    1. the saviour of hip-hop

if he dropped tomorrow he would prob sell as much as french montana did

    2. Joey has mad talent and his only 18.. NY hip hop is making a serious comeback. Joey, Action Bronson, Ka, Roc Marci & Meyhem Lauren are all doing their thing.

    3. kanye album yeezus NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER

you can only purchase the album on JUNE 18

      THIS SUCKS ASS

    4. Dude is average at best…People are getting caught up in nostalgia cause he raps over 90’s sounding beats. When you think about the actual artists from the 90’s, he doesn’t compare.

      1. Average at best? I would say a rapper like Drake is average. I would say Meek Mill is average. Joey aint the best rapper in the world but hes better then your average rapper. If you heard his second verse on Hardknock I dont see how you can say hes average at best but to each his own I geuss. Niggas like you are still gonna be comparing rappers in 2023 to 90s rappers and shit. I put Kendrick Lamar over Biggis Smalls. I think Good Kid M.A.A.D. city was a better album then Ready To Die, concept wise, production wise substance wise and lyrically. I enjoyed section 80. more then Life After Death I can relate to it more and I liked the production alot more.

      2. ^ I agree but mainly because I was born in the 80’s and I remember when BIG and PAC was out – weren’t no be calling the the GOAT at that period. Only when they died did this Top5 shit start….

BIG & 2PAC – weren’t fucking Wutang or EPMD, or Kool Rap at that period… that was a non debate. These were cats getting that crossover money… but best lyricist?

      3. I like K.Dot over B.i.g cus his music pertains to me more (90s baby), he says some real shit in his music I can actually relate to and it always sounds good, all of Bigs music is Gucci socks this Big poppa playa that I just don’t get anything from it. Alot of people would say Big > K.dot just cus Big is more of a legend without subjectively looking at their bodies of work and making an honest judgment. Big is still one of the greatest though if you like him more then k.dot im not mad at that.

    5. you gotta hand it to the kid for putting himself out there and taking the industry by storm with his interesting flow. i find that its very hard to be too critical of anyones music as long as they aren’t superficial and fake like most rappers now a days. as long as your music is unique and original and not completely shitty sounding then your good in my book.

    7. some people hate on Statik production but I dont understand it. Joey and Statik have great chemistry.

    8. every beat without the same 808 sounding kicks and snares will be considered weak by the spawns of tainted weedheads and malt liquor drinkers… aka listeners born in the 90’s! This track is nice in all regards!!!

    9. I thought the production on this was dope. Just a simple piano loop and hard hitting boom bap drums nothing wrong with that.

    10. Funny how this is one of the hottest rappers out.

If he came out in the 90’s niggas would skip his verse.

      1. ^ Its crazy isn’t it? The only rapper who ride this in 2013 is a 17 year old rhyming in Big L flow with a Nas rhyming pattern with a golden era cadence….

And compared to any of those album Joey’s Stuff is second rate.
No hate I love this kid. Just says how under represented this type of sound is….

      2. Maybe back then he wouldn’t be as revered. Doesn’t mean he sucks or anything though. Keep in mind his age and potential.

It really comes down to us wanting more golden-era sounding songs rather than this French Montana Gucci Mane trash

    11. statik stop making wanna be hard beats. the beats and cuts sound like a subpar premier production

    12. lemme check this shit out
      rhymes-5
      metaphors-4
      flow-4
this shit was garbage and the beat was shit also

    13. There’s beauty in simplicity, pretty good for an emcee that hasn’t even dropped a full length album yet.

    14. “Word is bond. I’m busting on Giuliani; he rubbing my niggas wrong.” -2Pac on Big L’s Deadly Combination from “The Bigger Picture”

    15. This is the future of New York, this kid is just starting and bangin! The lyrical content is insane!

    16. I don’t get all the hate for Joey. He’s the best around and I’ve been constantly playing his shit, and this is coming from someone who only listens to 90s like big l, dmx, wutang, big pun.
The kids not on the level of those guys but hes close and his production is sick. He’s also got energy like no one else and you can tell hes not just in it for the money like guys like lil wayne, drake, ross

    17. Joey will be a beast if he polishes his flow a little more. He also mumbles at times which makes him hard to understand. He’s starting to get hyped up because people are stuck in the 90s and they’re just dying for things to get back that way.

    18. ITS 2013. Joey Badass would of came at the media differently in the 90’s plus he has came out differently spitting larva in Survival tactics … Joey Badass dont relys on a simple beat and a chorus in fact im sure when he started making music he was making it with his crew just for fun ! they made it ! Primo sees potential in the kid so other producers and many others ! i’ll keep supporting cause hes a young head

      1. you dont know shit about rap because joey is a old school rapper and hes trying to be different from all these other rappers and macklamore is no way better then joey badass

    20. @mr. no you do not know shit about rap because joey badass just started and macklamore is no way better then joey, and joey is on his own shit he wants to be different because hes more like an old school rapper.

    21. niggas always comparing him to them old dudes amd saying he wouldnt held his own back then, cuz they know most of this cats that are out there right now aint fuckin with him plus hes just starting..

    22. Funny how I grew up in the 90’s yet his music does nothing for me personally. I’ve already been through this sound & my tastes have changed…..and this beat is kinda too much of a Premier rip-off too. I respect him for looking up to the old school though

    23. Not sure if anyone caught it, but I believe thats Capital STEEZ in the water if you look close enough.

    24. If you think this beat “sucks” you are a faggot and/or an idiot. Fairly generic Statik Selektah production but the epitome of boom-bap (you faggots go look at the dictionary). Joey Bada$$ killed it.

    27. I love what Joey Bada$$ is doing right now, it took till early this month for me to fully appreciate this dude. I know he isn’t the greatest rapper ever, but his lyricism is good enough for you not to pick at, I mean we’re not comparing every rapping to the lyrical ability of Nas or Kweli and his flow is a real strong focal point for him.

But the fact he’s showing appreciation for 90’s boom bap Hip-Hop is fantastic (and at that age!!) I think he’ll just inspire more youngsters to come through and pay more homage to the golden era.

I just think for a teenager to come through and want to work with the likes of Premo, Madlib & DOOM over the likes of Hit-Boy, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League & Bangladesh is fantastic.

It’s great that young Hip-Hop fans have flocked to him and this sound, maybe they’ll go to more MCs of this date making this sound. The likes of Reks etc. etc.

    28. this is hip hop.

this and that masta ace track “i did it” made my day today. i’m gonna be bumping these all summer.

      1. you do know that Masta Ace track was on the Son of Yavonne album, right? Shit’s been out for like a year
