HipHopDX Premiere: One of Strange Famous Records’ latest additions, Dope KNife, has teamed up with Canadian producer/Fake Four affiliate Factor Chandelier for “Midnight Nation,” which is very loosely inspired by 2000 comic book of the same name.
“I try to write whatever the beat make me feel, and the beat reminded me of that book,” the MC explains to HipHopDX. “I went and read it again, and then wrote the song the next day.”
The Georgia native and founder of the Savannah record store/label, Dope Sandwich, just wrapped up a tour with fellow SFR artists Cas One Vs. Figure and B Dolan, which also featured DJ Abilities on the 1s and 2s. The skilled lyricist is intent on making a splash (or uh, gash) on the international Hip Hop scene and presumably just getting started. Listen to the new track above.
