i ever get it!!!…hes fat and he cant rap!!!!!!

    14. he trying to adjust with times i bet he sign with young money next lol but ok track! but why collab with a poser!!!!

      1. guess jay-z is fake too cuz he collaborated with ross and wayne. not game though. this is nonsense u guys are talking about

    15. Joints cool, Nas verse was straight when it comes to content, but Ross content really could not match which was a letdown.

    16. Crazy ass beat, like a horror flick. Usually like Ross only for his Maybach beats but damn, this track is fire.

    17. So nas is fake if he does a song with ross? And why are we still talking cops? it is 2011 get over it!!!! Your favorite rapper fucks with rozay!!!! don’t be mad cause ross got respect in the game!!! Shut the fuck up and stop being butt hurt!!!!

      1. nas bin fake since pac exposed his bitch ass… he lost the war to jay z and now works for him what a suckaa…. and rick ross is a phoney..but at the end of the day 99% of rappers are!!!! the 1% are either in jail, dead, or balling and doing bigger things

      2. OK SUNNY who said Pac was real cuz he got shot and survived (the first time)? Who can say if anybody is fake or real most niggas love Nas cuz he’s a beast lyrically, and where were you living under a rock, NAS BODIED HOV EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT!!!! AND ONCE AGAIN YOU MUST BE UNDER A ROCK AGAIN BECAUSE NAS DOESN’T WORK FOR HOV, HOV’S NOT THERE ANYMORE IDIOT!!!!BOY ALL THIS HATING IS JUST RIDICULOUS!!!

    18. Director Brett Ratner tweeted earlier this week that Nas and Rick Ross had finished a new track for his upcoming movie, The Tower Heist. Now, Flex gets the green light to premiere the final product. Produced by Salaam Remi.

Sound like something that should have been on God’s Son. Even Ross sound ok

    19. Nas has made some strong joints for movie soundtracks in the past. I think he needs to put a compilation out.

      HOTTT!!

    20. I think nas makes songs with lames like ross to show that hes still better then aloT of these neW CATS ..LIKE ROSS WHO THINKS HE THE BEST ..LOL

      NAS 5 stars
      Ross 2 stars on this

    21. Another strong lyrical showing by Nas ruined by his insistence to use Salaam Remi on the boards.I’m losing my patience with this dude and his beat selection..You got access to Just Blaze,Kanye,Dre,Preemo,Cool and Dre,Justice League,Toomp,No I.D,Pete Rock etc and he continues to make this dude his go to guy for tracks..smfh…get it together Nas…

    22. Salaam REmi is nice, ‘Made you look’ is his best production yet. Surely Nas should try other producers such as Madlib,Hi-Tek etcetera. Come on son, we dont want 6 Salaam Remi produced tracks on the next album. Surprise us, go the illmatic route and get Pete Rock, Preemo and even add cats like Madlib and Hi-tek on the boards. I am sure those dudes would wanna outshine each other there. And please dont have many RnB hooks, keep it real like Maxwell, we just want a Nas album. No Chris Brown, no Weezy, no Mary J, no Keyshia Cole, no Game.

      1. You can say that about almost any rapper. Jay-Z got his name from Jaz-o. Scarface took his name from the movie Scarface. Eminem took his name from a candy.

Nas’s first name is Nasir. Shortened to Nas. Calm down man.

    23. I can’t rate any Nas verse lower than 4.

Nas – do not but this on the album. REMI is good but his beats are booring dude!

    24. I grew up in Carol City I went to the same Miami Carol City Senior High School as Rick Ross and Flo-Rida
The perception which Ross has put forth is that Carol City is the hood full of projects liquor stores gangs Carol City has one little section of low income housing the Matchbox Projects But I say Carol City is not the hood
The happy-go-lucky, sing-song rap style of Flo-Rida (another Carol City resident) is a more truthful depiction of the environment we grew up in. Ross’s grimy tales of drug dealing in Carol City just seems a little dishonest and contrived

    25. William Leonard Roberts II born January 28 1976 better known by his stage name Rick Ross is a manufactured gangsta rapper
He graduated high school went to college and spent a year at the historically black college Albany State University in Albany Georgia studying criminal justice
Then trained and passed as a CO William worked as a CO for 18 months
Had a clean record untill January 2008
Ross agreed to perform a wide range of correctional officer duties including shoot an inmate attempting to escape

      1. Nas is at least as fake as Ross. What did he do that justifies to act like the toughest gangsta ever on tracks? Dude was a soft ass bitch growing up in Queensbrdige, everyone confirmed this. He was a snake, talked bad about people behind their backs and denied it when they confronted him.

      2. to the guy who said cause he went to college and was a co doesnt mean he not a real gangsta true… BUT lying about it and acting like you werent a co and pretending that wasnt you in the picture makes you a FAKE!!!!!

    26. Just apparently this for a movie – not on the ablum.

      Lets hope so.

I love Remi and his classic joints – but we need a REMI free, feature free bullshit Rnb free NAS album.

If Nas or his team are listening please…. get ALC, PREMO, NO ID etc on the boards.

    27. funny how Nas is making a album called life is good when he made Life’s A Bitch before hahahaha!!! this tracks fukin shite!!! this beat is sooooo fukin shite! n wtf is rick ross doin with Nas?

      1. He made a song called Life’s a Bitch nearly 20 years ago before he was rich and famous. Two decades and ten’s of millions of dollars later, peoples outlook on life change.

    28. Fake rappers:

Rick Ross is a former cop who stole the identity from the real Rick Ross

Nas used to call himself Nas Escobar after Pablo Escobar. And was living like a maffia don in his lyrics.

50 Cent stole his name from the real 50 Cent from Brooklyn who used to rob rappers from their money.

Az stole his name from the real Az who was a drugdealer and a rapper. The real AZ did an album in 1991!

Ice-T former rapper and now TV COP (used to make songs like copkiller) stole his name from Iceberg Slim a real pimp.

THIS is the truth and no fiction!!!!

      1. Yeah, these fake ARTists really piss me off! And that Pablo Picasso with those FAKE paintings – they don’t even look realistic! WTF is with that!?

    29. leave ross alone, we know hes fake already, so is 50 cent, his rhymes got niggas STILL DOIN TIME, from like 10 yrs ago, the label doesnt care if your REAL, they would actually prefer someone fake who can tell a REAL story, theyre easier to deal with, less hood in the offices, more hood in the studio. good song too

    30. y’all are some haters!!! nas verse is HOT!!!!

you could hate on ross all you want..but he signed three underground MCs to his label
      WALe
      Meek mill
      stalley

    31. this is ok for what it is title cut for movie tower heist! and ya’ll niggas be trippin salaam remi has a deep & dope catalogue in different genres of music

    32. hotttttt shittt! i jus started playing the song and it already blew my mind yo. Nasty Nas and Rozayy. dope shit

    33. Hip hop fans are SOOOOOOO DUMB…they are the reason NO one respects the culture. You haters are lost! To Nas & Ross good job and the “Tower Hiest” movie will be dope and this song on the soundtrack will be $$$$ in the bank for Nas and Ross so keep hating you stupid hip hop fans!

      1. NOBODY RESPECTS IT BECAUSE YOU GOT FAKE ASS RAPPERS LIKE ROSS WHO DENY STRAIGHT FACTS ABOUT HIM BEING A COP AND PRETENDS HES A DRUG LORD

      2. NOBODY RESPECTS IT BECAUSE YOU GOT FAKE ASS RAPPERS LIKE NAS WHO DENY STRAIGHT FACTS ABOUT HIM BEING SOFT, NEVER DOING ANY CRIMES AND PRETENDS HES A DRUG LORD

      1. Know your history, yes Pac dissed him but 3 days before he was shot he met him and said they were gonna work together and that he “shouldn’t play into things trying to pull them away from one another”. Pac and Suge respected Nas.

    34. i like NAS…but he’s alwayz been a likkle confused.

ISLAAM is the deen of ALLAAH; CHRISTIANITY is the deen of CONSTANTINE….and one shouldn’t put ISLAAM and crime, in the same sentence!

      1. I can dig ur argument. it is contradicting but at the same time its genuine. battling stayin true to ur religion and dealin with real life situations that cause u to have criminal thoughts is something everybody deals with at some point.

    35. why r people complaining about the beat. the beat is fuckin sick and nas kills it as always, and ross was an ok addition to the track

    36. The beat has grown on me a little. It’s actually solid. I think we’re all conditioned to believe that it’s wack as soon as we see Salaam Remi’s name beside Nas. I just hope for the album Nas decides to incorporate some different producers and give Remi a break. Whatever happened to L.E.S.?? Nas rarely ever works with him anymore.

      1. you’re absolutely right. everyone mentions all the people Nas has worked with, w/ the exception of LES. yo? can AZ get some shine?

      1. nas did 2 or 3 songs with kanye on hhid.beats were ok but nothin too special.y all forget remi produced made u look the monster hit.

    37. nas would be soooo much better if he new how to pick a beat… dont get me wrong, this beat is pretty dope… im just saying in general… this dude picks 1 good beat out of 10 he does.

      1. Nas is a mainstream artist you idiot, he always has been. And he’s always done songs with other mainstream artist….

    38. NAS IS A MAINSTREAM RAPPER TOO YOU FAGGOTS LMAO … WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING WHEN HE APPEARED ON CARTER 4 ???? LIL WAYNE WAS ON NAS’S LAST ALBUM AS WELL LMAO.

ONE DAY HE’LL PROBABLY END UP ON THE SAME SONG AS NICKI MINAJ, WHAT WILL YOU BABIES SAY THEN ?

    39. Nas will never top illmatic. Nas doing songs with Ross only shows at what point hip-hop is at right now, at the fucking bottom. There was a time when artists like Nas where recognized for their skills, not for their name. Todays popular hip-hop is garbage compared to back in the days, can’t even call it hip-hop, it’s more pop than anything. Quoting Nas from this site; “There’s a certain sound in hip-hop that I love so some of the album may give you a Nineties feel.” That’s what we need! But it’s good to see a lot of hate on this site, because you know what? The haters are right, they are right on hating on the shit that’s out today, it has nothing to do with good music, it’s more a business than anything else. Don’t let it ruin what’s still left in there. Artists like Ross wouldn’t be popular in the 90s because people could still recognize good music.

    40. yessir….nas is in his own thing now…not trying to listen to everybody say they want him to be this or that…man i’m waiting on that good scarface n nas! waiting for life’s good.

    41. Shit is dope man..You n*ggas gotta stop cryin like fags and just get hot already..complaining like some hoes on a comment section..just Yay or Nay b

    42. Some say Nas should return to his illmatic flow and theme, others say he should try to blend with this modern day rap. Well I say, thats the problem with Nas and fans of hiphop. they never understand each other

whatever one he choses, people are still going to criticize and it won’t affect the sales whatsoever .
I just hope he just sits back and fun on the album. fuck everyone else.

his true fans will buy the album even if we are just 250k.

      1. THANK YOU! An artist can never satisfy everybody. Thats what happened on I Am and Nastradamus, Nas tried to keep up with the trend of that time and made a weak album.

When he stays relevant, he’s selling out. When he returns to an old style, he’s dated/unable to change it up.

        Nothing gets appreciated, it’s sad.

    43. and stop hating Rick Ross. 90% of rappers are actors anyway. including the biggest name in gangsta rap- Tupac. yes I said it. he never did a quarter of the things he rapped about instead he rapped bitches.

when we start expecting gangsta rappers to be real gangstas , thats when they start getting killed or going to jail.

just make good music, thats all that matters. the real thugs in LA are wack rappers anyways. this is rapping not thugging.

      1. when did pac say that?
        stop saying bullshit
nas is just desperate but he shouldn’t ever consider to feature this fucking fraud on a song

    44. Love Nas & Ross has been doing his thing, but I’ll never understand the affinity Nas has for Salaam Remi! This beat is horrible! And both of their performances aren’t impressive on here either! I need Nas with Premier, Pete Rock, Large Pro, Buckwild, Bink, Just Blaze, Alchemist…not this garbage!

    45. nas another sell out nigga
one of the greatest by many doing a song with this fraud?
fuck nas by doing this shit with a C.O.
and fuck you too if you don’t agree with this
that’s why rap is so fucked up this days

      1. Exactly. But you aren’t allowed to say this. Nas fans are on full force here, every single rapper who claims to be real Hip Hop would get trashed and rightfully called out for this, but Nas gets a pass for everything.

      2. Rap is fucked up because fans defend everything their idols do. But true fans would CRITICIZE the rapper for doing shit like this, because they want him to do better. The other ones who don’t admit this, are groupies and not fans of the music.

      3. No people that actually respect music would just shut up and listen. Your not chilling with these people in real life who cares. I don’t like ross but if nas does a track with him i’m not gong to hate it just because you don’t like what that person was doing 10 years ago. that’s just dumb

      4. We should criticize nas heavily for this. He can mean so much for the game, but makes the most irrational choices. He has no taste for beats, but still got that nice flow we’re used to. Take his untitled album with a track called “Make the World Go Round” (feat. Chris Brown & The Game) which totally fucks up an otherwise decent CD (except for all the obama crap, fuck that nigga). Anyway, we should criticize Nas for every stupid choice he makes in hip-hop. Do you listen to his interviews? How come he’s considered intelligent? I don’t believe he’s that smart neither. Probably disinfo spread by the industry like most famous people with very high IQ’s. TBH Nas is just a regular dude who has proven to be able to make classics, but an intellectual, nah.. don’t buy that shit.

      5. Oh, finally someone with common sense on this site.
Nas has done so much shit, I hate that people act like he’s flawless and forgive him everything.

””Make the World Go Round” in which Nas, Chris Brown, and Cool & Dre top even Fat Joe in terms of trend-hopping insincerity, toasting to ballers, gangstas, hustlas, and the very same ringtone rappers he was willing to throw under the bus just two years ago when it was convenient for his public image.”

He comes across as an illiterate in every single interview. No wonder he already scrapped the title of his new album. I bet he changes it to something controversial.

    46. Why would Rick Ross bother wearing a mask for a robbery? It’d be pretty obvious who the person wearing the mask while waddling up the stairs and grunting would be.

    47. I can’t believe that Nas…. one of the legends in the game…. possibly the greatest…. would lower himself to let officer Ricky’s fake king pin ass get on a track with him. What a waste of a dope verse and nice beat. Fuck I want to claw my ears off every time I hear Ricky’s voice. I guess I’ll just download the song and edit Ricky’s verse out. I’ll give it a 4/5, Ricky fucked this song out of the last star.

    48. Even Bill O’Reilly sonned this fool.

”His new album is a bomb, a disaster, a catastrophe and he desperately wants attention. Two years ago his last album sold 355k copies in his first week, this one has sold a 187k copies. Not good. I hope im not a racist for pointing that out.”

    49. In today’s world of music what’s wrong with trying to make good music? Nas is just adapting to the swing of things again…He’s still doing his thing…Collaberating with other artists doesn’t make you a sell out either…I think fans should spend less time politicing and more time listening to the fucking music…Its not about who he made the song with or who did the beat its whether the song is good or not…

    50. Yall niggas need to stop hatin, nas has been workin with ross he was on Deeper than rap.

This shit is fire 5 stars

      1. Not at all. Nas paints a much better picture of what a heist is in his verse. What do you get from Rawse? Just braggin’ bullshit…”got my J’s on”, Mercedes”, “girl on my dick”, rolling weed”. Same shit you always hear in Rawse’s verses. Listen again.

    51. people need to calm down lyrics are good..beat is a lil too “soundtrack” for this site but i think this is for an upcoming movie right??

    52. You fools bustin’ on Esco need some clarity. How does THE MOST SAMPLED MAN in hip-hop become overrated to the game? Name another rapper who started 20 YEARS ago who’s still as relevant in hip hop?

Not being a fan of his music is all about choice, but let’s be real. No other one man has been more involved in hip-hop then Nas. Judging by the 350+ songs that sample his voice!

      Haters stay mad.

      1. Everyone who criticizes this is a hater? Ever thought of the idea that his true fans who supported him since the beginning, aren’t pleased by this? It’s the right of everyone to call out Nas for this.

    53. It’s not about Nas collaborating with Ross. The thing about this is, that Ross outshined Nas with ease. Unbelievable.

      1. Nope, Ross verse didn’t even stay on topic. Clearly these guys weren’t in the studio together and knock this song out in a hour.

    54. LOL @ people praising Nas for ”vivid pictures”. These fools did never listen to ”Let And Live Die” or other Kool G Rap albums. These are vivid pictures that makes you see a movie and not this generic bullshit Nas did here. Everything AZ did on ”Doe Or Die” was cinemetically far superior to this piece of garbage.

    55. REAL HEADS, and REAL fans of Esco (who’ve been with him since the beginning) don’t RESPECT THIS MOVE AT ALL (that goes for DTR too) just like when Em went with Wayne, not a good look. You get sonned for this, IMO. The REAL NASIR wouldn’t lower himself to this level, and yall can say what you want about “it isn’t about him collabing with Ross…etc etc” when quite the contrary it is. You see back in the day cats had lines they didn’t cross, there was competition, and for that reason, cats didnt KISS EACH OTHERS ASS on a whym and try to get everyone and there mother on a track or an album, the pedigree in hip hop is a joke, and some of our most beloved have fell into this STUPID MINDLESS CIRCLE….im out, ONE.

    56. What the fuck is this whack shit? Sometimes I think the people on this site don’t listen to any other rappera besides Nas. This is Nas fighting to stay relevant, when he doesn’t need that in reality, because he already proved himself. This is a TERRIBLE move.

      Big L – The Heist >>>>>>>>>> this.

    57. Nas lost.

It’s over for him now, he doesn’t get any more credit.

There are much better rappers who would never do faggot shit like this. Rappers who have a backbone and stay to their principles. Like I said before, Nas doesn’t give shit about Hip Hop or his own fans. A rapper of his caliber could EASILY go the indie route and release the albums he wants. This fuck didn’t even release Lost Tapes 2, this is how much he cares about Hip Hop. Dude is the most fickle sellout ever. Others don’t make a big deal out of it, he denies it. He resorts to ugly manipulation before he releases an album. He drops a street single to gain respect from his true fans and the album is full of pop shit. Killah Priest, One Be Lo, Elzhi and especially REKS, who called out the faggotry of todays Hip Hop on several songs like ”Pray For Me (Suicide Note) and This Or That, are just some of the rappers who really love the artform.

      1. Nigga I went to a Killah Priest show and there was 6 people there! Elzhi made a whole album dickriding Nas “Elmatic.” Nas is signed to Def Jam, they make him do shit like this. Every artist on Def Jam has a track with Ross, I don’t like it either. But coming out and just shitting on Nas for it. Eminem and 50 are the only rappers that never fucked with Ross.

    58. if u a Nas fan and u say this is hot, you’re not a Nas fan. REAL fans have standards and expectations. If he was gonna get with Ross, he could have at least bussed over a Ross-quality track. Ross picks some of the most soulful beats these day, yet nas couldn’t jump on one of those? we all ask about nas being back in with premo, les, large pro, or even the kid that did black republican or 9th wonder. He has never officially worked with 9th wonder. WTF? what about dj khalil? why always salam remi? remi will give him a hot record here and there and then always something like this. GARBAGE! was Hov right? “1 hot album every 10 year average”

    59. This beat is wack.. I thought REMI had beats?? THIS BET SOUND LIKE 007 MEETS THE PRINCE OF PERSIA.. BOO #FORGETTABLE

    60. These comments are funny. You would think Nas has never done a track with Ross the way these groupies are getting mad

    61. Everyone who defends this, is a dick-sucking groupie. NOTHING about this is GOOD. We’re talking about Nas, one of Hip Hop’s most iconic rappers and Rick Ross, a fake ignorant fuck, who’s resposnsible for the downfall of Hip Hop. The one who called it ”dead” is now working with RINGTONE rappers. It can’t get any worse than this. Nas is full of shit. He’s a rapper who betrays is fans and uses shitty gimmicks to manipulate them. THIS is the SAME dude who called is album Hip Hop Is Dead and made songs like CARRY ON TRADITION, WHERE ARE THEY NOW, HIP HOP IS DEAD and WHO KILLED IT?. This is unbelievable and a sad day for Hip Hop. Nas deserves nothing but hate for this. I won’t be dumb enough to buy his next album, I’m sure it will be full of shit like this.

    62. I have no idea why Nas fans are getting so angry … you would have thought they were singing and shit in the song, instead its just a regular ass rap song, that follows the guidelines of hip hop … whats all the commotion for ?

    63. Ross destroyed that loser Nas with the beginning of his verse alone. Dude has more swag in 2 lines than Nas had in his whole career.

      Da Bawse >>>>>>>>>>>>> Nas.

      1. You have to be the dumbest motherfukka and if I saw you on the street, I would slap the shit out of you! You are the reason rap is so whack cause stupid hoes like you!

    64. ”I got my shades on, got my money in my pocket, got my J’s on
Spent a hundred for my watch, I feel amaze-on”

      >>> anything this clown Nas has done this decade. Ross and Wayne helping him to stay relevant. That fool should be thankful as fuck.

    65. I’m a Nas fan, but you have to admit the truth. Ross ain’t a better lyricist, but he has produced much better music in the last years. He picks some of the best beats of all time. This is music and not spoken word. Dude has one of the best and most well-rounded discographies ever.

Port Of Miami, Trilla, Deeper Than Rap, Teflon Don and the promising God Forgives, I Don’t. Who’s fucking with that besides Kanye? Ross’ albums are consistent as fuck.

    66. Nas for life but this is some commercial bullshyt that hopefully never see the light of day but it sounds like a soundtrack song for the film with ben stiller and eddie murphy

      1. I think DX knew it would cause some hysteria if people thought this was gonna be on Nas’ album. Judging by the comments it worked.

    67. Song is good to me. Then I can’t get over the fact that n*gga hate on a n*gga so much. Ross putting in work!

    68. i have always been one of nas’s biggest fans, and have stood through his little phases of gangster and philisophical.
this is too much for me, no hate rick ross is the first rapper to be exposed as completely false. you saw jim jones laughing at him..why do you think, because nobody could relate to a rapping prison guard.
that is a huge oxymoron a rapping prison guard who raps abour hustling.
nas is done, he lost much respect for this song, it isnt even goos to top it off

    69. Nas is the better lyricist of the two but Ross killed him but, I respect the fact that Nas wasn’t like he sunned me so I have to rewrite my verses …they both did what they do..Probaly would have sounded better on a different track

    70. 4 stars.. it’s aight.. I dig both their music..to me they aint going in hard enough. It’s just a solid track. Dont see anybody eating anybody on this. Its like lebron + Dwade scoring 20 pts each. They did they thing but they aint go crazy wit it.

    71. Incredible track…focus on the artist not the irrelevantly featured artist such as Ross because its the same reason why people can tell whos been bodied on a track and hey thats when I learn then and there that lyrical simplicity doesn’t equal a good performance. These are the beats NaS should have been on…looking forward to Life Is Good 🙂

    72. I fail to see how Ross beat Nas on this track. Def not nasty’s best but come on. I’ve yet to hear Ross kill anyone on even his own shit.

    73. Damn, ross murked Nas old ass in this. Nas needs to check himself into a retirement home with his senior citizen ass. Young money bitches!!!

    74. The tracks not that bad. Too many salty niggas. Most rappers are fake anyway it’s just that some don’t get exposed

    75. it’s for a movie dummies!!!!! they probably were put on it together, stop complaining and enjoy the music, and if it’s not your type or music, why you still on the page? and if you dont like rick ross, why even click on the link dummies?!?!?!

    76. I love your work Nas. You can do 7 Billion times better then this. Why the hell are you doing a beat that sounds nothing like you, feels exactly like a beat Ross would use. Nas no. The lyrics were not as good as they should be too and the beat isn’t very radiofriendly to me.

Don’t try to fit in with the dumbass radiohead no lyric music Nas. Be a trend setter not a trend follower.

Lyrics and a beat that fits you NaS.
      =[ Too disappointed for words

    77. man this internet is fucking everything up y’all people have become zombies all day long sitting behind ya moms computer typing all this shit how these niggas is whack gay fake lame blah blah blah homie y the fuck did u even click the song just to hate and this goes for every fuckin song on this website and any other website HATING IS AT A ALL TIME HIGH niggas go OCCUPY yourself and throw hate towards this GOV thats the real problem let these rappers do them if u don’t like it then move on y u guys catching feelings and talking shit like a fucking female take the tampons out yo ass and act like a fucking man these niggas getting paid how can u not salute that who gives a fuck about what rick ross background is. i kno damn well u meet that nigga face to face you bitch ass niggas is gonna ask for a fucking pic and a autograph like a fucking groupie man y’all miss me with this hating shit like i said wake the fuck up idiots u act this music is gonna change your life or something and since when did everyone have such a high fucking standard on music its because of u rap has become techno cuz white people buy records not us black people or other minorities so STFU

    78. Damn, ross murked Nas old ass in this. Nas needs to check himself into a retirement home with his senior citizen ass. Young money bitches!!!
What up Wayne is lord? That’s my nigga!

    79. Damn, ross murked Nas old ass in this. Nas needs to check himself into a retirement home with his senior citizen ass. Young money bitches!!!!

      1. you are just a ratard. young money is wack and always will be. sadly lil wayne will be going down in history as one of the greatest ever and he not even top 10 of all-time smh.

    80. Nothing special, beat is pretty good. Ya’ll get off Nas dick, this is a soundtrack song. Definitely a filler track not worthy of a 2nd listen though.

    81. if you are a ‘true’ nas fan you would let him do him and be supportive of him always, you retard fucks dont understand but im pretttttyyyyy sure nas knows what the fuck he’s doing, this isnt an album song, it’s for a fucking movie with ben stiller and got dam eddie murphy…. it’s even got the fucking name of the movies… so…… CALM THE FUCK DOWN, the song isnt even that bad, you guys are just too fucking dumb and covered in hate to realize what the fuck is going on….. fuck ya’ll literally give me a head ache

      1. Nah… you’re talking about dickriding an artist. If it’s wack it’s wack. No love lost.

Nas is still the GOAT IMO.

        But this is just ahhh….lammmmmmmmmeeeeee…

    82. Illmatic (Best Hip Hop album of all time) >>> Reasonable Doubt
It Was Written >>> In My Lifetime Vol. 1
      I Am… >>> Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life
Nastradamus >>> Vol. 3… Life And Times Of S. Carter
      Stillmatic = The Blueprint
God’s Son >>> The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse
      Street’s Disciple > Kingdom Come
      Untitled = American Gangster
Distant Relatives >>> Watch The Throne

Oh but this song is kinda weak, no lie.

      1. You left out Black Album which is an amazing one. And Blueprint shits on Stillmatic. Vol 3 shits on Nastradamus as well.

Anyway I don’t even know why we talk about Jay-z vs Nas again…

      2. Nas from 91′ to 96′ the best to touch the mic; can’t even compare. Name another rapper that was on a level like that other than Rakim…… Thought so kid.

    83. first raekwon, trae, nipsey an now nas….fuck is up with all these so called real niggas workin wit officer ricky’s fake ass, not to mention ross really ain’t that nice.

      1. It’s called selling out lol. But nah, seriously, musically officer Ricky is pretty entertaining (half tha time) so I guess that’s why they fuck with dude (not to mention he’s “on top.”

    84. Ok people, here it is. I got it. There is a reason behind the hate on Nas. Its because their favorite rapper can’t keep up. The flow is timeless and he can move thru decades. While other rappers be here for the summer.

    85. where are all the LAUGHTERHOUSE nerds now fucking jackoffs this is how it’s done (tho’ i can for sure live without Rick Ross man tits rap).

    86. To half of y’all assholes who actin up like Nas didn’t really do this with Rick go listen to Deeper Than Rap track 5 Usual Suspects not just featurin Nasty but also Kevin Cossom produced by Inkredibles!!!

    87. Everyone crying about Rick Ross being on the track who cares…yall sound like a bunch of lil @ss girls. DON’T LISTEN if you don’t like him lol … Hot song!

    88. U IDIOTS NEED TO LISTEN TO THE USUAL SUSPECTS ROSS FEAT NAS..OF ROSS DEEPER THAN RAP ALBUM ROSS SPIT CRAZY ON THAT SHIT U FUCKIN DUMB ASS G-UNIT STANDS NEED TO GET OFF ROSS DICK HE MAKES BETTER MUSIC THAN 50 WACK ASS BOTTOM LINE

      1. yeah the record sales real say rick ross makes better music hahaha.. ross has NEVER SOLD MORE THAN 200K in the first week.. keep supporting your phoney rappers, well all rappers are phoneys

    89. Chill the fuck out. This song is for the ‘Tower Heist’ sound track. Funny how this “weak” track still bodies a large percentage of today’s emc er rappers’ best track.

      Game. Set. Match.

      1. No, this doesn’t body ”a large percentage of today’s emc er rappers’ best track.”

It’s just that you don’t know shit about Hip Hop. Listen to some more rappers besides Nas and this will be whack as fuck. Damn, do the people on hear listen to one underground rapper at least?

        It’s a fucking shame.

    90. Damn, ross murked Nas old ass in this. Nas needs to check himself into a retirement home with his senior citizen ass. Replace nas with lord weezy and it will be a classic! Word is bond!

    91. Hot shit! One legend and one guy who’s on his way to becoming one on a hot ass salami remi beat, ill. If nas can release a great album he might be able to join Ross on the list of hip hop greats, he ain’t there yet. Ross on the other hand has had 3 classic albums already. Bawse!!!!

      1. That was the most idiotic thing I’ve ever read. Ross is garbage. Nas is a Legend. What is Ross? He ain’t shit. Holla when Ross got ten albums on deck.

      2. clearly a troll.. otherwise this guy is the stupidest man alive.. ross has no classics.. nas has illmatic.. and then a slew of incredible albums, stillmatic, untitled, i am.. etc rofl mad funny

      3. The Nas stannery on this site is disgusting. He wasn’t able to outshine Ross. Nas an ”ungodly lyrical stratosphere”. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! His rhymes were one-syllabic, he had no wordplay and no double-entendres. Kill yourself, you pitiful faggot.

    92. Nas’ verse is fire! He described a perfect heist. After all, the song is a soundtrack to a movie called “Tower Heist”. Ross did his thing, but didn’t stick to the script.

      1. LOL. Kool G Rap, Big L, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon are just a few rappers who have lyrics that are much more vivid than this piece of garbage.

    93. Can’t understand why people put Nas in a box. Just becuz the man makes a song with a certain artist that makes him a sellout? If that’s the case then Nas been a sellout….people beefed in 96 when he did a track with Lauren hill, now If I Ruled the World is classic, Nas collabed with R-Kelly, Genuine, Kanye West, Jayz, J-Lo, Ja Rule, X, 50cent(back in the day), Luda, Maxwell, Missy, Amerie, Aaliyah, the list goes on of mainstream pop-type artists Nas worked with…..now all of a sudden he is a sellout? fuck outta here, let Nas be Nas and do him….get off his dick

    94. Funny how people are all up in arms about this collabo like it’s the first time it’s happened…lol

Listen to Usual Suspects off of Deeper than Rap, it’s a pretty decent song…

Plus say what you want about Ross, but he’s the hottest out there right now, and he and Nas actually kinda rhyme well together…lol

    95. i can imagine Ross after he recorded this song ” I was good right ” next to NaS it shows how simple and repetative his flows are only Dumb Niggas Bumpin MMG in they cars

      1. Trying to make yourself believe that ross is thinking that lmao!!!! if that is the case nas wouldn’t have put him on a track with him right? Maybe usual suspects nas killed the track better than this right? But yet he does another song with ross…. Maybe just maybe nas likes getting on tracks with ross…………You dumb ingrate

      1. Eminem is really just one of the illest MC’s out. Has anyone heard his 2 disc Freestyle Mixtape that came out ten years ago, with his 9 minute freestyles with Proof, around the time that “If I Get Locked Up Tonight” came out, which is one of his best btw

    96. If they had put less focus on the snare at certain points I would like this beat a whole lot better, by the way did anyone notice whenever Nas gets a ridiculously nice yet slow beat(like Hustlers) he goes kinda weak. Now that I think about it besides One Time 4 Your Mind hes kinda lame on slow beats..like Blunt Ashes. Not to say his raps arent good just his flow doesnt sound very good slow. 3 stars

      1. u re crazy go listen go listen to 2nd childhood, rewind and how was his flow on blumt ashes and hustlas wack. fucc outta here

      1. He was good on this track. It wasn’t amazing but I think people are just happy to see him around more.. I certainly am 🙂

      1. Only if you don’t know any other besides him. Dude is a fag and a former shell of himself. That verse was terrible from all standpoints.

      2. Damn, I feel bad for you. You have to be really fucking desperate and unhappy with your life to defend someone who isn’t aware of your existence like that. Stop it. It’s pitiful.

      3. How does it feel when you have to defend everything about your idol? Does it hurt you when someone doesn’t like anything Nas does?

    97. I think Banks’ “Officer Down” track just punched Ross in the mouth again………..oh but Esco was ill. 3 stars for him.

      1. LOL….the fact you just said “Gay-Unit” just showed how LAME you are as a fan. U need to GTFOH, Ross aint an MC, he’s a DAMN ENTERTAINER MEANT TO MAKE YOU 90’S BABIES THINK HE LIVED ALL THAT SHIT HE SPIT! Now run along lil boy and for further notice I didn’t “hate” on Ross, was stating facts….Banko RIPPED son a new one on that track. PEACE.

      1. Well, Nas is my favorite rapper, you retard. But I call it whack and don’t force myself to like it because it’s Nas.

    98. This song was aight’ I know esco can flow better than this, I personally think that he’s earnt his respect legitametly and honestly, most of his shit is hailed as classic; and he’s making music for the people, giving hope (just look at distant relatives) I think he has the right to mess about with these “rappers” like rick ross, I personally think that he just makes this shit to show that he is incredible in comparison to some of the lame fake ass bitches (ross in this case) but I do feel he didnt go as hard as he could, and the beat isnt… like Nas; If he did an album with premo again, I think everyone would acknowledge the living G.O.A.T of hip/hop. Respect from the UK. 4/5

    99. Rick Ross is unconscious and paramedics are desperately trying to resuscitate him. Rick was on a flight going from Ft. Lauderdale to Memphis today, when the rapper lost consciousness.  The plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

    100. this is a dope song not a 5 star songs but still dope , and please stop hating on the beat it is good not 5 start but good . I think the only things that take away from it are the it could use one or two more verses and the fact that it’s a song for a movie so they fitted to lyrics to match the topic of the movie . death to the haters

    101. Eminem spits garbage, he just puts some fuked up shit and raps fast no one even listens to his lyrics and everyone claiming he is the goat? get the outta here… nas spits real shit. nas is goat.

      1. If you would stop slopping and swallowing so much dick. You could hear Em’s rhymes and tell that he is on of the GOAT. He bodied the cypher..Aint to make things worse,And Im not a very big fan of his music but I recognize his skill and his presence he’s had in the game. STFU.

      2. Nas credit’s eminem in his untitled album, for “pushing me 2 be the greatest” his words just sayin, but they’re both great 2 me.

    102. Remi: Yo Godson… I got some new heat

NAS: What up Saalam, whats good my nicca but it on.

(More boring dated synths fill the studio)

      (30 Mins later)

Remi: So what do think?? We in business.

Nas: Hell yeah, I love number 4 and number 8

Remi: Sorry bruh, there for Amy Winehouse

      Nas: Awww… man! Cool Cool, number 5, 6, 12 & 14 then.. fo sure.

Remi: Woooo sorry I think 5 and 12 is for Jaggers new super group – and 6 & 14 are going to this unknown Israeli rapper called Christ Killer D… he’s hard!

      Nas:….. So number 3?

Remi: Look, Nas, prolly best if you just pay me up front as ususal and I’ll find some average beat and throw some in the moment rapper on it to you and then make it the single form your new album…. okay???

      Nas: Er….

Remi: Deal. Now let me work (eat) in peace! I’m crafting this new joint for Maroon 5 so we’re gonna need that chair….

      (awarkard silence)

      Remi: Move nicca, C’mon….

      1. Do you even know what ”generic” means? Anyway, you are the biggest delusional and most devoted groupie I have ever come across. Keep it up, I’m sure you’ll meet Nasir one day.

      2. Nas is good, but incredibly overrated. Dude gets PRAISED for straight out AVERAGE shit. Absolutely NOTHING about this verse was AMAZING or special. There wasn’t a witty one-liner, nor dope wordplay or sick metaphors. Not to mention the ONE-syllbaic rhymes in 2011 (!!!). Get the fuck outta here with that elementary rhymed shit. That might impressed niggas in the early 90’s, but it’s whack and lazy as fuck nowadays. The GOAT can’t be a dude who rhymes words that are so easy to rhyme. Dude is NOWHERE NEAR CLOSE to being the GOAT. Top 20 would be legit.

    103. that beat is sick, and nas came thru as usual, he’s been consistently solid, im hoping the album is 5 mic material…

    104. What’s everybody’s problem with Salaam Remi? People seem to have forgotten he produced “Nasty”, which everyone seems to love regardless.

    105. The only reason this song is good is becvause of nas’s verse he saved this song from being trash he’s a big contender for the goat

    106. Nas is good, but incredibly overrated. Dude gets PRAISED for straight out AVERAGE shit. Niggas always act like he’s spitting some Rather Unique shit. Nas is NOWHERE NEAR CLOSE to being the GOAT. Top 20 would be legit. An honest opinion about the most overrated rapper ever.

      1. Before U start yappin like a novice to what true lyricism is, read this verse right:

Born in NYC beastin, the lord left me no choice
Christian pendants, Islamic thoughts, criminal courts
Father forgive, I wanna die like Godfather did
Standing in lineups and paying lawyers, aint tryna bid
Alliances, surveillance watching em, careful when plotting
My boys were captured on video, farewell to my partners
Ski mask and fake tags, in case the car was spotted
Lavish hotels, central park west, fly apartments
Lets rob it, forensics get a sentence so be the smartest
Its live, its a Saturday night as I load up a cartridge
Let off the fully, got allibys, no need to worry
Done right, we dont see the prosecutors or grand jury
Reputed Mobster style, take the money and run
Count it in warehouses, leave town and live a hundred years like crocodile
Straight up NYC, like a Mets fitted
This a tower heist, even Donald Trump could get it

Then If U smart enough study how he out-do your favorite rapper fav rappa:

I got my shades on, got my money in my pocket, got my Js on
Spent a hundred for my watch, I feel amaze-on
Its a jungle in these streets
Choppers be going bang, yall people need me decreased
Everyday is war, living legends you must applause
So light my cigar, for the foreigners living large
Dealing straight raw, the Mercedes in my garage
Your girl on my dick, and I may just feel like menage
I came for the cash, me and Nas behind the mask
Cause bitch, its a heist, give me or lose your life
I profit so nice, me and dog gon count it twice
Its poppin tonight, roll a weed, give me a light

B4 U talk shit, think toilet!!!

      2. HAHAHA this nigga mad as hell… NAS is not overrated.. This song aint all that but its for a movie soundtrack nigga…

      3. LOL @ CALLING THIS 4th GRADE SHIT LYRICISM. BWHWHAHAHAHAHAHA I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING!!! YOU COULD WRITE THIS!!! WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT THIS??? THE RHYMES ARE NURSERY AND ELEMENTARY, HE’S SAYING NOTHING AND THERE’S NOT A SINGLE QUOTABLE!!!

My mind designed like a Mayan pyramid
When you climb up the steps you could get where the emerald is
I left witnesses for those who didn’t believe
Show the depths of sentences, y’all forbidden to leave
Alphabets become images you listen and see
How to breath other lyricist who breathe 3-D
Trapped in each bar gets deep with the God
Like the 5 Pillars that they teach at the Mosque
Trying to define killing you seek a mirage
Terrified thriller have you reach in your heart
Priest ‘fenna get dark, dark as he can get
Dark as the first nine Pharaohs who ruled Egypt
Dark as the moon casts its shadows across eclipse
Dark as the ladies with the tarots telling your secrets
Dark as the gun barrel right before you squeeze it
I enter you mind like a auditorium
Your picture was distorted but I restored your film
Now you see clearer my pen has a lens
Like I’m sitting in the theatre coming back again
Remind you of Rakim but I’m not him
Though we one and the same; the second coming of Kane
I’m like Kool G Rap put the Uzi in rap
Or KRS-One said “It was cool to be black”
For Slick Rick pronounced that the Ruler was back
Back in the days where gold jewelry fat
Before Wu or Biggie, Nas, Jigga or Fifty
That was new yeti, they ruled the city
On the West-coast it was run by Death Row
‘Pac gave Thug Life but I just hug mics
The grip of the Python, the strength of my right palm
        Will crush a competitor’s life-form

THESE ARE LYRICS AND NOT THIS DUMBED DOWN GARBAGE!!!

Their candles are lit, they walk in burning incense sticks
Holding their camels’ head low while presenting their gift
        (Your offering sir)
Exotic animals, perfumed oils, gold for the Prince
For the King dynasties your faced carved out a cliff
        “Well done! ”
I do the honors and call all you friends
In this ceremony of peace, here’s the Priest Offering

ook, they say tomorrows not promised, but if it was I wouldnt get open
Wouldnt get suits, them shits was made to be broken
Remember coming up, dudes talking bout hoes boasting
I was just a Juvenile, moving in Slow Motion
I dropped out of school to be a dude with mad jewellery
Once I got it, shit wasnt even cool to me
I dreamt of condos and video vixens
Until I learned most the girls in videos is pigeons
I just wanted the world to see I was for real with it
Wanted a deal, got it but couldnt deal with it
I want me and my whole homeboys to still kick it
I wish they saw me as Mouse and not a meal ticket
Let the beat play, I wish I could see a day
With no he-say, she-say, I just wanna see Trey
Wanna play the Hood and not **** with the toasters
A middle child, wish me and my brothers were closer
I wanna scream at her, catch myself before I start to
And remember it takes 2 people to argue
All she do is provoke me, all I do is diss her
All I did was shake her, she said that I hit her
She just taking erry thing I say outta context
Im tryin not to black, Im like a nigga with a complex
Was mad as a ****, didnt even show it
Yesterday was better off, didnt even know it
Complete role reversal, so its useless these days
TV got real, music went fake..
Please help her for Gods sake
When I proposed to the Game, I figured life was merry
5 Years later Im feeling like [???]
Maybe Im exhausted, maybe I just lost it
Maybe I should pick up a pen, try and force it
Same old story, guts and no glory
They try and low ball me, do em like Joe Torre
I reintroduce myself to the world, nigga Im Jerz
Im a artist, I paint pictures, I dont rhyme words
More then a rapper, I pay attention to detail
Bout how I do in retail, tells me if I prevail
Been long since I seen this trials and tribulations
Foul situations with some male stipulations
I feel like being an addict is a curse
Theres something bout dude that makes bad shit worse
Theres 3 types of niggas in this world, ya know?
So you either gon make shit happen, watch shit happen
        Or not know what happened
And so I couldnt just sit there like **** rappin
Theres dudes with problems I couldnt imagine having
If I had to have them I couldnt fathom me lasting
Like, I used to bump into Tammy in the club
A few of them, she even help a nigga get in
See a person long enough, you know you bound to get fly with em
Care for em, be more than hi and bye with em
Its been a while, I cant front like I aint phased
She was my reality check cuz we the same age
I mean, she put on a show that you CANT STAGE!
She made the shit sound effortless,
I was damn near in tears checking my messages
I got goosebumps all over my skin
She said Mouse, I highly doubt that Ill ever see you again
        Hope everything is well kid,
See, Im just findin out I had a brain tumour, but I never felt it
The doctors giving me 3 weeks to live
Not 3 weeks till I die, thats 3 weeks to give
I just wanna tell you that I love you and I care
I wish you all the best throughout the rest of your career
And then she broke into tears
I pressed 7, took the phone from my ears
Sometimes the simplest of things, people need it
But I aint call back in fear of being speechless
What was I to put her at ease with?
I picked a real bad time to be strategic
I think my lifes bad picking up the pieces
Some folk already got their appointment to see Jesus
In this world full of diseases
Ive learned not to bite my tongue or have seizures
        Depression tells me I suck
So I reply I aint here cuz I fell down, Im here cuz I got up
And then Im going back and forth with Ransom
Shit came out of nowhere, was real random
According to him, Im responsible for Jerz too
I never helped niggas? How the **** you think they heard you?
Mutha****ers got a lot of nerve dude
I was the nigga believed in you spittin
Had to con the industry just so they would listen
But go head, you just gon wreck yourself
How was you protectin me? You cant protect yourself?
Lets keep the lies to a minimal, just read your interview
I cant help but ask Whats gotten into dude?
Media training, but he dont know how that go
It help you come across not sounding like an asshole!
Then my past opened in Jail, I aint enjoy it
So why would I stand behind a mic and exploit it?
I aint ignant, just cuz I exercise spiritually
They try to ignore how I exercise lyrically
        I thought I had a great job
Back when niggas loved the coach and wasnt in it for the money like A-Rod
Even when Im spittin bout current events
Its a sublime sayin whos more current than him?
So Im wonderin if a higher powers tryin to undermine
When you shoot for the stars, sometimes youre gonna jam
        I aint been to SummerJam
I learned from Lupe, when you Dumb it Down its just harder to understand
2008, hoes is still near me
So you can think Im tired as a ****, Im still weary
The Getto Boys say its All in the Mind
Certain wounds only heal over time
No shame in my game, no pain no gain
And since I aint seen a prophet (profit) I figured God would stop it
Waitin on the alley, niggas just wont lob it
Im still a risk taker, let me put it in words
Cant still 2nd base and keep your foot on 1st
Been about 10 years since I been high off the Angel
Now Im walkin side by side with an angel
In front of my eyes, that prize keeps getting dangled
But cant grab at it so my pride is being strangled
Workin shawtys nerves like a personal trainer
But its me, its personal, it aint her
Friends keep telling me leave her, I wont
Cuz she sees something in me that I dont
And I see something in her that yall wont
If you never been in love dont tell me Im wrong
See I preach gratitude, she keeps her attitude
Argue long enough then the shit becomes laughable
My norm now since for her its so natural
Wish I could tell her that All the niggas after you!
So not compatible that were compatible
Its nothing else in this world that we would rather do
Anybody out there relate to my pain
Turn my music up and let me know that Im sane
We broke up, *****es was starin at my chain
Dude was ****in you but starin at my name
But we aint gotta entertain all that
Back like we never left, we overcame all that
**** who made better tacos or who ass fatter
Lets live for now, right now none of that matters
We keep bringin it up it, its gon backlash us
        [Fades out slowly]
Why am I meetin so many backstabbers?
Why when Im about to crash I go faster?
        Past is a disaster,
When your house is see-through, learn to close your eyes in case the glass shatters
Just sayin, its always a million more pages
When my stupid ass keep thinking im on the last chapter
No tip-for-tat, I aint equipped for that
Back in New York, chit chat with a Mitchells bag

Shootouts, drugs, liquor stores, broken projects
Where niggas jet… D’s predict a war, I jog up my steps
I hear “Freeze! nigga hit the floor! ” A yard from my rest
I drop my keys, someone clicked the door, I jumped in the apartment
I swear my heart left that time I dodged death
        I said “God Bless”
Salute the gamblers, one shuffled up a card deck
Ran in the room, dice game going on
        Ice chain, folded arms
Niggas in a cipha one dude low
Throw them bones across the floor ’cause my thoughts of wars
Is going fast, I ran in, frantic, panic, damage,
I paint Sanskrit across my canvas, outlandish
        Watch the constellations take shape
        My conscious elevate like binoculars
Eye on the great space probing along the face of the deep
To below on Earth where the cops chases the creeps and the thieves
“Priest lead us out of hell like Moses”
Pass the snakes, all the vultures, the Greek sculptures
On the court buildings, chalk ceilings with cross revealings
The Lost Children they keep oppressing us this the Exodus
Cops arresting us so press your luck
        Peace and togetherness forever kids
Imperative we free our heritage flee from the devilish and habitat
Black on black crimes and crack 9s we clap
They cuff your wrist behind your back
The ghettos infested with drugs and police
A wino with no teeth rose and said “Priest, go preach! ”
He had flames in his eyes, told me it wasn’t from wine
Opened his arms then showed me his signs then read my mind
Said yea I look familiar you saw me when you stared in the mirror
        Drop off his dusty blanket
And what was standing there was a King’s ancient royal robes
With diamonds and rubies, God’s beauty, life’s truly a blessing
In my essence (Priest) I slide the lid back off my coffin

This happens often before I started speaking, I start coughing
Then I said I’m back with another classic called the Offering
        It started storming and hailing
The church start reeling the preacher falling over the pew
Peep another view I’m writing lyrics while fighting spirits they poking pitchforks
A hooker lip gloss smears on my cheek she threw her kiss off
While trying to stick a dagger through the Priest
Beyond the offering see the elephants come in
        This is the offering

It starts off I used to finger paint While in class
The teacher sorted me to see a shrink, ’cause my craft
Was sorta different from the other students for instance when I would color
I would cut my finger smear the blood to describe a slain hustler
The painted brothers was seen in my drawing then that got boring
Then I moved to pictures with glitter on glue
A book of rhymes of street niggas I knew roasting
My brain’s turning on the spit slow motion
Flames are lit within in my skull there’s a thousand bulbs
Rotisserie shit lyrics I can’t get warm I’m too piping hot

        Name your favorite spitters
        I orchestrate assassination
Unmask your Jasons, 16 bar fascination
I’m Fantastic Four with the flow
Rock fire shit unseen by any stretch of your imagination

This is sick cinema converted to canvas

Impervious bars, hit the ass on the curviest broads
Wel gangsta, you know the sturdiest odds
Spit scurviest shit, bitch, my only opponent worthy is God
Even then I’ll topsy turvy the odds
Get it gone or get it mashed in excessively
I wear your fucking head as a fashion accessory

        I set respectable trends
Til the sickest emcess blueprint my testicle skin

        Significant severed uncertain signs
Salivating circles around cyphers of a venomous serpent kind

Shit, in a recessive state my flows are ego spectacle
If I was born with one nut, I’d still be ego-testicle

        I’ve enhanced the Jordan rules
Putting bodies on the mic (Mike) and watch the flyest nigga leap to his death

An animal on this corporate grizzly
        Spit divine as Corpus Christi
Flowin hellfire til your corpse is crispy

My quotes cockblock throats til emcess unable to respond
Like I just told a homeless person a knock knock joke

        I granted my neighborhood immunity
During the Rodney King riots when niggas burnt down and looted they’re communities
Instead I pulled bricks from the walls of my imagination and threw ’em
        through the window of opportunity

examine the logic, that contaminates projects, and turns men into inanimate objects

Its kinda frigid and heat is hells parallel, as modern day pharaohs dwell, with gang leaders controllin the streets from a narrow cell

This is season tickets to my pain, I invite you ingraduly
Show me a hero, and I’ll, write you a tragedy

I’m the sickest pushing the envelope, please
        Born nice and dying nicest
Dionysus-like, I keep a hand full of ass and a wine cooler
        Most quotable line ruler
In a class by myself like a bitched up tutor hiding from Columbine shooters

An angelic presence the delegates blessing
        Its hell against heaven
My flow is gods relic in essence
Why in the fuck is you replicas testin
        With a delicate pressin
I can blow you to maggot delicatessen

Word to Christ disciple of them bible scriptures
Decipher my lyrics you see my coming my predictions
Witness my mind dimensions my rhyme adventures
“Wait” rewind this sentence check for clues some are missing

So read your horoscope in the bars I wrote
        Priest the project ghost
I show you tales of shootouts in the cosmos
Hold my rhymes like a tarot card close
“Look” see the black prince that wears a dark cloak
        Looks kind of Goth though
In Heavy Mental I showed you my art growth
Look at my silver sword swinging in the calm snow
But in my imagination these fallen snow flakes
        Could make the globe shake
And leave craters in the earth that rotate

World place your eyes on the God at hand
The Warrior, the Emperor, I declare I AM
#1 disagree, then y’all R.I.P., as far as I see
        The sun only outshines me

        One of the best writers
I came from Brooklyn with that Bedstuy fire
        That Brownsville flow
Pounds of ‘dro my crown my robe
Who’s the greatest king? Now y’all know
Surround by souls that may be from the Dark Ages
        They tell me things
Right before I dart my pages my art’s contagious

brain storm till the ink on my paper change forms
To black clouds and dark spells that I bring on
I’m having constant dreams that I’m Constantine
Wake up guided by angels with armored wings

My minds a museum filled with microphone exhibits
Of rhymes that I write that look like pictures

Tables of yayo cathedrals of kilos
        Gangster bibles and Desert Eagles
        Apostles with their liquor bottles
        Bullets with tips that’s hollow
Silencers that fit the nozzles, banana clip that follows
A gun aficionado the last Epistle’s novel

“The (k)night’s a dark lord, well dressed, seducing our son
Upon the dawning of a full day, he usually would come
Galloping upon his winged horse, leaving trails of stars
Across the planet; night scene of New York
Comes a life with lights, pubs, clubs with thugs
Mobsters, gangsters, criminals, dealers with drugs
Loud music; crowds are moving up and down blocks
In and out of spots, cops watch for a foul shooting
        So how we moving?
My soul scour through the clouds where the moon will sit
Like a wise owl searching through the gloomy mist
Six; I bring a casket down to his tomb
Another child get pushed through the uterus
        From the womb, we intuitive
Eternal peace or damnation, depending what we do with it
        A genius, or a lunatic
        A general, or a fugitive
        It’s essential…”

The way that my thinking when I play with the ink pen
Is he old or new school? (Think, I think old school)
Nah I’m in a class by myself
Plus I drop math and I blast like a Stealth
The bars you spit I use for chin-ups
Soon as you lay ’em down I press the bench up
Then I start spinning like them nunchucks
Each paragraph is like the Pharaoh in the past
Wide as a dome piece and narrow as the path

Been up, dated, microphone mighty king David
my eyes have seen the spaceship, lying of Judah
high exalted, mystic ruler, black stone call me
abduler, skin my of solid ?, my wisdom takes off
with such great force, global space walk
I breaked off leaving legs, frost, shake the planet off
cause different ships, mountains and cliffs, planet shifts
mind drifts, this is it, I’ve been abducted
no longer stuck with, the corrupted
9 to 5 puppets, I blew away my change, buck it
bite my crutches, the faces of the public
        scream for justice..

Life is a test many quest the universe
And through my research I felt the joy and the hurt
The first shall be last and the last shall be first
The basic instructions before leaving earth

Knowledge this wisdom this goes back when I was twelve
I loved doing right but I was trapped in hell
Had mad ideas, sad eyes and tears
Years of fears, but yo my foes couldn’t bear

I build lyrics like a monument
most dominant, I drop bombs with common sense
        the inipatant scientist, a perfectionist
        a lyrical specialist

I feel like life is all written, understand my math
Got on my knees, told God I had a plan, He laughed
I mean… hours passed, no sleep, cowards get a slow leak
Showered twice the whole week, powerless control freak
Thinkin’ about suicide, won’t though I’m scrutinized
Life nigga; do or die, hood want ’em crucified
Jewelry on, fresh dressed, model broads excess
Phone calls, death threats, tell me what’s the next step
What’s what, who’s who, paranoid as usual
Grippin’ on my deuce-deuce, either way a lose-lose
All I need is one mic, razor blades, gun fights
Room without no sunlight, understand son’s plight
If done right, won’t seek and fail
I don’t follow the path, I’m creatin’ my own to leave a trail

Sayin’ Jump Off don’t sound right is blasphemous downright
I astound mics, music is just what feelings sound like
So even though when I do it it’s flames

        Would defeat the whole purpose
Naw, that ain’t what Jers. is
        Naw, that would be worthless
        Bars soundin’ nervous
A nigga much deeper than what you see on the surface
I’d rather resort back to snatchin’ purses
Finally understanding what the gift and the curse is
If I was more concerned about a purchase
I would tell y’all it’s about to go down like bird shit
It takes courage, me versus urges
A wordsmith that got caught-up in label merges
And what’s worse is, I been deserted in the circus
Up-and-left the circuit, it’s dead like hearses
Sicker than them pedophiles workin’ in them churches
That ain’t the type shit I need fit for my verses
Dawg, so lemme’ help niggas understand Mouse

Look, look, look, shout to all my fans, glad I can inspire y’all
Got a couple haters, still tryin to acquire more
You’re prayin to a higher power, hopin I should fall
But even my writer’s block, ends in a firewall

Wanna talk about how I gain is not measurable
I come from a place where the pain became pleasurable
        Me and success is inseparable
I put it all on the table so it falling is inevitable
I wont fold for you niggas
My rock bottom like a goal for you niggas
I gave em jewels, but it was more like coal to you niggas
So nah I aint the same as your man
Lets talk when you get a link on that chain of command
You got a sideline view so what Im doin dont appear to be hard
You drag racing against the rear of the car
Pumpin your breaks fish tailing make it difficult to hear these bars
Nigga your skin couldnt bare these scars
Getting beside yourself, niggas thinkin they the best
Digging your own grave playin jenga with tourrets
Out-matched, out-classed theres nathin you can teach me
In order to bring me down gotta be able to reach me

Something must’ve changed me, n-ggas might defame me
But things that used to taint me, no longer seem to restrain me
Strangely I’m no longer sad man or angry
Shame-ably it pains me, feeling like this just ain’t me
Mainly what do I tell all the people that thanked me
Mainly those who ordain me, aside from can you blame me
Motivation they was supplying me no longer providing me
Jason Williams something killed whatever was driving me
Worrying less about the past more about the now
Less about what I’m going though more about the how
It’s for certain it’s been 30 years being fit for hurting
Now I’m a different person with nohing to overcome in the mist of burdens
For certain, got 6 figures in my sock drawer
And honestly this year I expect to make a lot more
It’s hard to live without a budget when life is corrupted
In a house thats so peaceful that I’m trying to disrupt it
Scream f**k it not because I have to but because I love it
Which makes me as fake as the puppets that I speak of disgusted
Without a paddle up sh-t’s creek
Dig deep and see it ain’t life it’s just me
So be warned as I’m putting on like I’m deformed
Only so y’all can accept it as being my norm
Maybe I quit working on me, maybe I given up
Maybe I been lying to myself maybe I give a f-ck.

It’s enough to make you black out, pull a mac out
Aim it at the sky while I’m running from a black cloud
Every day we playin cat and mouse as I watch it hoverin over my glass house
It’s enough to make you spazz out, pull a mac out
Aim it at the sky while I’m running from a black cloud
Tired enough for me to pass out, tired of running from the black cloud

I say it loud hoping someone can hear me clearly
Trying to make my girl get it she don’t know it’s very scary
But she’s a nympho she can come barely near me
She still want the God and i don’t think she’s mary mary
The prettiest bitches they just want to service me
        [ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/black-cloud-lyrics-joe-budden.html ]
While n-ggas prettiest bitches wouldn’t get a word from me
Some of you haven’t heard from me some of you wouldn’t mind murking me
Found that news funny likes its stright from Ron Burgundy
These n-ggas ain’t never seen dough
They can’t dream though i bump into ’em in between shows
People say im emo what that really mean though
Is though the song can’t breathe I actually make it seem so
I lost loved ones because they couldn’t deal with me
Cherish whoever still with me though the marriage be killed in me
Normally it’s just me and my lonely mind
Everyone storm is different so this forecast is only mine
Fans recognize my misery uplifted me
Shifted me to my epitome, guess the curse is a gift to me
Maybe its serendipity, maybe it’s weighing on me physically
Maybe I should man up and tell GOD not to solicit me
        Been medicated, meditated
        Sedated, hated
Character assassinated, all theses years I masqueraded
Hard headed, if it was on my mind I had to say it
Tongue on the devil’s pitchfork to see how disaster tasted
Rap is fabricated, rappers are so exaggerated
Wouldn’t be scared of the truth if they weren’t castrated
Grab a mag, spray it, surrounded by people to shoot it before me
Better unconditionally love my beautiful ugly
Now lemme speak to who I cater to
Would you love me to say(or sang?), before my weeks were not favorable
Promised to maintain being unique but relatable
All while suffering from a disease that could do away with you
Poetry on the beat, spoken-word for the masses
Therapy over pro-tools, every word is on acid
Continents on Kush, every vowel is blunted
Highly wanted this whole organization privately funded
This is bigger than the Eiffle, this is alert to public
Had a cop us by our tunnels and our bridges with the rifle
Sentences meant to stifle, this is a man aching
This is the damn breaking, contraband in the making
This is panic unveiling, got potential but I never met it
He be trying to come over, it seem like GOD won’t let it
Either he never got my invite or he jus dismissed it
But if all I’m hearing are the sounds of blackness, why am I pessimistic?
You’ll never progress if you’ll never try
All I ask, let every word I birth, never die
My wings spread, but when I’m at the sky
Weather didn’t change like I thought and had me petrified

So through the Grim Reaper sickle sharpening
        Macintosh marketing
        Oil field augering
        Brazilian adolescent disarmament
        Israeli occupation
        Islamic martyrdom, precise
        Yeah, laser guided targeting
Oil for food, water, and terrorist organization harborin
        Sand camouflage army men
CCF sponsorin, world conquerin, telephone monitorin
Louis Vuitton modelin, pornographic actress honorin
        String theory ponderin, bullimic vomitin
Catholic priest fondlin, pre-emptive bombin and Osama and no bombin them
They breakin in my car again, deforestation and overloggin and
Hennessy and Hypnotic swallowin, hydroponic coughin and
All the world’s ills, sittin on chrome 24-inch wheels, like that

The cargo ships rocking ocean tides
Their freedom watch from the open skies
        Cried for his chosen tribe
        The great Amistad wave goodbye
        You’ll never see her again
        Currents of strong wind
Took niggas on the long ride
Naked have I came, naked should I leave?
This hell I see, I’ve written it in my form
So if my time calls you can press play like it’s yesterday
It’s been a decade since the best say (Heavy Mental)
Y’all hear ’em again, my serum’s the pen
If death follows, so lie for now
The apostle, grace be unto you
Till the coming of shallow, I wrote this…

        4 Tomorrow

        What’s sufficient for the ears?
        Redemption is near
The hope of Christian, religion is listen but fear
This society put us back in bondage
Till we recall elements, living devilish in our conscious
        We became monsters
Cause all we want is the chronic and some liquors
And tat on some scriptures and I miss my sister
Pictures haunts my mind, it turns realer
        Look inside my memories mirror
Her-oin had an in-sedation, till she became an AIDS patient
Her last days she laid shaking
I stood by her grave waiting
For the preacher to finish his sentence
I dropped the rose in the hole then I left repented
It took part of my soul; turn my soft heart into stone
When I strike my chest it hurts my hand
Is our freedom even worth the plan?
        The dope merchant glance
Then look back at the fiend like “you heard the man”
Who wanna take a stand? Hopes are hollow
The adolescent hand chokes a bottle
No role models, wherever the streets leads he shall follow

        4 Tomorrow

        Let’s see the future
        This for the future man
Ha-ha, I want the future to hear me
        I want everybody to realize
That when I sat and I wrote this
        This was for…

He quickened my heart after the foolish women rip it apart
Swimming in a dark sea that was living with sharks
The last enemy to destroy his death, what’s next?
Given the power, all things wicked will end an hour
The corruptible, must put on end corruption
        All this and his destructions
God to men discussions, he looks at sin disgusting
Sky erupting when my pen is touching
        Deliverance from this ignorance
Idiots or oblivious, it makes God furious
Surrender yourselves, ye members of hell
        Offenders are given the jail
The devils agenda’s to get in one self
All we wanted was help, the conomine is blind
The honorable is hard to find, there should be no sign
Liberty is defined, the spirit must be circumcised
It’s deeper than just tribute time

        4 Tomorrow

ed he who have sin, sin no more
Tired of kicking the door, shootouts, blood and gang wars
Chainsaws, tied up spouses, cocaine laws
Hawaiian outfits with SKs that bloodstain walls
Till you’re losing ounces, niggas see the life that drug game calls
You’re crying fountains on the calls, saying, “Please, she’s only four”
Pleading the merciless men that murder your kin
Sending you threats over the phone and they murder again
Now you either make the payments or funeral arrangement
Contemplating, federal building put their name in a statement
Poor choices, take this like the gem from the pearl of oysters
Still wet on my tongue, rep where you’re from
And your boy just see real niggas respected
Deliver this message to the dumb and the deceased
We all from the streets, made they rest in peace
While I wreck this beat with techniques
Resurrect speech with flows are deep in soul
I tell Ms. Rahman, I’m sorry what happened that evening
But it was Tone; his name came up now we even
And Mr. James I wish I could change, but Todd
Shouldn’t of did what he did, you can’t blame Rob
And Ms. Stevens, what can I say? A close call
But it wasn’t me you visit at the morgue
When they killed Spark that night, my heart went to the right
My chest got tight, that was a hard one to fight
Hood mysteries that no one could figure out
Plain and simple, facts were there
        Going through packs of beer
Make me run to the roof; let the Mac off in the air
You was always strapped, gave me dap then threw up the pairs
Like yeah, I missed those years, I dish out tears
Strange dreams at night make me wish you was here
Tommy you should have watched your back
Instead he let them niggas plot and then form an attack
His shots echo, bounced off the building in the ghetto
Mass genocide, inner-city children of the barrel
And Mr. John, I did what I did ’cause of revolution
You’re damn near sixty, may you lay next to Newton
The dollar bill, “In God We Trust”
Does God stand for Guns, Oil, & Drugs they gave to us?

        [Hook:]
        I only fucks – with – what’s – real

        [Killah Priest:]
It’s project living regardless revolvers are spitting
When drama is lit, guns will get clipped, the mission
No bottles were ribbing, just hollows from Henchmen
Hell swallows us, death follows up
        Bullet shells, toddlers get bucked
Black male role models are fucked
The little girls promised the world but tomorrow turn sluts
You either playing basketball or pushing crack in the hall
Or either rap or getting macs out the board
        Now what’s that, white supremacists?
No rights for immigrants (no rights)
Life imprisonment, some get life sentences
Secret indict, whites swapping with businessmen
We fight militant, keepers of words they’re writing Genesis
        Black paintist Rome-like the images
This goes to the judges and the senators

        [Hook:]
        I only fucks – with – what’s – real

Post not against the natural branches
But if thy boast that bare is not the good root
        That the Lord has planted
You who will rule the planet
For if the first fruit be holy
        The lump is also holy
The roots and the whole tree
And thy will grafted in amongst them
        Being while olive trees
I’m looked as he trunks them
I see the strange fruit hiding in your leaves
        Idolatry, tricked knowledge’s, their policy
My souls be set on fire
I rose from the depths from liars
        Breath of Elijah
Never the less be full of joy and comfort
To the worldly things and out with things and conquered
Strange women and parties and alcohol
        I devour them all
And gave ’em back when I heard my call
        ‘Cause I felt you there
You had my back when no one else cared
It’s like a flare burning in mid air
All I could do is stare
I feel something in my system
        It’s more than a rhythm
It’s just a voice calling me back to redemption
        I’m walking over heated coals
        Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
This life’s eternal, I write my journal
        If y’all could feel this
        Feel something touching my spirit
I see the clearest that I ever seen
This must be what heaven means

        Even Kings die, thrones rust
Skeleton bones turn to dust memories are blown in the gust
It’s about how you live when you were here
How you celebrated those years were you a follower? Did you try elevating your peers?
Were you sincere when you gave the prophets your ears?
But soon as trouble come you disappear
Listen here were you real? Did you show love that people could feel?
Did you have jealousy but keep it concealed?
Did you smile at your man’s face?
But all awhile wanted to take your man’s place
        Moving around like a snake
I know you hate that term, don’t call it that
Seen that lately that’s why the Priest been falling back
        ‘Cause when the Revolution start
All those cliques that fall apart will soon be the Devil’s mark
And none the adversary will have a heart
The letter for Priest, my freedom of speech
        Y’all read ’em and weep
The demons that keep you from the path just laugh
That’s my ink pad looks like Stained Glass
A collage of art, that show scenes from the Nazarene’s past

Think of poisoning the God? Then plea to insanity
Nah, Satan you a liar, internal fire
The life eternal of things that concerns the writer
The brighter inferno of ring that make the sky light up
We’re bound by honor, we’re bound law
What I found is armor, his word is the saw
Heard by all but felt by few
Before I make a cause, my inner self I view
If Corinthians is correct, gave you the respect
Not the jealousy of the next couple trouble of steps

        My pen’s a microscope
Beneath this lens show real life I wrote
From all my sins to my righteous quotes
I look within and realize there’s hope
I begin to cringe, struck by lightning bolts
From out of brims I saw Michaels bow
The angel’ll sin just like a ghost
I begin to cleanse, speak under the Bible’s oath
And when I end how many mics I broke?
Begin to live the words Christ has spoke
They’re losing the friends desired most
The half-less mind, their chance to shine
They blast that nine, that glass of wine
        They handed me insanity
        Vanity families of humanity
        Stay with me through calamities
The dark skies have electric fields
See the will within will, impregnable skills
Thousands of volts from post lasers
        Nonlinear optics behind quasars
Within the triple stages of dark there’s a black stars
Around the universal cosmic, lost Nassau’s
Somewhere there you’ll find my raps but only head bars
We gave the devil his time, now rebel in the mind
The ghettos designed to keep us, sleep us
The grim reaper meet us, poor education
        We explore revelation
War of the nations, claw of the pagans
        Washington white Shaitan
See the mission through man made religion
        And the flaw of Masons

The devil trembles when he knows the body is the temple and God is in you
It’s hard to continue when it’s hard to offend you
He starts to set traps, that have you setback
The last round in this death match
So strengthen where you’re best at
I promise you won’t regret that
Was I regarded as Job? Or should I take the carpenter’s role?
It’s dark in this hole, that’s as far as it goes
Harps of gold, impossible, pot as a rose
Remarkable soul, the resistance, instincts intakes a poisons
The devil’s enjoyment is so annoying
        Exploiting, morally destroying
Around a flag their serpent’s calling
        My spirit’s boiling, it’s simple
If we sin don’t do it again, ask for forgiveness
This privilege saves us from max in their prison
Attraction of wisdom, not this plastic system
        The faction – we victims
The aspen is venom, relax and it’s your ending
        Families deprived of their lives
The archives, lost tribe, pork rinds
But it’s a new era, a new beginning
A new ending, a new time, only a few inches
We getting closer, you choose, you make a decision
No collision, turn off the television
The hell in women eyes, and males we like we failed the mission
It’s disciplince, militance, no tolerance for the ignorance
We live again, refuse to lose, spark minds it’s God Time
Every bond his line, the stars aligned
Turn on the searchlight, see we the owners of the birthright
Reverse the curse like, we sold the drugs that’s old to us
Let’s get what’s owed to us, what’s really owed to us?
We bust the guns when we was young
Now it’s change a higher plain, the sky is in my range
        The third I’ll have wings

        Information begins to gathering
Starting to pattering the Stargate towards Saturn
Between the eye socket is where I’ll build my skyrocket
You don’t need any passport, all you need is a thought
Suddenly the soul becomes hot as coal
The flame blows from out my brain holes like a volcano
        The brain begins to process
As we start the conquest from out the physical bondage
The thought launches, voyaging 144 billion light years
Through the shadows of your imagination
Now open your eyes, do you see the flaming arrows aiming at pharaohs’ inhabitation’
As we begin to race in like a sparrow through the narrow population
Seeking purification, the destination is the Holy Land of Bethlehem
To eat lamb with Abraham and break bread with the Son of Man
To slowly hold these hands and stretch forth from the skies like a rubber band
As we begin to snap you above the land out of the atmosphere
Don’t look back, why’ We ‘Almost There’
Just trying to prepare and adapt to the air pressure
Now we searching for the mental treasure
Pleasure beyond the measure of yards
You can’t comprehend the god or the distance between stars
Picking up quasars inside the radars, we going far past any astronaut
Moving so fast in this aircraft, everything we pass get hot
From the takeoff, the blast turn the glass into rocks
At last my supreme task was no longer to walk on green grass
‘Til I become a beam of gas and travel through extreme draft
Unable to be picked up through cable
Out of the reach of all manners of sky examiners
Heaven scanners, giant antennas and high-tech space cameras
No evidence in any cemetery obituary
Not found in any library or dictionary or encyclopaedia or media
I’m in star mode with the discipline of Darmo, I broke the US barcode
Now I’m on Allah’s road to journey in the realms of the Cosmos
Where only God knows or goes
Blow like the UFO that gave out my work clothes
Only to glow with a holy robe
Explode through the mysterious black holes
Deep warp through the outer zone without a phone
To the unknown, to sit on my throne alone (Heavy Mental)
The pilot on his galactic plane of knowledge through culture
My sculpture lights up in ultraviolet
So you could see my brain is symbolic to a palace
        Therefore, keep my hair stylish
My flesh solid and my teeth polished
        Next stage, examine my x-ray
Take notes for your essay and let the cassette play for longer than a decade
As we begin to blaze through the Milky Ways
Repent from our filthy ways, replenish from the guilty days
The eyeballs swell up the size of eggs
Neon dreamland, wingspan seven feet, between my eyes is the beak
Destination of the ride is to reach is the peak
Angelical landscape to take the physical man behind the hidden gates of space
Ultimate skates and we go through a phenomenal rate
As we cruise going into magnitude
As we break up into a multitude of molecules
Going through a long hollow tube with a scholar’s view
As we wearing the white garment, passing sound waves are supersonic
        Passing the comets, star clusters
Changing my physical structure ’til my lip begin to pucker
Kissing Christ at the Last Supper
Grabbing a brass cup of wine (Heavy Mental)
I feel my cells getting older
Sitting on my sofa in the position like yoga
‘Til my mind passes over the Solar System
My wisdom novas, I am the controller
I begin to loosen up my shoulders forming each joint
        Into the Sun’s eight points
Then I begin to rise like helium
        Escape in the millennium 2000
Meditate to the soft notes of a violin
I’ve been on Mars building the holy synagogues for the royal seminars
Long before they had the Renaissance
There existed a Hebrew lodge (Heavy Mental)
A phenomenon from out of the matrix
The world looks at me with envy and hatred
Just because I appear to them half naked rising into a spaceship
With an arm full of solid gold bracelets
A phenomenon from out of the matrix (Heavy Mental)

THESE VERSE MAKE ILLMATIC LOOK LIKE THE WORK OF AN ILLITERATE!!! NAS IS SO FUCKING BAD, I CAN NAME AT LEAST 200 RAPPERS WHO WOULD DESTROY HIM WITH EASE!!!

    107. 2PAC >>> EMINEM > BIGGIE >>>>>>>> NAS >> JAY-Z >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LIL WAYNE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RICK ROSS

      YALL GOTTA RECKENAA’

    108. Hello everyone,

I’m the biggest Jay-Z fan and I think Nas is the biggest imbecile rapper in history. I hope Nas have his own penis in his redundant songs. I know God will save Jay-Z and my mom says Jay-Z is the smartest too. I love my mom and dad so I trust what they says, I love my pet dog “Doody” too and he always shake his tail when he hear Jay-Z music on the radio.

I hope everybody reads my comment. I’m new to rap music but I think it’s cool! I hope I can be the greatest white rapper since Eminem and Mack Miller! I love Mack Miller too!!

      Sincerely,
      Henry Peters

      1. Seriously you’re the biggest jerk i’ve ever seen fuck jay-z 2pac’s the best and by the way if you hate nas it means that you don’t know a single things about rap !! one last things stop talking about you’re life ’cause nobody cares !!

    109. ITS A SONG FOR A SOUNDTRACK, AND ITS STILL DOPE. YOU WOULD THINK SOME OF YOU INTERNET GANGSTAS KNEW NAS OR ROSS PERSONALLY. AND IM SURE IF YOU DID YOU WOULD NOT TELL THEM THIS BULLSHIT TO THEIR FACE. LAME ASS CORNY FAKE NAME ANONYMOUS IDIOTS. IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, SAY THAT…ALL THE OTHER SHIT IS WHAT BITCHES DO. NOW MY INFO IS REAL….CLOWNS

    110. Nas did so many crimes to Hip Hop. He almost destroyed the artform. He is the reason we have this dumbed down garbage today. His unlyrical style pioneered it. Dude is so fucking terrible.

    111. Nas is a lyrical legend and his flow is still smooth. Ross is 1 of the most requested in the game right now. Nice song, I’d expect more from 2 of hip-hop’s stars. But it was decent enough.

    112. ehh… Nas can do way better than this.. Funny cuz niggas hear Nas drop a decent at best song then call him overrated… What rapper you know can drop fire 100% of the time? I dont know ONE rapper that has 100% fire songs.. Every artist has songs that they just fuck around on… this track is for a movie.. Everybody know nobody is fuckin wit Nas on his A game.. fuck haters

      1. People call him whack, because his fans PRAISE every single decent verse he drops (like this one) as a Memory Lane verse.

    113. NAS & RICK ROZAY GOOD COLABO I HAVE AND BOUGHT EVERY CD THE HAVE BOTH PUT OUT! RELEVANT MUSIC … BOTH NEED TO COLAB MORE OFTEN.

      1. To make sure AZ destroys Naaas’ nursery-rhyming ass for another time, huh? AZ has always been far superior to him on every single level. The intro of Pieces Of A Man and The Payback SHIT on Nas’ terrible discography. AZ has a far better flow (mabye the best ever), much complexer wordplay, a greater vocabulary, some of the most complicated multi-syllabic rhyme-schemes ever and some kind of swag on tracks that Nas never had. Nas could never flow like AZ on The Format.

      2. Dam bro you must love wasting your time u got over 200 post on here where your just hating on Nas, maybe you should just open your mind instead of being close minded and shiit. Dont you see you put this song as the most discussed single of the month? with your hating ass grbage LoL get a life dude.

    114. God’s Son was the last great album Nas dropped. He needs to retire. Everything he’s doing now will hurt his legacy.

      1. You don’t know what the fuck a CLASSIC is.

Shut the fuck up for once, you fucking delusional groupie. You have no pride. NOBODY with a respectable opinion will call these albums classics, because they AREN’T!!! Queens Get The Money and Black Republican are the ONLY GREAT tracks off those garbage ass albums. Listen to some rappers besides Nas to even get a slight sense of the talent that’s out there. Your stannery of this man is fucking disgusting. You come on here every single day to defend him like he’s a part of your family. You catch feelings everytime someone doesn’t suck Nas’ dick. Kill yourself, you worthless piece of shit or somebody else will do it for you to erase you fucking discgrace from this plaent.

      2. Say the guy whose name is anonymous… Last 2 albums may not have been classics but they sure were fire nice lyrical content… and he did put out Distant Relatives with Damien Marley… That was a Classic #HandsDown

      1. I granted my neighborhood immunity
During the Rodney King riots when niggas burnt down and looted they’re communities
Instead I pulled bricks from the walls of my imagination and threw ’em
        through the window of opportunity

examine the logic, that contaminates projects, and turns men into inanimate objects

Its kinda frigid and heat is hells parallel, as modern day pharaohs dwell, with gang leaders controllin the streets from a narrow cell

This is season tickets to my pain, I invite you ingraduly
Show me a hero, and I’ll, write you a tragedy

I’m the sickest pushing the envelope, please
        Born nice and dying nicest
Dionysus-like, I keep a hand full of ass and a wine cooler
        Most quotable line ruler
In a class by myself like a bitched up tutor hiding from Columbine shooters

An angelic presence the delegates blessing
        Its hell against heaven
My flow is gods relic in essence
Why in the fuck is you replicas testin
        With a delicate pressin
I can blow you to maggot delicatessen

      2. Name your favorite spitters
        I orchestrate assassination
Unmask your Jasons, 16 bar fascination
I’m Fantastic Four with the flow
Rock fire shit unseen by any stretch of your imagination

This is sick cinema converted to canvas

Impervious bars, hit the ass on the curviest broads
Wel gangsta, you know the sturdiest odds
Spit scurviest shit, bitch, my only opponent worthy is God
Even then I’ll topsy turvy the odds
Get it gone or get it mashed in excessively
I wear your fucking head as a fashion accessory

        I set respectable trends
Til the sickest emcess blueprint my testicle skin

        Significant severed uncertain signs
Salivating circles around cyphers of a venomous serpent kind

Shit, in a recessive state my flows are ego spectacle
If I was born with one nut, I’d still be ego-testicle

        I’ve enhanced the Jordan rules
Putting bodies on the mic (Mike) and watch the flyest nigga leap to his death

An animal on this corporate grizzly
        Spit divine as Corpus Christi
Flowin hellfire til your corpse is crispy

My quotes cockblock throats til emcess unable to respond
Like I just told a homeless person a knock knock joke

      >>> Nas’ faggot career.

    117. World place your eyes on the God at hand
The Warrior, the Emperor, I declare I AM
#1 disagree, then y’all R.I.P., as far as I see
      The sun only outshines me

      One of the best writers
I came from Brooklyn with that Bedstuy fire
      That Brownsville flow
Pounds of ‘dro my crown my robe
Who’s the greatest king? Now y’all know
Surround by souls that may be from the Dark Ages
      They tell me things
Right before I dart my pages my art’s contagious

brain storm till the ink on my paper change forms
To black clouds and dark spells that I bring on
I’m having constant dreams that I’m Constantine
Wake up guided by angels with armored wings

My minds a museum filled with microphone exhibits
Of rhymes that I write that look like pictures

Tables of yayo cathedrals of kilos
      Gangster bibles and Desert Eagles
      Apostles with their liquor bottles
      Bullets with tips that’s hollow
Silencers that fit the nozzles, banana clip that follows
A gun aficionado the last Epistle’s novel

    119. Calm down guys really. I’m a monster Nas fan and this shit is pretty mediocre no reason to call it anything else… the Nas verse was definitely a phoned-in going through the motions effort… but its a bullshit soundtrack record so who really cares… the production is actually pretty good though

Love all the hate Nas is getting from you lames… dudes act like one average track equates to a trash career… Nas still has a better discography than your favorite rapper dummies

    120. He’s great at times, no one’s denying that, but Nas IS overrated, these kind of tracks are a testament to it. Everybody else who claims to make ”real” Hip Hop would be trashed, Nas gets countless excuses. ”It’s just for a soundtrack”, ”he makes that to outshine these whack rappers”, ”it’s okay for once”. Just when you thought he got a reality check after he performed with Premo, Pete Rock and AZ and was in the studio with the latter, he comes back with utter garbage like this and this is not the first time he did it. He isn’t as true to Hip Hop as he acts, far from it. You really think he can’t release Lost Tapes 2? LOL.

    121. [Jay-Z]
      Follow the flow, look
They say a midget standin on the giant’s shoulder can see much
further than the giant.. (the giant..)
So I got the WHOLE rap world on my shoulder they tryin to see
further than I am.. (than I am..)
And I have been tryin to be patient with they preoccupation
      with David and Goliath.. (Goliath..)
But sooner or later, that patience gonna run it’s course
and I’m forced to be a tyrant.. (be a tyrant..)
But bein tyrant, comin through your environment
Iron mask, nigga iron gas, nigga I am back
With “The Team,” no I in that
      R.O.C., y’all not eyein that
Y’all don’t see, clearly cause the reign ain’t gone
“The Dynasty,” no not Ming but Shawn’s
Dame, Kareems, nigga it’s the gangsta team
Stop your run, one of the reasons that they call us gangrene
The other reason, we got a gang of green
If there’s better at gettin cheddar that remains to be seen, nigga

      WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Jeah, jeah

      [Chorus]
Can’t touch the untouchable, break the unbreakable
Shake the unshakeable (it’s Hovi baby)
Can’t see the unseeable, reach the unreachable
Do the impossible (it’s Hovi baby)

Can’t move the unmoveable, stop the unstoppable..

      [Jay-Z]
      Jeah, look
I’m so far ahead of my time, I’m bout to start another life
Look behind you, I’m bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I’m fast, niggaz can’t get past my past
How they propose to deal with my perfect present?
When I unwrap “The Gift & the Curse” in one session
Ain’t no livin person can test him
Only two restin in heaven can be mentioned in the same breath as him
Seven straight summers, critics might not admit it
But nobody in rap did it, quite like I did it
If you did it I done it before, you get I had it
Got mad at it and don’t want it no more
And that goes for everything from flippin that raw
Flippin whores, flippin vocal chords, don’t get it twisted
Get it right, did different, did it better, did it nice
Did the impossible then did it twice (get it right)

Jay is the MUCH better writer.

      1. Only a retarted fool, who has no appreciation for the artform of lyricism, would mark this as ”trash”. Nas is my favorite rapper, but Jay is also one of the greatest.

”I’m so far ahead of my time, I’m bout to start another life
Look behind you, I’m bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I’m fast, niggaz can’t get past my past
How they propose to deal with my perfect present?
When I unwrap “The Gift & the Curse” in one session
Ain’t no livin person can test him
Only two restin in heaven can be mentioned in the same breath as him”

This is sick beyond belief from any standpoint. Jay is witty as fuck, there’s no denying that.

      2. Riding Nas’ dick is cool. Dude drops nothing but straight Memory Lane-verses.

I don’t love Jay, I don’t know him. But I love Hip Hop and I’m able to pay respect where it’s due.

    122. Look at his ”Made You Look” DVD, he’s such a fucking studio rapper, it’s unbelievable. I can’t believe that this EMBARRASSING shit has been recorded. That dude who CAN’T rap ONE complete verse live claims to be one of the greatest? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!!! That ALONE makes Jay MUCH better. If you can’t bring it live, you SUCK. End of. Dude raps 2 lines out of a whole verse before he runs out of breath. The small crowd rapped more than him. Check the reaction at his shows, he can’t move the people for shit. His flow SUCKS so FUCKING BADLY without a proper studio mastering. He has NO breath control. He lets out more words than he has money. He’s N-O-T-H-I-N-G without SEVERAL back-ups. That fag needs AT LEAST 20 takes before he lays a verse down. No wonder that the crowd is DEAD at every single show. One of the worst rappers ever, don’t care if he has some good lyrics, he can’t rap for shit. Dudes would MURDER him at a live battle.

    123. How many of you gave it a 5 (which stands for REAL classics) before you even listened to it just because it says ”Nas”?

I’m a big Nas fan, but this is one of his whackest parts ever.

    124. Nobody can really claim that Nas is any more ”real” than Jay now. Dude will sell out everytime he gets a chance. Jennifer Lopez, Ross, Wayne. Nas sold out, the difference between him and Jay is that Jay admits it, which is a huge factor. Nas denies it and keeps getting back to ”real” Hip Hop everytime the trends and his marketing gimmicks allow it.

      1. ^^^^ One of the most idiotic post these eyes have seen on this site congrats.

How many songs on a typical Nas album are tailor-made to be singles? How many have R&B vocalists who dominate the tracks? 1-2 songs IF THAT might have single potential, and he NEVER lets an R&B artist overshadow him [not true for Jay; empire state of mind case in point]

And of those 1-2 that might become singles, does he dumb down his lyricism to appeal to a wider audience? NO; street dreams, if i ruled the word, hate me now, nas is like, nastradamus, got yourself a gun, one mic, made u look, i can, hip hop is dead, thiefs theme, hero are VERY LYRICAL for singles… are they the most lyrical Nas songs? Of course not… but don’t act like the man doesn’t bring lyrics and substance on commercial-oriented tracks

And what kind of content do his singles contain? Street poetry, messages to help children, reflections of his struggles with life/woman/his music, music for thugs, explanations for controversial album titles, challenges to rival MCs, commentary on the state of hip hop etc. etc. Point is Nas always gets something across even when his music has a mainstream focus

Then there is Jay… dude plain admits to selling out on wax, fills his albums with content tailored to have mainstream appeal like rapping about drug dealing, being the best ever, being the richest ever, dissing woman etc. etc… How many introspective tracks does Jay really even have? Dude has rapped about the same shit since 96 for real you Jay stans need to wise up and realize that shit

You want the definition of a sellout track? Pop in BP3 and play Young Forever… really Jay?

      2. Guy above me explained it perfectly… Jay-Z is a sellout, Nas on the other hand represents real hip-hop, troubles that niggas actually see in the hood… doesn’t glorify drug dealing and shit thats meaningless

      3. Okay.
My posts are over the place. But that’s just to balance the UNBLIEVABLE amount of PURE, UNBASED HATE that Jay gets. People act like he’s some kind of 50 Cent or Nelly, who got absolutely no talent and was lucky because other people made them. Like he ain’t of the sickest spitters ever. They act like Jay doesn’t love Hip Hop. To be honest, it sickens me. This nigga HUSTLED his way to the top, he made it off pure hard work. He battled other dudes for the sport of it, because he loved it. This nigga dropped Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album and American Gangster. Hip Hop would miss one of his greatest minds without him.

You’re telling me this ain’t one of the absolute best discographies of all time? I didn’t even mention his countless collaborations.
You can’t love Hip Hop and it’s potential then, which is much more than stripped down boom bap beats. And stop it with that bullshit that Hip Hop only is about the struggle. Is there only one side to it? There are countless different struggles. Braggadocio is at least as huge as poetry in Hip Hop. You always act like it’s some part of crime. Don’t believe that made up shit. Hip Hop started out of BRAGGING, don’t let these concious rappers, who also brag, fool you. Like I said, rapping about the struggle while being poor doesn’t make your shit any better. Nas is a modern day Rakim, Jay is Kane. Both are ICONS. Jay always made more commerical records, but he made GREAT music regardless. And someone who says that Jay’s rhymes are soulless, blatantly lies. He has many poetic tracks where he talks about the struggle and shows incredible social-awareness. He always bragged, but he didn’t leave out the introspective and reflective guy in these tracks. He always talked about the bad sides of success and fame. Dead Presidents, D’Evils, Can I Live, Regrets and countless others are evident for that. This nigga LOVES Hip Hop as much as Nas, he put on Just Blaze, Joe Budden, Kanye West and signed J. Cole and Jay Electronica. A guy who doesn’t appreciates real lyricism and talent makes that? Nas personifies the talented underdog, who is more about traditional Hip Hop and the beauty of it, Jay is more the business type of dude, who’s a swagged out, cool rapper who rides the beats and uses sick wordplay. Both of them are fucking great in their lane and they would both appear on any credible G.O.A.T.-list.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joHCfll2AGI

BTW, Hate Me Now and Hero are some of the best mainstream tracks I’ve ever heard. I love the pissed off Nas.

      4. And his unbelievable freestyle session with Big L. And you know it, Jay beat him there. If you look past L’s aggressive flow and his double-ryhmes, there’s isn’t much else. Jay had a much better flow and waaay sicker wordplay.

      5. Okay, let’s act like Jay’s introspective, poetical tracks and Nas’ commerical songs don’t exist.

        Nas doesn’t glorifiy it?

        It Was Written?
        I Am?
and his countless other tracks that appeared on his later albums where he also talked about that shit.

Yeaaah right, Nas doesn’t brag and his subject matter is soo versatile. Get the fuck outta here. LOL. You state your personal preferences as facts. The only difference is, Jay talks about his story because he LIVED it, it has an authentic background. Nas talks just as much about crimes, drugs, money and hoes. You act like Nas is a gospel rapper or some shit like that.
Nas talks about fictional persons, Jay talks about himself. Nas never did any of those things, he’s a poser and as fake as other mainstream rappers. He did nothing instead of growing up in QB, he never was about that life. So, if you call out other rappers for playing a role, you also need to call out Nas, who is as far from ”real” Hip Hop as you can get. You only see and hear what you want. Be true to yourself for once. Nas’ second best album is one where wasn’t even directly involved. LOL. That speaks volumes. Do you really like his other albums? What shit gets played besides Illmatic? Lupe and Killah Priest are much better versions of Nas. There’s a reason Jay is sooooooooo much more successful, he had a more varied sound since the beginning, progressed with Hip Hop, appealed to a much greater audience and made better and more consistent music. 11 number one albums don’t lie. End of. He will be the undisputed number #1 when he retires. Success and numbers matter for the legacy. Nobody will remeber those countless, talented underground rappers. They didn’t have an impact nor did they influence anyone. Jay is the biggest icon this genre has and will continue to be and manifest his status as the Greatest Rapper Of All Time.

”But I must point out that if you had to look in a book for the definition of a rapper you would probably see a picture of Jay-Z. He is the chosen one right now” – Chuck D.

^This and especially the responses I get don’t lie.

It’s okay to hate Jay with hilarious reasons, but you can’t even criticise Nas? What kind of shit is that?

The verses from Killah Priest are far superior to anything Nas has done this decade, from a lyrical and a rhyming standpoint.

He is the rapper you make Nas out to be. The Offering is better than anything Nas has did besides Illmatic. It has a much stronger lyrical content and there are NO singles that try to appeal the mainstream. Don’t act like Jay is the only rapper I listen to. Jay, Nas, Kanye, Common and Lupe are the only mainstream rappers I like. Everything else is pure underground.

      8. LOL at all these bullshit diatribes makes me regret even posting anything in the first place. I will be brief this time though…

Guy who calls Nas a studio rapper; don’t care if it takes him 1000 takes to nail a verse if the product is ANY verse from Illmatic, It was written, Lost tapes, Stillmatic [except smokin]. Anything from those albums tops your favorite rapper nailing his best shit in 1 take

Guy mentioning Lupe/Priest as better than Nas; JUST STOP IT. No one cares that you have deluded yourself into thinking that those dudes [who both would claims NAS as a GOAT contender fyi moron] are better than Esco

Guy who listed all the Nas tracks; yeah Nas has lots of street tales and braggadocio rap. But he has plenty of other shit you conveniently didn’t mention.

I know Nas has flaws and weak albums. So does your favorite MC dummies. This shit was about the dude that said Nas sold out as much as Jay and nothing else.

      9. All The anonymous post are one person -NAS’S Biggest Hater(a complex magazine employee)… Waste of life.

Jay-Z doesnt talk about positive shit like Nas only that negative kill your own people type shit, end point blank.

      10. did someone just say somebody else made 50 cent? hahaha dude 50 cent could buy your life, this website, and all of nas’ property and burn 10 million dollars, and he still would have more success and money than 99.9% of any rapper EVER, or entertainer for that matter, but yeah your right, he just got “lucky” haha. wow

    125. Lyrics was nice even rozay did his thing…

And for all you Nas haters saying Jay is better be serious Jay was trying to make it in the rap game before Nas, however Nas got in and blew up before him. Also Jay aint find his stlye until he listened to Illmatic and bit off Nas’s Style. #Enuff Said

    126. LOL @ THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE LISTENING TO NAS, THINKING THEY DISCOVERED REAL HIP HOP!!! HE IS AS MAINSTREAM AS IT GETS!!! DIG DEEPER, THERE’S MUCH BETTER, MORE LYRICAL HIP HOP OUT THERE!!!

    127. Nas can’t tell a story while maintaining a proper rhyme-scheme. Everytime he tells a story, his rhyme-scheme goes straight downhill. He has no real rhyming skills.
Rock Bottom shits on his career.

      1. nas is not a tongue twisting back pack rapper that can be ultra silly in his music and still be excepted……….i can reference blackthought verses and twister songs that would do the same obliteration of your GREAT WHITE KING that you obviously jerk off too next to the poster on your wall of 8 mile everytime you rewind the shady bet cypher.but why would i do that ……….you weak pathetic partial dude have a role model you can relate in between beatdowns from your local bully………so why waste my time and your the remaining self esteem that you have,—

    128. Nas is wack, Nas is mainstream, Nas doesn’t have rhyme schemes? Do me a favor, listen to the BET Cyphers. Every year, since 08, Nas is paid homage. In the Slaughterhouse cypher, Crooked I, Joel Ortiz, & Eminem mentioned Nas or paid him homage. Rap isn’t about rhyme schemes. RAP = Rhythm and Poetry. Nas’s rhymes are simple but worded perfectly and the knowledge that he drops across his tracks is great. Him being a 5%-er he drops knowledge on almost any body of work he touches. Pay closer attention.

      1. Exactly. LOL @ a guy who thinks that dropping random multi’s in makes you good in any form. Eminem himself would put Nas waaay above him.

      2. eminem would put nas before him because nas was in the game before him, and eminem doesnt ever put himself above greats and legends, nas is a legend, no doubt, but its a coin toss between him and eminem, its all what you prefer so dont go hatin suckin nas dick homo

    129. In fact, most rappers will mention Nas as an influence before they mention Eminem or Jay-Z. Understand that Eminem’s last 2 albums were garbage. I don’t care how good you think Eminem is, what happened to Eminem on Relapse & Recovery? Straight garbage albums. You’re living in the days of Encore & Curtain Calls..just give up. Nas has been in the game since 17 and he’s still relevant, still considered the GOAT by ANY rapper in the industry and any Hip-Hop head that pays attention to substance over rhyme-schemes and multi-syllabic bs that Eminem gives you.

      1. Nas isnt relevant at all in mainstream hiphop actually, and are you seriously comparing garbage albums from eminem to Nas? LOL Come on man you just spoke for every rapper saying nas it the goat, just go youtube some of the greatest rappers ever and their thoughts on eminem you dipshit

      2. Relapse shits on anything Nas has done from a technical standpoint and Recovery is better than anything Nas has do e from a pure lyrical, reflective standpoint.

Going Through Changes >>> Nas’ whack career.

    130. how does a song by nas and rick ross spark a discussion about eminem and nas? do me a favor all you eminem dick riders, everyone knows how good he is / was, you dont need to preach it.

eminem even said that nas, outkast and biggie were his inspirations in the song til i collapse.

Do me a favor hiphop dx. make a forum dedicated to eminem so we dont need to hear his name mentionned in every single song.

      1. he listed his favorite rappers. jay z was above nas btw. jay = 2nd nas = 8th under a very humble eminem.. he barely made his list.

    131. nas just lost all respect from an avid lifelong fan, just by doing a song with this fat fuck who calls white people honkeys. If eminem or a white rapper called a black person the N word, the world would stop spinning. So sick of the double standard. I put it on my mother If i ever happen to see rick ross ill grab whatevers in reach and clock that CO racist fat fuck

      1. haha wow do you honestly think, black ancestors who were enslaved, would condone and want you morons running around ignorant, selling drugs, shooting each other, sagging your pants to your fuckin knees? Thats the exact reason they fought so hard for freedom, so you could achieve your dreams and potential, NOT act like fucking morons. Way to go, you shame them more than any white racist ever could. morons

      2. Suburban ass cracka? Im white and had nothing to do with what was said, and your reply to that person’s ignorance and racism, is the exact same. Oh, and not to mention, every white kid isnt rich. Thats also ignorant and stereotypical… I had nothing, still dont have much, and have had to fight my way every day, so watch your mother fucking mouth.

      3. IF UR A WHITE PERSON AND NOT RICH U R A WASTE OF WHITE SKIN AND A DISGRACE TO UR ANCESTORS. ^^^AND TO THE DUDE AT THE TOP I SEE WHITE KIDS SAGGIN PANTS TO THERE KNEES ALL THE TIME IM WHITE I DO IT TOO. I LEARNED THAT FROM MY BLACK FRIEND

    132. wavverly willis, you better be careful bud, I live mightly close to ya, got ur info on facebook. Be careful or your kid can get snatched quick, be careful talking about someone you dont even know’s ancestors, as if every white person was a slave owner. Your ignorance is shameful and you dont want it to cost you a child, do you? Stay in your lane

    133. nas is just old and boring, evolve dude jesus christ, he has been the same for like 10 years.. wow.. i mean yea its lyrical, its cool whatever, but its just repeat shit

      1. maybe he should talk about watches or how much money he has……..oooo then he would b Jay Z…..this is for a soundtrack….Nas is one of the illest Emcee’s……flow lyrics and just talent

      2. haha you e kids r so cute, i said nas is lyrical, but he is boring and its same old same old. I can have my opinon.. I think nas and eminem are on the same level, but i hate when eminem does his stupid retarded voice songs, i think everyone agrees with that. If em focused on making real songs like renegade and lose yourself more so than goofy shit, he’d be ranked way higher on my list.

    134. fucking haters rick ross is hot holding it down 3 str8 summer so stop hating n m&Ms last two albums suck. niggas killing me like they aint rockin to that mmg shit

    135. hey guys who the hell is Jay-Z? a skater? yall mention his name too much lol

anyways 5 stars foe Nas, big shoutout bruh

    136. Yeah, let’s act like Relapse ain’t one of the greatest technical displays of all time. LOL.

Cold Wind Blows, Talkin’ To Myself, On Fire, Going Through Changes, Space Bound, 25 To Life, Untiled and Session One >>> God’s Son, Street’s Disciple, Hip Hop Is Dead, Untitled, Distant Relatives, Rich & Black, Ghetto Dreams, Carter 4 features and Nasty combined. Nas been nothing but garbarge for a decade.

    137. Nas and being good? AZ MURDERED Nas, lyrically and flow-wise in his absolute prime with a single verse on his own album.

G Rap ripped him a new asshole.

And that Eminem debate is ridiculous.
You got COUNTLESS, MEGA-SKILLED ICONS who’re S-C-A-R-E-D to jump on a track with Eminem. Has anybody ever been scared to jump on a track with Nas, who isn’t able to outshine the Bravehearts? LOL.

G Rap had far better, much more vivid story-telling AND some of the MOST COMPLEX rhyme-schemes of ALL time, not to mention the absolute VICIOUS flow. 20 (!!!) YEARS ago!!! You think Nasty is good? LOL. G Rap did that much more aggressive two decades ago, with a far better rhyme-scheme. You kids don’t know what RIPPING a microphone means. Nas has no hunger on tracks. Only fags who started with Hip Hop post 2000 would call Nas a great. Live Or Let Die destroys Illmatic front to back.

      1. Your opinion is garbage!

No black person will even put Em in their top10.

The fact is EM makes unlistenable music.

The tone of screeching geeky voice means that even went he spits “hard” – it’s not something I can drive around and listen to…. or listen to anywhere infact!!

        END OF.

There are plenty of better white rappers – let alone GOATS like NAS…

        Go fuck yourself Stan!

      2. ^^^^ Anonymous

LOL @ AZ being better than Nas. I love the dude but he needed Nas to make him a better MC for sure. He spit the best verse of his career on Lifes a bitch and he didn’t even outshine Nas despite having that bad ass hook. AZs discography is really weak minus Doe or Die and Aziatic, and he picks some of the worst beats I have ever heard. All his best tracks are with Nas too… and it pains me to say this but he is no longer worth checking for

G Rap? Nas took him on fast life for sure moron… I gave you power alone trumps anything kool g ever did in terms of creativity and vivid imagery… Rakim was better than G anyways and Nas is like rakim version 3.0

And Em? Dude is very gifted but his subject matter is straight depressing … you would think that his delusional fans wouldn’t defend him so adamantly in light of all the cartoonish bullshit he makes but I guess not… I thought dude hated people like Rihanna and Pink? Now he gets on tracks with them? what?

Heres a tip; when you discredit Illmatic you prove without a doubt that you don’t know what the fuck you are talking about… G rap/Em/AZ would put Illmatic above every one of there albums, and I guarantee that Em and AZ would name him as a GOAT contender

By the way… I assume you are the same guy who constantly posts anonymously and hates on Nas… you might be better served to do it on a site that doesn’t have Nasty as the most discussed single in 6 months

        stay losing… until next time

    138. I SWEAR IT HAS TO BE WHITEBOYS THATS SAYING EMINEM IS BETTER THAN NAS. CHICKY CHIKY SLIM SHADY HI MY NAME IS?? HAHAHAHA R U KIDDING ME???!!! WHAT DOES EMINEM RAP ABOUT?? HAILEY HIS MOM TRAILOR PARKS N HIS JUNKIE GIRLFRIEND. NO BLACK PERSON RELATES TO THAT KINDA SHIT. EMINEM SAYS THE WAKEST IMPOSSIBLE SHIT I EVER HEARD. ILLMATIC IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIMES. I CANT NAME ONE EMINEM TRACK THATS WORTH LISTENING TO THAT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE OR RELATES TO REAL PEOPLE IN THE STREETS OR HIP HOP FANS

      1. It’s not racism bro. Its the truth.

White kids relate to Em – hence the sales – and the over hype.

No Hate. Em is nice. Just not Nas Nice.

    139. allow eminem, good technically but he’s an emo bitch with a nasally voice and corny lines. the only people who put him in top 10 are faggot 14 year olds and people who haven’t heard any other hip hop before.

should probably say something about Nas – not a fan, yea illmatic was good, if it was the first NYC hip hop you ever heard. at its time it was a great album but i think dudes improved on it so when you go back to it from stuff made later- you’re like “heard it, heard it done better”

what I’m saying is I’ve got respect for Nas, he just bores me. I’ve got respect for Em too (just nowhere near as much, he hasn’t done anything worthwhile since MMLP) but I really hate his music (the beats suck especially)

hell, I’m far more likely to be listening to Rick Ross (well MMG stuff, not really a Ricky fan) than either Nas or Em.

    140. Nas hasn’t done anything worthwhile since Stillmatic, if you really listen to Hip Hop. It’s just that he gets sooo much praise for sooooo much average shit. There are rappers out there who have 2 albums that are better than his whole mediocre discography. Illmatic doesn’t put you above criticism. His next album will have 5 or 6 good tracks like all of them and nobody will play the other garbage on there. I just don’t know how you can listen to Nas and declare him the best thing that ever happened to Hip Hop, when there are artists who make much better music, street and mainstream-wise. Like I said, he has some amazing ones, but his whole career is based on lackluster verses like this.

      1. Yo stupid, dnt kill urself b4 u eventuallly meet ur Idol, NAS,n when u finally meet him, u can kiss d mofuking ring but need i tell u dat NAS dnt do guys, hes strictly bitches so dont play dat gay shit around him u fucking faggot. LMAO @ a complete ignoramus/simpleton/moron.

      2. You must be a 19-26 year old who hate Nas because he bodied Hov in the past. Get over it. They are friends now. Like dude go listen to Soulja Boy or lil wanye. You probably never heard of Kool Herc. You probably just heard of Nas in 2008.
“but his whole career is based on lackluster verses like this” really, too funny

      3. Last time i checked if you had the best album ever it did put you above the rest, that’s what the best means. And really nothing since Stillmatic? So I guess Hip Hop is Dead, God’s Son, and Untitled are just god awful right? How about you listen to his discography before you say he has a bad one.

      4. i dont really like nas neither i just dont see it.. sometimes hes pretty good but his consistensy is shit, seems like he bought a websters dictionary ad lib 20 years ago and yall call him all smart and shit, get off his dick pleese like that gay guy said up there; he dont do gay guys so kil ya slf b4 u meat him.. lol

        jay-z >

    141. ”Jay’s response was crafted more like an essay than an actual battle rap, with Hov introducing the argument, analyzing the data, raising counter-arguments, and then concluding. Prodigy of Mobb Deep was dissed on the second verse, but this was dramatically overshadowed by Jay’s beef with Nas. Hov’s shots at P focused on his small stature, smaller record sales, and the infamous “ballerina” pic he flashed on the screen at Summer Jam 2001.

The Nas portion was far more brutal, attacking Nas’ descent from hip-hop’s top MC list to a guy who was now being out-rapped on posse cuts by his bodyguard. Jay went on to clown Nas’ catalog, and on the final line alluded to sexing Nas’ baby-mother, Carmen Bryan. Many speculated Nas’ career would be finished after “Takeover,” and some believe Prodigy was never able to recover.”

      Nas lost.

      1. Fucking someone’s wife isn’t the same as being better at your job than them….

unless your job is to fuck other peoples wives.

      2. Better at his job?
Using generalizations to support your opinions about why you’re superior than others is a lot worse than
someone who only listens to the Billboard Top 100.
        Ignorance is bliss.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Nas stans are ridiculous as fuck. How do you measure success at work? Wiht opinions or with numbers? ”Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.” Jay is the personified success. You say Nas raps better? That’s your opinion and you know what they say about them. I can’t believe that you even said something that’s so fucking funny. Did you work one day in your life? Think before you post something. It’s a personal preference, but better at his job? The FACTS (You get it, that’s what counts) speak another language.

        Jay has
        – built an empire
        – sold 50 million albums
        – the record for most number #1 albums
        – won thirteen (!!!) Grammy’s
        – set countless trends
        – countless platinum plaques
        – birthed other huge stars’ careers

Jay is UNIVERSES above Nas when it comes to results and that is the only thing that matters at a job. ”Would you rather be underpaid or overrated?” There might be a dude at a street corner who raps better than both of them, but he doesn’t have the results to prove that. Jay-Z will go down as the undisputed G.O.A.T., be adored by millions and continue to be imitated, history doesn’t give a fuck about a few opinions on the internet. Jay has the better resume and the far greater legacy.

      3. Everybody – please read what this asshole has written above.

Then remember. Say what you want about Nas of Jay. Personally I love them both – I but Nas sightly ahead in term of product.

BUT Ladies and Gentleman. The battle iss over – Nas won that. It’s finished. Move on!!!

If your unsure as to why Nas one.

Play takeover – then afterwards – play either.

        Case Closed.

    142. What?!?!? No one heard of “Distant Relatives” with Damian Marley? Thats an album most true MC’s would love to put out but to afraid of leaving mainstream pop/hip/hop. Way better than that HOV/Kanye bullshit. Its what real music is supposed to be about…. not just all bitches, champagne bottles, and Lambos.

      1. Amen. Distant Relatives was fucking dope and Jr Gong handled over 95% of the production. Patience, As We Enter, Tribes At War, Nah Mean… All packed with lyrical content that discusses relevant shit… WTT was above average, but filled with Kanye’s stupid fucking nonsense and a bunch of subject matter that means nothing to anyone.

Ain’t nobody recieve anything meaningful from songs like “Gotta Have It” and “Niggas In Paris”…

Nas been above Jay forever tho so…

      2. By the way, Nas’ songs have a much better message than Jay-Z. I mean, his nickname is Escobar but that has nothing to do with the Columbian drug dealer who made billions of dollars off of Cocaine. The blatant, trend-hopping Nas. From preaching to bragging. WTT discusess much more relevant shit than DR ever could.

      3. Yeah, it’s not like Nas didn’t dedicate entire full-lengths and any newer shit to materialistic posessions and money.

      4. ^^^^ Dude who said Nas blatantly trend hops

You haven’t the slightest idea what you are talking about. In all aspects of his content, whether material, braggadocio, conceptual, political, street, introspective, storytelling or crossover/commercial, Nas remains DEDICATED to real lyricism. A trend that most certainly is not. No other rapper has done that for as long as he is. No one. You see Nas hopping on tracks with Bieber, getting hooks from Rihanna, admittedly dumbing down his product to get new fans, sucking up to the hottest producer at the moment, dropping verses to beats from other artists just to get attention? NO.

You see Nas doing budweiser ads, trying to sell liquor, mens fragrances, hocking bullshit clothes every second? NO.

But you did see Nas absolutely body the self-proclaimed ‘GOD MC’… what happened after that? Cam, Jim Jones, DMX, Game, Wayne et. al. started taking shots at Jay

But you did see Nas take a shot at the entire game and call his shit HHID… what happened after that? People took offense and lyricism was back in style [see the rise J Elect, J Cole etc.]

But you did see Nas and Damien do a full length feature album? what happened after that? Kanye/Jay did one, Em/Royce did one, Yeezy/TIP wanna do one, etc. etc.

Dude who said Nas dedicates full-length albums to material possessions/$$; NAME ONE moron… have some idea of what you are talking about before you spout some bullshit like that

And relevance on WTT? HYSTERICAL! Jay/Ye lifting off? Jay/ye in Paris? Jay with five passports? Jay with black cards, black cars, black birds, black straps? Jay a good KING and everyone else ungrateful soldiers? Jay/ye making it in america?

PLEASE. Jay/ye aren’t fooling anyone but you lames who stay misconceiving their shallow and arrogant rhymes as empowering music. New day and murder to excellence can get a pass. Rest of the album? WACK

      5. Why are Jay fans always arguing about who is the best.

It’s simple math – who has the better catalogue???

When you look at like that – it’s clear who’s lyrically and musically on top.

But who cares right?? I listened to WTT and Distant Relatives – but I wasn’t fronting like I don’t which is the better rapper. (NAS lol)

        To each his own!

      6. If his influence makes them want a successful marriage, causes them to start several businesses and aspire to be a multimillionaire then I don’t know how you can argue that it’s a bad thing.

Everybody compares all the rappers to Jay-Z, nobody to Nas.

Lyrically? A HUGE MABYE! MUSICALLY? FUCK NOOO!!! NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!

      7. Those empty phrases hold NO weight. Yeah, nobody wants to hire a loser, who can’t save his own career, to market their prodcut. Who do people associate success with? Exactly. A human L would be a very bad choice for your company. WTT didn’t have relevance to you, but to millions of others. Did you see that Nas did an album with Premo or AZ? No. So I guess he gives a fuck about his fans and Hip. Nas did all the things you accused Jay of, but the hypocrite didn’t admit it.
They all direct shots towards him, because he’s the king. Not many send shots at Nas because he’s not relevant. Who gets attacked at sports? The one who has the ball or belts (Jay) and not someone who’s standing at the sideline (Nas) And who signed Jay Electronica and Cole? LOL.
One? There are many more than that. His whole Escobar persona was modeled after a columbian druglord and not after philanthropic anti-capitalist who wrote poems. Did your forget It Was Written, I Am, Nastradamus, Stillmatic and all his recent tracks? There even where tracks on Illmatic about him being the king and getting rich by any means. Talking about being poor doesn’t make your music better nor does it change one thing. What does that change about the world? Why do guys always deny Hip Hop’s roots? It’s whole culture is born out of bragging and dancing. Those are words. I bet you guys prefer rags-to-rags, huh? What are you doing with a computer? Money rules the whole world, so it will always be relevant as fuck to talk about it. Jay clearly appeals to more people in the real wolrd, that defines his relevance. His fans go out to buy his CD’s, so it seems that they care more about the artform than Nas stans. What did Distant Relatives sell? Sad. What is Nas doing as a person for the people? Is he putting out his music for free? LOL. Ridiculous claims you made regarding Jay. He’s doing MUCH more for the people than Nas ever could.

PLEASE. Nas aint’t fooling anyone but you lames who stay misconceiving their shallow and arrogant rhymes as real music. Queens Get The Money and Hero can get a pass. Rest of the album? WACK

      8. LOL @ your delusional existence not realizing that all of Nas’ recent efforts have been gimmicks. You give him way too much credit, HHID was a nice marketing tactic and nothing else, I bet he didn’t even think of that by himself. He said that and out of nowhere he’s sucking EERYBODY’S dick to stay relevant. He praised Drake, Niki Minaj and Wayne for keeping Hip Hop alive and continues to work with the same people he dissed when it fitted his image. Have fun with that starving hypocrite changing the title to something controversial, he already announced that.

      9. Jay has songs about Hurricane Katrina (Minority Report), tons about murder in the ghetto (Murder to Excellence, Meet the Parents, This Can’t Be Life, etc.), songs about the perils of living his lifestyle (D’evils, Fallin’, Lucifer), songs about racism/racial profiling/stereotyping/society in general (99 Problems, Renegade, etc) and countless others that talk about shit like that.

      10. Jay’s lyrics are MUCH deeper and more thought out. Everything Nas says is obvious and easy to get. D’Evils shits on his career.

”Jesus can’t save you/life starts when chruch ends”

        ”Tears on the mauseoleum floor
        Blood stains the coliseum doors
Lies on the lips of a priest
        Thanksgiving disguised as a feast
Im wonderin if a thugs prayers reach
Is Pious pious cause God loves pious?
Socrates asks, Whose bias do yall seek?”

”Same sword they knight you they gone good night you with
Shit that’s only half if they like you
That ain’t even the half what they might do
        Don’t believe me, ask Michael.”

        ”See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and it’s outcome
        See Jesus, see Judas
        See Ceasar, see Brutus
        See success is like suicide
        Suicide, it’s a suicide
If you succeed prepare to be crucified
Hmm, media meddles, niggas sue you you settle
Every step you take they remind you, you ghetto
So it’s tough being Bobby Brown
To be Bobby then, you gotta be Bobby now
Now the question is is to have had and lost
Better than not having at… man.”

”Came to fruition, sort of a premonition
        Uh, uncontrollable hustler’s ambition
        Alias superstitition like Stevie,
The writing’s on the wall like my lady, right BB?
Saw it all before so they all thought I was crazy
Maybe, like a fox I’m cagey
Ah, ah, the more successful, the more stressful
The more and more I transform to Gordan Gekko
In the race to a billion, got my face to the ceiling
Got my knees on the floor, please Lord forgive him
Has he lost his religion, is the greed gonna get him?
He’s having heaven on earth, will his wings still fit him?”

”But I feel worthless, ’cause my shirts wasn’t matchin my gear
Now I’m just scratchin the surface, ’cause what’s burried under there
Was a kid torn apart once his pop disappeared
I went to school got good grades could behave when I wanted
But I had demons deep inside that would raise when confronted”

”Thank God for granting me this moment of clarity
        This moment of honesty
        The world’ll feel my truths
Through my Hard Knock Life time
        My Gift and The Curse
I gave you volume after volume of my work
So you can feel my truths
I built the Dynasty by being one of the realest niggas out
        Way beyond a Reasonable Doubt
(You all can’t fill my shoes)
        From my Blueprint beginnings
        To that Black Album ending
Listen close you hear what I’m about
        Nigga feel my truths”

”I can’t see ’em comin down my eyes
So I gotta make the song cry”

”Anyway there’s oppression the drug profession
        flourishes like beverages refreshing
sweet taste of sin everything I’ve seen made me everything I am
bad drug dealer or I victim I beg
what came first moving chickens or the egg
this is why I be so fresh I’m trying to beat life
        because I can’t cheat death”

”Sorry junior, I already ruined ya
Cause you aint even alive, paparazzi pursuin ya
Sins of a father make yo life ten times harder
I just wanna take ya to a barber
Bondin on charters, all the shit that I never did
Teach ya good values, so you cherish it
Took me 26 years to find my path
My only job is cuttin the time in half
So at 13 well have our first drink together
Black bar mitzvahs, mazel tov, mogul talk
Look a man dead in his eyes
So he know you talk truth when you speak it, give your word, keep it
And if the day comes I only see him on the weekend
I just pray we was in love on the night that we conceived him
Promise to never leave him even if his mama tweakin
Cause my dad left me and I promise never repeat him
Never repeat him, never repeat him”

”We invite you to, somethin epic y’all know?
Well we hustle out of a sense of, hopelessness
        Sort of a desperation
Through that desperation, we ‘come addicted
Sorta like the fiends we accustomed to servin
But we feel we have nothin to lose
so we offer you, well, we offer our lives, right
What do you bring to the table?”

      11. ”Follow the flow, look
(be a tyrant..)”

        ”Jeah, look
I’m so far ahead of my time, I’m bout to start another life
Look behind you, I’m bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I’m fast, niggaz can’t get past my past
How they propose to deal with my perfect present?
When I unwrap “The Gift & the Curse” in one session
Ain’t no livin person can test him
Only two restin in heaven can be mentioned in the same breath as him”

      12. BTW, Joe Budden’s lyrics are pure poetry and shit on everything Nas has ever done. Aftermath alone is better than Distant Relatives. All Of Me >>> Nas’ discography.

      13. @ Anonymous; LOL that you devoted 6 posts to responding… get a fucking life. LOL at posting Jay verses like that is going to have any effect whatsoever. I have every Jay CD dumb ass so it’s not like I haven’t heard every verse you highlighted. LOL at you using my exact words to try to make a point.

You should learn from your idol and became a Nas fan. Jay is the biggest closet Nas stan there is.

        ‘You on top what?
Copying fuck, I said it first
        You repeat it
        False crown covered in dirt
        Defeated’

        ‘The King is dead
        He running like a bitch
With his tail between his legs
STILLMATIC still eye for an eye
        You wanna be god?
You just the next rapper to die
        Fucking with NAS’

      14. Great. No all these faggots start posting lyrics. Great.

Last point. It’s a matter of preference but you just can’t deny some facts.

Nas has always been more content diverse – experimental lyrcially. fact.

Some of those subject matters didn’t even appear into much later in his career (black empowerment, politics, education etc) as he matured.

Jay has always been a better businessman man – marketing driven.

As for the music – it’s for decide what you prefer – or in my case – like the most.

If your afrocentric, educated and read alot like me – than Nas is your boy.

Chill with all the hate. Just respecct that some people will never but musicc like Jay’s over musicc like’s Nas’

      1. Ross heard Nas flow and took it. Ross only has a few flows and this ain’t one of them.

Nas creates new flows all day.

      2. LOL. You don’t know shit about Hip Hop. LOL @ Nas being a flower. It’s basic as fuck. Pharoahe Monch and Royce Da 5’9” are rappers who create new flows.

      3. Nas puts Pharoah and Royce in the ground with his flow. NY state of mind? purple? one mic?

YOU don’t know shit about hip hop…

and I’m not even readin your lame ass comparison of the two to him. What amazes me is your ability to ride dos dicks at the same time.

        Bitch.

      4. The only dickriders on this site are Nas fans.
What’s so special about these simple-ass tracks? LOL. Thank you for posting PRIME EXAMPLES for his shitty standard flow.
Since when is Nas known for spazzing out on tracks? The flow he uses is fucking basic and simple to do. He rarely changes it. LOL. Pharoahe’s performances as a part of Organized Konfusion and Iternal Affairs SHIT stylewise on anything Nas has ever done. He stole the idea for I Gave You Power off Stray Bullet. Royce flowing like a rapgod on Hell: The Sequel DESTROYS anything Nas has ever done. You know exactly NOTHING. You don’t even know these two I posted, you dumb fucktard. That’s why Nas stans are the absolute worst. They make shit up about their idol while they ignore the truth. You delusional stans need a reality check.

      5. I hate all these kids listenin to hiphop now. i remember when NY state of mind came out. I dont remember anyone saying anything like his flow being simple.

P.S Im not saying Pharoahe and Royce are not good. you just CAN NOT deny the impact nas has had and the skills he has

    143. WORD, NAS IS THE KING IN MY EYES, JUST TOO MUCH ACTUAL FACTS/POLITICALLY CHARGED MUSIC IN HIS CATALOG. I AINT TALKIN BOUT SALES EITHER, BUT HE IS ONE OF THE BEST.

      1. Classic? really? you are going to be bumping this song with basically the same hype when you hear it in 10 years from now? 20? that is what classic means to me and I thought most of the world. I don’t even think I will be playing it next week. But that’s dope you found something you like. Classic?

    144. I lost all respect for Nas making a song with Ross, who once again rapped about bullshit, so disappointing of Nas, his new shits getting worse

    145. If your looking to watch a new fresh artist, who self-produces and delivers dope hip hop check this video out, The quality is top notch. You wont be dissapointed, Type in godseNt – “Lunar” in youtube’s search bar, and check out the 20 year old’s latest video from his upcoming second mixtape “No Days Off.” A lot other music is up along with this video, enjoy and thanks a lot !!

    146. for the lames who said they lost “RESpect” for nas for making this joing, go listen to new Dj premier feat nas and symphoney orchestra, shit is Epic and pure fiiire!

    147. nas ethered Gay z
nas > gay z end of story

btw WTT makes a good weed plate
jay needs to stay off nas’s dick
      distant relatives>WTT

      1. hahaha, that’s a good one. WTT killed that piece of garbage distant relatives. I like Nas buts that cd was straight trash. WTT isn’t a classic or anything but it was pretty solid. I use it as a weed plate too tho, right before I bump that shit.

      2. Distant Relatives wasn’t bad by any means, but the sound was, similar to I Am, waaaaaayyy too polished for the content.

    148. idk why hip-hop is embracing this fraudelent ass nigga… yeah, hes’s nice, but it goes deeper than lyrics… gotta be authentic/official/REAL/talk what you live

      1. music doesnt have to be real to be good it can be a story..you aren’t supposed to take everything so literal. Rick Ross isn’t nice; he’s straight garbage. I never understood the point of him.

    149. Its simple :
      Illmatic>reasonable doubt
      IWW>IN MY LIFETIME
I havent heard vol 2 or vol 3 but ill give jay z the benefit of the doubt seeing that Nastradamus is nas’ worst lp and we’ll say vol 2 is better than I am.
      Stillmatic=blueprint
      Gods son>gift and the curse
      Black album>streets desciple
      Hip hop is dead>Kingdom come
      Untitled>american gangster
      Blueprint 3 life is good?
      Distant relatives> Watch the throne

In my book thats 7-4 to Nas

      1. man i think nas is sick i dont listen to em that much but how come every damn time i go to one of his songs his big fans are always comparin him and jay? every single time just get off jays dick man there both dope.

      2. i agree with naz for the most part. and get off his case. main reason i check out comments is for ones like that, better than”this shit is a banger” lol, me and my boys always debating similar shit.

    150. it’s okay and I’m a NAS fan from time…him live in concert is heavenly….however Im thinking only reason him and ross on the track(s) cause the industry thinks ross is hot…nas could use the money too(kelis you gonna rot)…ross is decent however when u never really lived or seen it then it doesn’t come across the way it should…meaning when you a CO at 19 you can be Big Meech in your 30’s….but really??….never heard a ross track and was like shit I need to rewind that line…but I bet everyone thinks there big leech…lol…NAS good attempt but P is home kadafhi is home and AZ and cormega been waiting for you hell I would rather hear what the brave hearts could come up with again cause ochie wally wally still banging in the whip! I’ll give it a 3 cause I like the beat and anything with NAS gets a pass

    151. i’m glad Nas didn’t bring his A-game to this joint. It just would end up on the soundtrack to a crappy movie regardless…..

    152. This track goes. I’m surprised. Didn’t think a collab between them two would come out like this.

      Follow Me – @DefinedByChoice

    153. I dont get it..so many Nas bandwagers on this site…
People like Drake and Ross be gettin so much hate on this site. Yet when ROss do a single with Nas all these sheep start clappin….
Drake has been putting out fire consistently – call it sugar rap or what you will his flow is undeniable
Nas WAS one of the greatest, but right now he easily not…cry about it sheep

      1. was kinda understanding where you were going, until you said “Drake has been putting out fire consistently”. Even though I don’t necessarily agree with you point about Nas, i can understand what you were saying (similar to how i feel amout em)…but you lost me at that drake comment homie. i know you gotta be crazy to say drake is dropping fire consistenly, then in the same breathe say Nas WAS one of the greatest. GTFOH

    154. dis iz dope nas and ross killed it!!! check my people’s out on youtube just type in BLACKLAWREBELMUSIC give feedback.

    155. i just dont feel Salaam Remi production. fuck this bullshit Nas. Go get with my nigga AZ and let Primo get the boards! Primo shit compliment your vocals, son! AZ spittin that fire on his new joints too…

      1. Word Yo, Salaam Remi is responsible for some of the worst music Nas has ever put out. He’s a talented producer overall, but him and Nas are just not a good match.

    156. Honestly thats the best verse Ross has ever come with. You can tell he tried he ass off because he’s on a track with one of the greatest lol

    157. Nas is a very talented individual and there is no saying that is one of the best of all time. But through the years his has fallen off. Honestly Ross is on the top of the game right now, and Nas needs any little hype he can get. Overall its a great track

      1. Dude Ross begged Nas to appear on Deeper Than Rap and I think Nas is swerving a Ross featuring on his 10th album by bumping him off on a soundtrack. Do you honestly think Rick Ross is a better rapper than Nasir Jones?

    158. Every day you guys make such stupid comments. If you don’t think Nas and Ross killed this, maybe you don’t like or understand hip-hop culture. That’s all I got to say.

      1. hahahahah

whats so amazin bout them lyrics? they are average, at best, i could easily name 50 better rappers than ross. and what the fuck is with the ‘hughh’ thing he does, fat wack nigga

      2. This is what I mean, you goof, its about having fun. Why the hell do you think rap was always super deep? Was Run DMC on some illmatic or Rakim lyrical shit? No but they were still one the most dope groups to ever do it. Stupid kid.

      3. Its about havin fun?? This song is called “It’s a Tower Heist” …whats fun about that?? You cant compare Run DMC rappin about Adidas to a Nas song called Tower Heist. Two different lanes. If Ricky wants to have ‘fun’ he should keep rappin wit DJ Khalid not Nas the legend. C’mon Son!

    159. ross says the same verse all the time!!! dont fit with nas.. Nas needs to snap the fuck out of it to i want a new album!!

    160. Fuck anybody who can’t rate this song more than average. Oh and stop being jealous against Ross, only because he’s doing his thing to create awesome music.

    161. Sorry not listening or rating this shit, NAS homie what you doing??? reason I didnt cop styles album is cause of this scrap you cant make a song with this dude and expect me to respect you anymore….if so im condoning bullshit. gotta stand for something. and for all those who say good music shouldnt matter well good music should have truth and your character should stand up for it….Ross uummmmmm????

    162. 5 Stars for Nas
1 Star for Rick Ross=3 Stars overall

When is Nas new album coming out man I guess 2012?? Fuckin he needs a new deal where he can actually release his music, fuck def jam.

Nas is soo much better then Rick Ross. Nas needs to collabo with Tech n9ne. Someone actually on Nas’s level.

      1. Dude listen to “Usual Suspects”. Both Ross and Nas went hard. Ross may not be on Nas’ level. But he is a pretty ill MC. He has been killing his guest spots lately too.

    163. you guys are beyond retarded if you even claim nas is fallin off BECAUSE he collaborated with some guy, who holy fuck he isn’t soulja boy or gucci mane people, ross isn’t good but holy christ.. let Nas collab with whoever he wants, it shouldn’t demean his talent or stature.. unless he calls up Bieber or somethin’

for fuck’s sake, he appeared on Carter 4.. and collaborated with Wayne even BEFORE that.. Nas is beneath this shit and so should you.

    164. (Rick Ross) He didn’t spend a 100 on a watch, he got a 100 thousand dollar watch from Dr. Dre for his birthday, as a way of saying; since you can’t afford it yourself, I bought you a Hublot…
