    1. thats heat….First Nas’ single and now this from Common? Lyrics to go

Hope that rumored Common/Nas album gets released.

    2. i know this track speaks about a summer in the hood and everything but im tired of these consciousness rappers rhyming like they see butterflys and angels
everywhere while they walk on a rainbow handing a flower to their moon lover

    3. who raps about butterflies and angels ? what are u talking aboout ?

      1. you jump on your favorite rapper’s dick so quick that you dont even take the time to read properly what has been said

didnt say he raps ABOUT butterflies and angels but he raps LIKE life is a box of candies and he riding a licorn through the hood on a rainbow among the stars and the fairies

    4. Gatdamnit!!! It’s about time, brother!!! Common and NO I.D. back on their regular and timeless material.

We need that 87th Street Common back. And we got it with this.

      Thank you. Keep it going.

      This is the “Chi-Town Nas”.

      Yes.

    5. I’m glad Common has gone back to his old style. I respect his growth and his progression throughout his career. But I’ll take this style over that neo-soul shit any day. Oh, and No I.D. has been one of the most underrated producers in HipHop for damn there 20 years now. One.

      1. Word. Common is talented, even on his poet pedistal, but this is the Common I bump to. No I.D. is always bring the creative beats.

      2. Common had one solid album, that was even mediocre compared to modern day classics such as ‘6 Kiss’, ‘I’m thraxx’, ‘Rain In England’, ‘llusions of Grandeur’, and soon ‘I’m Gay’

        Lets go!!

    6. Dam fresh from the White House visit to droppin’ gutta’ leaks like this?? Doesn’t get any iller than that!! 5 Stars all day!

    7. WoW! Com’s Back! Stick with NoID…

I Consider Common the greatest rapper ever…when you compare his full body of work to everyone else’s. Com gimme another classic album soN!

      1. This shit is forgettable, come to think of aside from 1 or 2 — his entire discography songs are forgettable. overrated ass commercial ass nigga, i ain’t even hatin’ that’s whats up!

      2. RESSURECTION? Top 5 Best Hip Hop Album Ever.

        Can I Borrow A Dollar
        LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE
        BE!!!
        Finding Forever

I’m sure his next one is gonna be a classic if it’s anything like this.

    8. Classic Common is back we need another Resurrection from my boy Common thats one of the most slept on albums in history

    9. this song is incredible, the vibe and mood of the beat depict the madness and hysteria that happens in the ghetto around the summertime period where everyone is coming outside more often…

    10. Regardless if it’s his song featuring No.ID or the other way around, this is some good shit right here…

    11. this has been a long time coming, common first three albums was produce by no. id, this here is homecoming, and it sounds good

    12. common never dissapoints and I mean never. All of his lp’s are something consistent and unique…..long live commmon chi towns nas…..

    13. I HATE THE TERM “CONSCIOUS RAPPER” or “NEO SOUL RAPPER”. WTF does this mean? That these so called rappers actually think about the shit they write? Why not consider Eminem a “CONSCIOUS RAPPER”? or even Nas.

      1. yea it is stupid, i think what they are trying to term is the fact that he talks about social issues that are acceptable to talk about, whereas what eminem says is often considered out of line

      2. I agree, and add the term “Hip Hop Ccomedy/Comedian” to that list of hates. What the hell is a hip hop comedian??? I’ve heard that term used so much it’s freaking annoying to no end.

    14. I agree with “Obviously” – WTF is up with this ‘conscious rapper’ shit. Most of the rappers who are considered ‘conscious rappers’ are some of the BEST rappers around, they r MC’s, poets! THis daaamn industry ppl need to Check they shit, n rewind. They should remember what a ‘rapper’ or ‘MC’ is, before they put these loers that come out now n call them ‘rapeprs’ n call wat they do rap music. They are abusing the name of Hiphop, by putting this HIP-POP shit out…Shout out to Common, been waiting for u a while man!! Can’t wait till Nas drops new album, Eminem is a REAL rapper, best RAPPER ever – 2pac! (real shiiiiit)

    15. I Think the song is solid. The lyrics are introspective and the beat is a good sound track. I just wish the track was a little more open to allow me to hear commons lyrics more and there needed to be more lows in the track to give it depth. N.O.ID is one of my favorite producers but him and kanye tend to occassionally do tracks that are almost all highs which compete with vocalists. Especially the softer spoken cats with a lot to say. Now if a loud rawkus lcd rapper was on this track it would have been ok to be moisey because they would have cut through the noise better.

    16. Always good to hear a lyricist romance a tune great concept…puts the Misunderstood in perspective. that was food for thought people. “And you say Chi City” I’ll give it 4 wish it was more but I’m coping regardless.
