So yea, if you want to get educated, all of these are artists that I respect, Em is in that tier of artists, better than some, not nearly as good as others. As for this song, 3/5 is about right.
So Em is dope, but people overrate or underrate him like fuck, he is a top 50 all time emcee, maybe top 30, which in the history of hip hop is still insane (if you actually know your shit)
I think the big thing about Em is the longevity of his career. Not many artists can say they’ve been relevant as long as him. Of course same can be said about several others, but about about 5-10 on your list.
His music also has so many different styles, which I believe is why is fanbase is so big. Dude has every style in the book.
Sorta, this is just my favorites list, as for Em well, all he really did was bite Treach’s flow off of Yoke the Joker, which was fuckin insane, he has other styles, but that song sounds so much like a lot of his earlier material, just as far as his flow, it’s incredible. The other thing is that while most of these artists are underground, I would say that as lyricists, they have the potential to make music for a while, so it isn’t just about longevity, more about potential and the love for the craft, and just from watching Em with Ice T, I can tell that he still loves the craft, even if his sound isn’t what it used to be.

You need to listen to Baby, Wicked Ways, Brainless, the Stan 2 track, Evil Twin, Headlights, and a few others. Those saying he fell the fuck off will completely change their minds. While lyrically MMLP 2 is Em’s tightest work in years, the production, hooks and song arrangement of this album sinks this project. This song is a prime example, Em is spitting but the beat leaves much to desire and the hook is ass. In the end this reduces what could have been a great song to a 6/10 at best and forgettable much like the rest of this album.

Here’s my review the album is 7.5/10. Better than Em’s past three albums, Lyrical delivery is a 9/10. Em always have amazing flow, but his substance is lacking ands betas are poppy. By substance i don’t mean random metaphors thrown together, I’m talking content and purpose. No real reason for him to still be angry, to still be bashing pop stars, I know that’s typical em but people talk growth, I don’t see much here. I don’t think em at 41 should still be mentioning how he was “shoved into a locker” This album is alot more mainstream than I imagined, but I understand he’s appealing to a wider fan base. Bad Guy great song, but compare it to Stan and it just seems forced.

So yea, if you want to get educated, all of these are artists that I respect, Em is in that tier of artists, better than some, not nearly as good as others. As for this song, 3/5 is about right.
So Em is dope, but people overrate or underrate him like fuck, he is a top 50 all time emcee, maybe top 30, which in the history of hip hop is still insane (if you actually know your shit)
I think the big thing about Em is the longevity of his career. Not many artists can say they’ve been relevant as long as him. Of course same can be said about several others, but about about 5-10 on your list.

Sorta, this is just my favorites list, as for Em well, all he really did was bite Treach’s flow off of Yoke the Joker, which was fuckin insane, he has other styles, but that song sounds so much like a lot of his earlier material, just as far as his flow, it’s incredible. The other thing is that while most of these artists are underground, I would say that as lyricists, they have the potential to make music for a while, so it isn’t just about longevity, more about potential and the love for the craft, and just from watching Em with Ice T, I can tell that he still loves the craft, even if his sound isn’t what it used to be.

the album sucks. its more wack than recovery was. the beats a like some gay ass country shit or pop. oh and wheres the dre beats? nowhere. Best song is the first track of the album, or the last. Really big disappointment. Still waiting some real hiphop album to drop this year. MMMLP was classic, Eminem Show was a classic, even Good kid maad city is kinda a classic. This is not A Classic album.

Here’s my review the album is 7.5/10. Better than Em’s past three albums, Lyrical delivery is a 9/10. Em always have amazing flow, but his substance is lacking ands betas are poppy. By substance i don’t mean random metaphors thrown together, I’m talking content and purpose. No real reason for him to still be angry, to still be bashing pop stars, I know that’s typical em but people talk growth, I don’t see much here. I don’t think em at 41 should still be mentioning how he was “shoved into a locker” This album is alot more mainstream than I imagined, but I understand he’s appealing to a wider fan base. Bad Guy great song, but compare it to Stan and it just seems forced.

I was just thinking about how all these 40+ rappers need to get their vision together, actually trust their audience and elevate the game. I think Raekwon and Nas set high water marks for middle aged rappers at this point. De La Soul get props, but they were *always* moving toward maturity.

True, but what is more important the solid verses or the hooks? The overlying theme on this website is that hooks are more important then lyrics and content. No wonder em gets hated on so much.
After a few listens this song is ooookkkk at best. Lyrics on point beat/hook is decent. I’m a EM fan so I tend to overacted his work, which is what the essence of being a fan is in my eyes.

TRASH. Should have never made the album. Hook should have just been scratching of “thanks for the support, asshole.” All of her hooks sound corny. Legacy is a great track but she almost ruins it. Trying too hard or something.
