Yo,I ain’t saying nothing’s wrong with gangsta or any other rap persona but Heavy D wasn’t gangsta, he wasn’t conscious per say but he was hip hop! He did him. And I think his album Vibes was underrated and overlooked by many. It showed his versatility and it showed he was truly an artist. I never heard anybody say he was ,especially before his passing but he WAS a LEGEND!
@GBraw73, I feel the same way about VIBES !! That project is nice as Hell !! Something told me buy it awhile back and I was pleasantly surprised at how dope it was !! Heavy D was his own man and thats what we always loved about him. His versatility was the shit. He never fell off, just got overlooked by the new crowd.
Yo keep them Tributes coming he deserve’em! and I wasn’t dissing no other type of emcee either I like it all as long as it’s good hiphop from whatever region or time. I’m just saying Dude was nice and he stayed in his own lane no matter what! After Troy had his accident he did put more love and life messages in his music but he still did him and stayed dope!
