    1. Damn, Lupe dropping knowledge again. Bass nectar is dope. I’m sure there will be plenty of bitching about the style though. Some of the lines are going to go right over the average persons head, specially on this site.

    2. everybody who say Lupe fell off when he dropped Lasers needs to actually listen to the album and then realize that he did the best job possible with the situation he was given by his label.
      Words I never Said
      All Black Everything
Lupe aint back, he never left

      1. I gotta agree somewhat. Lasers had shitty production MOSTLY there were some bad songs rapping wise. I almost lost faith. Almost.

    3. LU is dope. Givenchy flow, presidential, soulful, specific, complex yet blunt. Considering a G.O.O.D music signing

    4. this is actually tight, lupe has potential sometimes he just blabbers but hes talented.. needs to get a little harder on tracks + better production

    5. Who’s got the glow sticks!?! Lupe’s been sniffing the molly. This might be kinda tight without the candy ass synth and chorus

    6. lupe is hands down one of the g.o.a.t.s…it just sucks because it actually takes intelligence to appreciate/understand his music and most people are dumb

    7. Gather round, kids. I’m going to tell you the story of Lupe Fiasco, a rapper who made two good album, and then nothing but garbage, for the rest of his life…

      It’s a cautionary tale.

      1. I totally feel that. I like Lupe, but the kid is over rated as hell. The first album was good, not great, the 2nd was ok and I don’t even know what happened on that last one. I remember reading that article from one of his main producers that was calling him out about being scared or some shit of taking that big step. I mean he had Jay and Ye backing him as that next dude…. What happened?

      2. food and liquor was just good? Did you actually listen too it?, hurt me soul?, pressure ft Jay Z?, American terrorist?,It was a classic. I will be listening too it 10 years from now. He isn’t just lyrical his song concepts are out of this world, listen too all black everything one of the only good songs on lazers. This particular song is ok.

      1. @angel you’re a fucking joke faggot, next to jason, Wayne is lord, yadig, you’re the biggest dick riding fag around

    8. just being honest… this just sounds like a bad remix. could have been done much better i expected more.. just not that good.

    9. hahahaha lupe fans…..

this is a weak track, yes lupe fiasco can rap, but hes not made a nice track since his 2nd album. overall, lupe is average and im not a hater.

      1/5…fact

      1. i mean he hasn’t made a hot track since his second album if u never listened to lasers…but then again if you did listen to it then that just means you don’t know what good music is. main stream isn’t always the best thing

      2. go to sleep was straight but i agree w/ you mostly..this is meh

@danny: lasers was just ass man its the truth Lupe is alot better than that weak ass project he needs F&L2 to save him

    10. I can’t even remember the last time he made a song without somebody singing on the hook. Look, I’d be a fool to say that Lupe isn’t a dope MC, but he’s gone soft, straight up. All this crooning on every song is wack. Made a fuckin’ rap song bruh. Stop tryin’ so hard to make radio friendly hits. We used to call that a SELL OUT.

    11. This is for the people who said this was weak.

“Funny how Im only sick if you never catch a thing
Argue with your friends over what really the record means
Back and forth about its course, with professors refereeing
Why he so rebellious? Up-front with his realness?
They wanna be Fiascos, reproduce his failures
Emperor is his alias, but not Marcus Aurelius”

THIS is the Lupe Fiasco I love. THIS is what makes me support him. Lupe just slapped everyone in the face with this. It kind of hurt.

    12. Great beat. Great lyrics. But not a great song…it just doesn’t work.

Get back on the Food&Liquor flow Lu!

    13. song goes in, like this new sound lupe has, this shit is pretty epic tbh, cant wait for the mixtape an the album.

    14. Dude I have been waiting and waiting for a rapper to work with the best dubstep producer of ALL time and who better than Lupe. This is def one of the best songs Ive heard this year. Hands down. No question. 10 out of 10

    15. I am a “Hip-Hop head” and though I’m not a huge fan of this beat, his lyrics are AMAZING…. Best lyricist out now. Stop hating on the beat and peep the lyrics and message.

    16. ey braskies this is ellie’s song first of all you gotta respect that just like bassnectar respected that and how lupe respected that… now all the feelings of ellie are all of the aboves including mine and yours..yall niggas turned to stone for you guys are the fans in the air lupe describes in his freestyle. im just another spiritual general tryna keep my souldiers in place. live and let live

    17. Lupe the best thing out since Nasty Nas. The Golden child of Hip Hop in this era. dude got mad flows. LUPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    18. This would have been perfectly fitted to Lasers. The beat is horrible and not Hip Hop, the chorus is a cheap brit-pop mess and Lupe isn’t anywhere near where he used to be, he used to blow my mind, now he just sounds like an above average mainstream MC. Atlantic have ruined this guy, what’s with that high user rating? Goes to show the age of the people Lu is attracting now.

      1. what a joke. anyone saying this is lasers because they don’t like it is ALSO a joke. Are people forgetting Lupe has picked rock songs and music from dam near every genre to rap over. People that are saying this isn’t the real lupe never knew the real lupe.

    19. U ppl do realise that the beat and chorus is already a ellie goulding song right… it hasn’t been made specifically for a lupe song, its jus been remixed wiv lupe spittin over it

      1. Thank you….this came out a long time ago. Fag-boy Lupe made it a gay song. Much better as a standalone Dubstep track. Didn’t need this fag boy remixing it.

      2. Fag boy?

Your ignorance amuses me and your lame ass insults only signify that you are one of many who wish Lupe would dumb it down to your level…

        Faggot.

    20. At first I didn’t like it. But now its just like WOW. Can’t wait. I stil bump ENEMY OF THE STATE. Hands down one of the greatest mixtapes ever. It is my favorite.

    21. Lupe is the GOAT! He unifies all the skills of the greatest in their categories. He is the only on one who has the skills to be number one in every single category. Most well rounded rapper of all time.

    22. Love Lupe and I love Bassnectar so this gets my approval immediately. Lupe is definitely not where he used to be tho. I unfortunately agree that everything Lupe did with Atlantic records has kinda softened him up. I hope he can take the reigns again soon tho. I’m looking forward to his next album, hopefully it will smash Lasers because when I listen to a Lupe track, it shouldn’t be playing at a club. It should be played as Theme Music To A Drive-by, put it in your car and cruise.

    23. Anyone who says Lasers was even remotely good probably hasn’t finished high school yet. Atlantic was trying to sell records and Lupe was unfortunately put in the position to either release the album finally or sit on a shelf another few years. I got 30 songs just off the top of my dome for you younger/newer Lupe fans to vibe too. Shit that makes Lasers look like, well, look like everyone who hates it is absolutely right.

It’s like Nas. Dope flows cannot save him from shitass production. Only difference is Nas stayed on his hood shit instead of letting the label he’s on change his style entirely. Lupe didn’t have a choice tho.

      FnF U-P, UGK 4 Life.

    24. Lupe = Officially BRITNEY SPEARS, anyone that litens to Lupe Fiasco post The Cool is a Justin Beiber fan, YOU FUCKING FAGS.

      1. You, my stupid friend, are ignorant. Don’t ever compare Lupe Fiasco to Justin Beiber or Britney Spears unless your trying to look like you don’t know what your talking about. In which case you’ve over exceeded here.

    25. Lupe needs to switch fuckin labels or something because Lasers pissed me off and this is making me angry. It’s sad because he’s still a beast, but the production just doesnt work.

      1. He’s obligated to finish his shit with Atlantic, but man when he does I can’t wait. He will come back with some fantastic mind-bending shit that will once again captivate us. I just hate how I hear people say “Lupe is too smart, I can’t get into him cuz I don’t understand what he means half the time.” and then a year later its “Oh, Lasers sucked, fuck Lupe”. Like what the fuck you talkin bout? Someone who wants to hate is gonna find a reason to hate, it’s that simple. Lasers was horrible, but any real Fiasco fan knows that he had no control over the wackass production and hooks on that bitch. And his lyrics were completely overlooked because of it.

        Nas, Tech N9ne, Lupe, Outkast…
If you include any of these Artists to be “Wack, Washed-up, or Fags” than you have no idea what your talking about and you should switch genres. Go to PolkaDX.com or SuckoneDX.com

Or go listen to some polka while sucking one… either way.

      2. the majority of society is the reason lupe is not hot right now and honestly he will never be. and when i say hot i mean everybody is listening to him. the lack of knowledge our society has is the reason lupe and underground rappers are not successful. people do not like to think about music and thats what lupe does. andbtw i am a life long lupe fan andd always will be…and he is the greatest..even in lasers you can hear lupe trying to be himself even with the horible beats and hooks atlantic gave him. FNF^

    26. im on lupe! unconditional fan! i love this and i love a lot of songs on lasers! he can’t be young lupe no more yall! listen to what he sayin…

    27. This sounds more like Ellie Goulding & Bassnectar featured Lupe Fiasco instead of his own song. GARBAGE. Could be a Lasers leftover.

    28. calm down he’s just pullin a wayne and rapping over a song that is big right now and it happens to be pop. that’s what mixtapes are people leftover tracks and “freestyles” over popular songs

    29. Fuckin Awesome!!! Love at first hear lol…4 out of 5…The hook and the beat took me away!!! Lupes verse is kinda mediocre and didn’t go well with the rest of the song tho…But the beat and the hook carried this song…

    30. My take on the whole matter is either your gonna hate on Lupe or not. I feel that now people are waiting for something to drop from him so that they can start hating automatically. And it’s comical that everybody says that Lupe has pointless lyrics and such, this is weak, and that they don’t like the song. Or is it that you just didn’t get what he was talking about. In my case Lupe is as better of an artist then he was back then. Let the man change and grow and stop all this hate. I don’t know either way though it’s still 5 stars from me

      1. So in other words, you’re saying that either someone has to like everything Lupe does, or they’re a hater? That’s the short-sighted elitist attitude that has buried Hip-Hop. There’s no objectivity. Either you’re a ‘hater’ or a ‘dick rider’. What about mothafuckas just having an opinion on the song? I think Lupe is a dope MC, but I think this song is wack, so what category do I fall in?

    31. The beat takes all the attention away from him. A beat should always compliment you, but never carry the whole song. He sounds very uncomfortable on this one and the main focus should always be the rapper.

    32. Food & Liquor was a classic, The Cool was out of this world lyrically, but also was the first album that lacked in the musical department.

    33. My only promise is I’ll never ruin the young
I’ll never human the sung lyrics in a spirit that’s
Superhuman to some, keep you pursuing the sum of
Slums, plus, get up out of them, plus, never forget
      Just where you from, plus
Make sure you ballin’ when you come back up in them, plus
We don’t die, multiply, every single come-up
      Rum-pum-pum-pum..

      Wow!

    34. I have a suspicion that if Lupe had sampled A Tribe Called Quest or some other old school hip hop beat on this track there would be alot less negativity.

    35. I DONT EVER COMMENT BUT THIS IS GREAT. READ THE LYRICS. GOD SO MUCH MEANING..EVERY LINE sorry bout the caps..good shit 5 star

    36. Can someone please explain to me these lyrics:

trying to FBI my panther, CIA my sankofa
      infiltrate my carter.

Uncover undercovers turn those maids to Bubba’s mothers.

Take the hero out the Nino, keep it real as trouble trouble huh?

Or maybe cartoon Martin on the Boondocks

Like I said I dont get it…I have no idea what these are reference to.

      Thanks

    37. Nobody writes on the same level as Lupe. Meaningful lyrics, great flow and delivery. I’m convinced he would rap circles around anybody…on any beat..about any subject.
5/5 and I’m not even a fan of the beat (I think he chose to mix the song mostly because of the chorus), but whenever somebody is delivering metaphors this deep and creative you can’t hate. Well you can’t have a proper reason for hating, cus niggas gonna hate regardless.

    38. @quest

Black Panther was infiltrated by FBI

Sankofa is a word in Ghana meaning “to take back” it is also a movie about slavery, and a Ghana symbol representing a heart… triple entendre!!

      wiki Bunch Carter

Bubba’s mother is from Forrest Gump, when her son dies, Tom Hanks gives her his money or something and she gets rich

Nino is a Wesley Snipes character from a movie playing a glamourized thug, but there is also Ninos Heroes, wiki that

      Youtube Martin Luther King Boondocks…

Real ish, Lupe is the best to ever touch a mic, y’all are wack as hell if you don’t think this bangs… THEY WANNA BE FIASCOS, REPRODUCES HIS FAILURES!!! that’s only a a beast line if you’ve heard Lupe’s song Failure.. either way man, he went off

    39. Oh yeah, and to the haters that say this is Lasers leftover? Did you even hear the lyrics? This man is talking about his Vans that he dropped, and Occupy hash tags, this is brand new!!! Euro trash?? Best flow in the world, on a dubstub beat, no one touching this demigod “I’ll never human the lyrics sung in the spirit, that’s superhuman to some”

      1. Word. Lupe is by far the most talented rapper to ever touch a mic. Food & Liquor = best album of the last decade.

    40. Forward it to 1:15 and we got Lupe Back!

Remove Ellie Goulding and Bassnectar and we got Lupe Back! No offense to Ellie and Bassnectar. We Need Lupe Back! Lupe is like the only rappr that I need to sometimes read his lyrics along with the track lol.

We need Lupe Back! Its ashamed he didnt put this deep shyt on the album because people are stupid. Food&Liquor 2 bettr be super lyrical like he said and the production? The production is just as important, if it sounds wack, im not really gonna listen to wat your sayin’.

      1. dawg, the man named the album Food and Liquor 2? It’s gonna be the album of the year, lyrics, production, concepts, everything. He knows that he took major L’s for Lasers, he is gonna straight SNAP, spazz, whatever you wanna call it on this album man, I can’t wait.

    41. I bet if you averaged the rating of the all the songs released by an artist, Lupe would have the highest rating without a doubt. Dude never seems to make a whack song. Also, his fans are kinda stanish so they’re always consistently rating him above 4. Which is understandable given his prior work.

    42. Shit is FIRE. Can’t wait for the mixtape. This is proof that not only can he have sick lyrics in 2011, but have a poppy/techno/electro sounding beat and it STILL sounds dope. Wish this was on Lasers.

    43. Y’all catch that slick line “New Gang Alert, Hash Tag Occupy” Yo sum of u niggas need to just appreciate Lupe For Lupe if he wants to make a song like “Cant get you out of My head” and then make a song like this he has every right to do it y’all talking about how u miss this Lupe sound stupid this nigga never left he just cant rap about the same subjects on every track Lazers is one of the best albums that dropped this year

    44. Not my personal favourite, but.. dayum he can spit circles around all these kids claiming to be king.
“Funny how Im only sick if you never catch a thing”

    45. He’s unbelievable with metaphors. Only Elzhi comes close. Most well-rounded and best ever from a lyrical standpoint. Not only that, he’s able to produce beautiful music with incredibly dope lyrics.

    46. Lupe!He needs to go back to rappin,i understand wut hes doin with all that occupy wall street n occupy Oakland but hes a rapper too i miss da dope insane lyrics.

    47. Just got a ton of new music and yet I find myself hitting the play button on this page over and over. Really good track, has the same kind of sound as the good tracks from L.A.S.E.R.S.

    48. It cant be an official single because the beat was made a while back and hes just putting it on a mixtape. Damn though. The bass is fucking dirty on this. Like FUCK!

    49. its funny how y’all praising him but when he did “can’t get you out of my head” and “show must go on” y’all talk about he went pop. SMH fans today are sum flip flops. not all of u but most of u.

      1. Atlantic Records FORCED HIM TO COMPROMISE. Lupe said it himself. I can bet he probably did not like this song either.

      1. Kendricks got lupe all day but thats just our opinions there both nice, however I seen lupe live and he sucked and honestly theres a lot of better stuff still . . .anyone in shady records “2.0” would smash most likely both kendrick lupe bob cole and krit throw currency and wiz in there too ya know what i mean its all just different type of rap… I’m calling for more hip hop sub genres.

    50. Dubstep is taking over the world. J. Cole and Jay putting together a heavily influenced beat. Bob and lil wayne the same. Now this with an actual Dubstep producer. Next thing we know this country is going to crawling with Grime MC’s from London.

    51. Honestly, I Feel Like 90% of the bloggers didn’t even come close to comprehending what was said in this song. It’s fucking frustrating when you get dissed on a song as a fan and you keep coming at it like he’s the shitt. Listen before you comment you irrelevant nonsense bitch. 5 stars.

    52. Dope track…of course

Im I the only one who sees tourch being passed from Jay to Kanye…Nas to Lupe

So is it fair to ask is Chicago the new NYC in terms of rap (too far huh)?

      1. Chicago has always been dope as fuck. Capital D, Vakill, Juice, Iomos Marad, Kayne, Common and Lupe are just some of the most amazing.
