    1. Man I love it when broads use black eyeliner on the corner of their eyes, that shit is sexy as hell. Amy Winehouse RIP.

    2. y the hell people with the deep talent have such awful flaws. well it’s all good, maybe other talented people will see this as a lesson. all of us can learn from this….this girl is awesome, just like dilla, mike jack, man life is a dream jew, but it’s a great dream filled with a lot of awesome shit to experience. learn it!

    3. So somebody’s got to die before Nas is willing to release good music? So pathetic how these musicians act exactly like the politicians they so adamantly disagree with. They’re just as much open to corporate lobbyism as the f!@#s in congress. “Oh wait this will be popular since this person just died, now I can release it and the record execs will be happy” … People aren’t happy with shit music, they’re just accepting it because there’s nothing else, the same as there don’t seem to be any clean politicians so they vote in dirty ones. Complacency is the unifying theme which allows it to continue, all and all both scenarios are analogous. I’m happy he finally released something good, but god damn keep it coming please. You got “elected” to this point by making good music, you are the electorate now represent the people that voted you in.

      1. All her unreleased music is going to be released you dumb fuck. It just so happens that one of these songs are with her good friend Nas. They recorded this together and were good friends. He didn’t jump on this track after she died you cum bucket. Go to hell.

    4. Nas rips another hole through the stratosphere:Nas with no regard for musical life:He continues to separate himself from other all time greats like 2pac, Rakim, and Biggie:He’s beyond this world and only when he’s no longer apart of the genre will people REALLY respect what he was about & dare i say he’s even a better poet that 2pac:

Nas is EASILY the greatest rapper of all time and if there was ANY doubt, he verses here on this song should’ve ended all speculation:

Life Is Good > Life Itself:

      5+/5

      1. damn get off pac’s dead. insecure ass nigga. cant give a nigga props without putting other niggas down? sounds like pac really got you shook nigga.

    5. Arrest Nasir. He is Amy Winhouse real killer. See the way he just killed this beat? Damn Nas you didnt have to do Amy like that.
      R.I.P. Winehouse
      R.I.P. Beat

    6. If NAS isnt in your top 3 you dont know rap music.

      1a. Pac
      1b. KRS I
      3 Nas.

The rest you can argue over.

Put up your favorite rapper and I have a song or concept he hasnt done that these three have.

      1. see the problem is u said FAVOURITE- peoples tastes arent just who is the best rapper overall.. now if u who is the best rapper and who makes the best rap music, then we can argue, but ‘favourite’ is to subjective

    7. is this a track they did 2getha or did nas just spit to this beat and put some old winehouse onit????

      anyone no??

    8. Certified dope. I have a good feeling for his upcoming album.

Guests: Scarface, Kendrick Lamar, AZ, Mobb Deep, Ghost & Rae…?
Production: Alchemist, Salaam Remi, Preemo, RZA, Statik Selektah?

      1. why the hell we need the same ou same shit, not enough ? Nobody cares about those artists, exept Kendrick. Mobb deep is past, Rae and Ghost are on some other shit, Statik not on this level to make a classic anniversary album, maybe for lost tapes. Nas going nas. Its not anymore music only for basement auditory. So stop dreamin’
Dont go to the past, just look to the future

      2. Well you’re just deluded if you don’t recognise AZ and Scarface as quality rappers.
Oh yeh and the ‘future’ of hip hop if we’re looking at what we have on offer now is relatively weak.

      3. I agree my friend about AZ, most underated of all time.
But future it does not mean, to be P or the duo Mobb to get on the track with everyone who is hot right now. Thats another part.
Kanye, I.D., Blaze just couple of producers, what it means you can be on the top with right artists, like Jay Z. J Cole isnt the future ? He’s ok and will be I guess so.
We dont need to talk about parties and bubles to be on the right track. There are many examples about artists, who can find the right gap between auditories. Am I not right ? Thats not extremity
So Nas , Iam not wondering, will do this thing

    9. @rise and shine

They actually got together for this track. It was recorded sometime in May 2008. This track is also one of the lead singles for Amy’s posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures. The album is set to drop December 2nd. So yeah..if Nas doesn’t drop in Nov or late December, his new album is going to come out early next year.

      1. STFU! There is always something better than something else. What’s your point? Just rate the song and shut your lips jackass

    10. Lyrics really good, I really like the hook, Beat was good too…4 out 5…Good job Nas and Amy…Nice combination…Everything flowed together so perfectly

    11. Too godly. Honestly, this is too much for this decade.

if you didnt give a 5 of 5, stop listening to rap. please.

    12. OK FOR REAL THO, WOULD DRAKE AND J COLE BE ABLE TO RHYME LIKE THIS 12 TO 13 YEARS FROM NOW ? LETS BE REAL !

    13. NAS AINT THE KING OF NEW YORK HE IS THE KING OF THIS RAP SHIT! BEEN HOLDIN US DOWN SINCE ILLMATIC! HE IS KOOL G RAP, RAKIM & 2PAC IN ONE PERSON

      1. i mentioned again because he been bodying every track hes been hopping on the whole year dog shit, nasty, verse of carter 4 outro and so on on you dumbfuck

    14. im not a big fan of the beat (probably cause im into that raw 90s hip hop shit), but Nas fukin murdered this shit for real! anywayz look out for the new Roc Marciano track called Emeralds… that shit is pure heat!

      1. Haha was a joke, was just wondering how quickly it wud take an internet gangsta to try and abuse me in some way….there we go ^

    15. you cant deny that even though the beat is weak..nas destroyed this!!
she did know who the best in the game was, she was infatuated with him..
but for real, without nas..i would go blind

      1. It’s not really supposed to be a hip-hop “beat”. It’s more of an r&b/soul joint, and it’s well produced.

    16. haha nas kills this and hes the goat? calm the fuck down. goats kill everything. he’s top 5 but not the greatest. this shit cray though..

    17. straight fire…havent heard a song this dope in a while, something about amy that soothes the soul along with some dope rhymes from one of the last greats, makes me wanna almost cry and believe there is still life in rap

      1. So basically you’re saying a good emcee would have killed that ish. Nah, he don’t belong in Slaughterhouse, not at all. He’s too funny for them dudes. They’re all good but Crooked is the only one that makes me say OH SH*T

    18. Nas IS the GOAT. This is commonly accepted by every real Hip-Hop fan and every legendary rapper. Listen to the BET Cyphers since 2008. Every year they pay homage to Nas. This year, Eminem, Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I mentioned/alluded to Nas in their cypher verses. It’s no coincidence. Joe Budden paid Nas homage in the 2009 cypher with Nicki Minaj, Cory Gunz did it in 2008. Nas might not have 1,000 multi-syllabic rhymes that you nerds fiend for…but he’s a great lyricist. He drops knowledge, he’s one of the last ones left. You’re stupid as hell if you don’t think Nas is the GOAT or at least Top 3.

      1. As much of a Nas fan I am, Obviously might be right, in fact, Black Thought might actually be the greatest rapper of all time.
So that means the top 5 is BT, Nas, Rakim, KRS and, yeah, I guess JayZ (hurts to admit)

      2. Listen black thought is in the top ten, not top five hes has to many features on his albums to be considered top five..dice raw and other members of the roots are on 50% of his albums

      3. That’s a weakness. You have to be able to drop multi-syllabic rhymes with substance, Nas can’t do that, all his lyrics are simple as fuck, always the same structure.

Black Thought, Lupe Fiasco, Ras Kass, GZA, Pharoahe Monch, Illogic and OneBeLo are just a few rappers who SHIT on Nas from a lyrical standpoint, not to mention that all of them have a way better discography.

If you see the comments below the Nas tracks, they give ”mindless drones” a whole new meaning. He IS overrated as fuck. The people who rate him so highly, don’t know shit about rap and hate Jay because they think they discovered ”real” Hip Hop with Nas. Dude is fake as fuck and the most inconsistent of all time.

      1. Nas overrated? You fuckin serious? If Nas was overrated, everybody and they grandma would know he’s the best rapper alive.. Asshole

      2. People on the internet call him the greatest, but nobody, not even those so-called fans will go out to support the album.

      3. His fans are mindless sheep when it comes to his music. They always act like he drops ”Memory Lane”-verses on every track, NOTHING about the songs he released recently is ”amazing” or ”special”. This is good for what it is, nothing more, nothing less.

      4. dont get me wrong…he is a dope rapper..but every time he put something out yall flip a shit….
Imma say something and I know i will get hate for it…
Drake has been killin it lately…consistently better and he be gettin so much hate on this site…imma just say this and lets see what happens:

        Drake > Naz (right now)

        Lets have an educated discussion

    19. Change ”Wayne” with ”Nas” in these comments and you could think it’s his homepage. Not many, aside from 50 and Wayne fans, are that deluisonal.

    20. It’s always shocking that such a big soulful voice bellows out of her. She was a great singer. I’m not just sayin’ that ’cause she’s dead. You already know Nas is the King.

    21. NAS IS THE GREATEST ………… ALL THE HATERS NEED TO HOP RIGHT BACK HIS BANDWAGON OR LISTEN TO ILLMATIC IN A CLOSED ROOM BY YOURSELF.

AMY IS THE BEST R.I.P TO HER LUV U

    22. dont get me wrong…he is a dope rapper..but every time he put something out yall flip a shit….
Imma say something and I know i will get hate for it…
Drake has been killin it lately…consistently better and he be gettin so much hate on this site…imma just say this and lets see what happens:

      Drake > Naz (right now)

Lets have an educated discussion right now

      1. more populair..(however u spell it) but think about the mark nas has left on hiphop…will drake eventually do the same…maybe…

      2. prefer listening to drake right now thats forsure. looking foward to take care..whens the last nas album anyone has looked forward to?

      3. when was the last tine anyone was waiting for a nas album? …how about right now…we are so many that hold our breath to see a realese date

      4. Many? Let’s await the sales to see if you so-called fans support your guy. This album will NEVER drop in December. You have to wait at least until March. Nas has to think of a controversial title and a gimmick before it’s ready to go.

      5. HAHAHAHHAHA DRAKE > NAS???? It hurt me just to write that….. EVEN IF NAS NEVER PUT OUT ANOTHER ALBUM…. EVEN IF HE NEVER RECORDED ANOTHER VERSE…… DRAKE WILL NEVER EVER NOT EVEN WITH HIS BEST SHIT, WRITE ANYTHING CLOSE TO WHAT NAS HAS EVER WRITTEN…. 1 Word iLLMATIC….. DISCUSSION ENDED……. degrassi boy could be relevant right now because the game is so dead….. but Drake better than NaS??? you gotta be out your mind… i rather listen to iLLMATIC 1million times than any drake album twice…..

      6. The production team deserves waaaay more credit than Nas. They let him shine. If you listen closely to the lyrics on Illmatic, they weren’t that great. Nothing too special. If you dismiss other rappers for being fake, you also need to call out Nas.

Soul On Ice, Liquid Swords, Doe Or Die, Resurrection, Mecca & The Soul Brother, Black On Both Sides, Illadelph Halflife, Heavy Mental, Train Of Thought, Rip The Jacker, Food & Liquor and The Cool are all lyrically superior to Illmatic.

Nas fans are sheep, repeating Illmatic because everyone else said it.

      7. Wow you just called out at least 5 of my favourite albums all time but there is no reason to call Nas mediocre because he can not stand up to masterpiece’s like Illadelph Halflife for example. Nas is one of the greatest because of his total package it ain’t nothing mediocre about it

      8. iLLMATIC had no lyrics??? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH SHOOT URSELF U DUMB ASS….. IF UR NOT FROM THE HOOD THEN YOU PROBABLY DIDNT KNO WHAT HE WAS TALKIN ABOUT SO YOU CANT RELATE….. MIND YOU HE WAS 17 WHEN HE RECORDED iLLMATIC….. SMH HIP HOP FANS ARE STUPIDER THAN YOU THINK…

    23. alright here’s my thoughts:
Naz is a legend..always has been…but I agree there are a lot of bandwags Naz cult fans on this site. There is no such thing as objective opinions on hip hop sites
but here we go: I think Drake has an unstopable flow right now. Lyrically he raps about money and girls. If he changed his lyrical game and kept his flow he would be one of the greats…right next to Naz maybe…………………….

    24. Stop being a dumbasses and assuming conscious rap/rap with a “message” = skill. Better content does NOT = talent.

You can be lyrical as fuck talking about money, you can drop the most lyrical verse ever talking about your car. Nas is NOT very lyrical. It’s not WHAT you say, it’s HOW you say it. Guys like GZA, Lupe Fiasco, DOOM and Canibus SHIT all over Nas.

Nas did NEVER say anything that impressed me from a strictly lyrical standpoint. Everyone could write a verse like this. Nobody would call it ”good” if someone else would’ve said that.

Nas does nothing that your average underground/mainstream rapper can’t do.
He could never pull off tracks like ”Queen’s Gambit”, ”Guessing Game”, ”Poet Laurate II”, ”Accordion” or ”Dumb It Down”.

”Colder than a penguin pussy?” REALLY? This is WORSE than Wayne/Big Sean lines.

      1. this nigga said MF doom..lol..com’on sun you cant compare him to nas please stop lupe has one classic album laser was wack nas is one hes tenth album 20 years in the game still better than these clowns..GZA is SUper nice but an entire album wit that cat is super boring he does have to of a solo catalog..moving forward only compare artist with serious catalogs to Nas for example
        Jay z
        em
        common
(i would say kanye but homie dont write all his shit)
        KRS ONE
        Tupac

      2. All of them are nice, but nobody comes close to Nas. He dropped the best Hip Hop album ever at a very young age, influenced the most respected MC’s, has the most legendary guest spots, the greatest longeivty, reinvents himself all the time with unique and creative concepts and is one of the few who were able to unify real Hip Hop with commerical appeal and success. GZA? Has like one album people care about, an annyoing voice and the most monotonous flow ever. MF is nice rhyme-wise and creative, but doesn’t have the skills nor enough musical appeal. Canibus has to be a joke. That nigga is a bitter fuck who hates anyone that ever had success, his ”music” sounds dated as fuck and his flow might be the most terrible ever. Lupe Fiasco? LOL. This dude wouldn’t rap without Nas. I don’t need to say that he called Nas the Supreme best and thinks that It Was Written is the best Hip Hop album of all time.
Nas is the undeniable GOAT, there’s no discussion. All of the guys you mentioned would put him in there Top 3.

      3. Anyone claiming NaS is G.O.A.T has never heard of AZ apparently… you know, that guy who KILLS NaS every time they jump on a track together? Yeah, that dude.

      4. Nas can’t rip tracks, he doesn’t have enough mic presence, that’s what people tend to forget. He been destroyed SEVERAL times by his own people. AZ and Cormega murdered him on Affirmative Action, he was SCARED of Canibus on Desperados, Cormega is a better writer and AZ the much better rapper. AZ always been that dude when it comes to pure ryhming skills. Nas can’t fuck with him when it comes to rapping ability, the way AZ tackles beats is univerese above Nas. That’s a FACT.

      5. your a fool, nas is one of the most lyrical rappers of time. if you want to be impressed go listen to ether. kills jay z.

      6. Ohh, what’s lyrical about that one-syllabic, simpleton shit? The same insults you hear on every schoolyard is being ”lyrical” now??? Hip Hop has to be at it’s worst. Calling the man that fucked your baby mama and left condoms on your baby seat ”gay”? Calling someone who wifed Beyonce ”ugly”? While you can’t keep an ugly ass hoodrat like Kelis? Calling someone who showed you your first weapon and dealed more drugs than you’ve ever seen soft? How fucking unbelievable is it to say that Jay traded his soul for riches and that you are his employee a few years later??? To say that Eminem murdered Jay, when you were too scared to trade lines with him. Was he as afraid as he was of Canibus??? So afraid that his own verse wasn’t included. What is worse, being outshined by an all time great performance or being destroyed by the lyrical titans every respect rapper is scared of, known as The Bravehearts??? All the critics use the claims Jay made on Takeover. It destroyed Nas. Ask yourself, where did the change in Nas’ attidude and music come from? Was that a subtil admitting of his faults? Jay made him change his whole style and music, because he KNEW that he was right. EVERYONE shitted on him, from It Was Written to I Am…, his real fans turned their backs on him. Nobody would remember that fool if it wasn’t for the feud with Jay.

Jay signed (!!!!!!!) Nas after he exposed him in public. The human L lost. Deal with it.

      7. Ilmatic rose the bar extremely high lyrically, and in order to be the best of all time or one of the best (nas is top 5 but not GOAT IMO) you need to be a COMPLETE ARTIST. NaS is a good lyricists, has the best concepts, a good flow, good subject matter, etc. Lyrically top 5? No. Overall top 5? Yes.

      8. that colder than penguin pussy line, according to salam remi both their producers, is something amy winehouse said between them, your missing the point of this song which is sort of a tribute to one of his biggest fans and a “homie”, which was amy winehouse

    25. Reading some the comments on here just made me want to throw my lap top… But yo, if you a real fan of hip-hop, Illmatic && It Was Written should be in your top 5 greatest albums of all time. Nas a legend. You young dumb niggas need some act right forreal.
THIS MAN GAVE YOU A CLASSIC BEFORE HE WAS 18!!!!! By the way this track is very dope. R.I.P. Amy Winehouse.

    26. Some of u cats is straight assholes with some of your comments…. Drake better than Nas… R U SERIOUS? Any nigga that sings on 50% of his album is borderline JaRule…who also was hot for a few years if u recall and what happened to him….but Drake as well as the rest of them cats on that list will tell u themselves there not in that niggas league….Nas has the deepest and purest catalogue in rap… PERIOD!!! Not just illmatic either….My opinion thats not even his best album…. Nas=Your favorite rappers favorite rapper! 90% percent of that list will be irrelevent in 2-3yrs…real rap

    27. My favorites Nas albums are:

      It was written
      I Am
      Stillmatic

Everybody keeps talking about illmatic. I really have to sit there and listen to it again one day to see why people keeping saying thats like his best album. I know that song on there titled it’s yours was a classic.

      1. there’s no song titled Its Yours on Illmatic, maybe you’re right, you should go back and listen again

      2. It had innovative production and rose the bar 500x higher lyrically. It Was Written is my personal favorite NaS album but Ilmatic was the best. I mean, I was to make a top 50 hip hop songs of all time list, tracks 2-6 of Ilmatic would make the list.

    28. Great collaboration. 2 amazing artists, and Nas is definitely solidifying his spot as the GOAT. He has been killing everything he touches

    29. Q: What does Amy Winehouse have in common with Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Kurt Cobain?

A: Nothing, they were all talented musicians.

    30. Great track. RIP Amy. Now… all you dumb fucks taking digs @ Nasir;

You don’t have to call him the GOAT. Thats fine. You don’t have to like tracks like Tower Heist, albums like Nastradamus, beats by Salaam Remi. No artist is above criticism. But claiming 20+ albums top Illmatic, Nas anything but top 3 of all time, artists like Doom, GZA, Lupe, Canibus, Drake & other no-name underground fucks trump Nas, Jay didn’t get bodied in the battle, Nas not lyrical? I have to say that last one again… nas not lyrical? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MINDS?

Take your favorite artist and his best four albums. Oh I forgot; drake and lupe don’t even have four albums! Anyways, compare those albums to Illmatic, Stillmatic, It Was Written, and Lost Tapes. Tell me Nas doesn’t prevail against any artist you can think of. I mean really. I would love to hear a well-founded contrary argument.

Lol @ Lupe, whose only arguable classic was modeled after IWW, and who has claimed Nas to be the GOAT on several occasions. LOL @ GZA; liquid swords was nice but his flow is more monotonous than Guru’s and he is flat out BORING. LOL @ Drake; dude has NO classics, admitted honing his skills by listening to Nas, and caters to high heels and emo bitchmade fake rap listeners. LOL @ Canibus; DOESN’T HAVE A DECENT ALBUM TO HIS NAME. Lol @ Doom; lyrical sure, but no credible opinion would put him in a top 25 list. And AZ? Nas brings out the best in him and always has. He has no concepts, limited storytelling ability, limited range of subject matter etc. etc. Aziatic and Doe or Die are nice; neither can see IWW

There are plenty of Nas stans on DX. I myself probably am one. There are plenty of Em and Jay stans too. Ever think there might be a reason for that? Maybe it’s because these artists have accomplished things that are indisputably great, deserving of iconic status and acclaim as rap legends. Lupe, Drake, GZA, Canibus, Doom: WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY EVER DONE? I MEAN REALLY?

Nas studied under Rakim/Kool G/KRS/Kane. He dominated the charts amongst Pac and Big. He battled artists like Jay. He created UNDENIABLE CLASSICS. He is idolized by great MCs, envied by lesser ones, respected by EVERYONE. You fucking losers can whine all you want about Nas stans, but this dude has truly done it all. Twenty + years and dude is still relevant, still a legend, still making your favorite MC think twice about challenging him.

And I’m done. If you can’t realize that what I am saying is true THEN YOU ARE FUCKING LYING TO YOURSELF.

      Til next time…

‘Rule 1 cocksucker keep my name from your tongue
Rule 2 thought you knew don’t fuck with GODSON
Rule 3 see… matter of fact I’ll just wait
If y’all reach top five then I’ma eat ya alive
Each one of you guys that claim hip hop is still alive
Like y’all ain’t in agreement with Nas
I SHOW YOU ITS DEAD BITCH’

      1. He is TOP 3 for sure…but the fact that he puts out mediocre shit and everyyone callin it FIRE or 5 stars just because its Nas is just ….its just….its just not bein Real

isnt the whole point of Rating something supposed to be objective??

        I mean come on…………………..

      2. i couldn’t agree more… the only thing i trully hope for, is that when nas shit drops , us, real fans will buy the damn album..not downloading it..

      3. @comachonvargas….I salute you! Nas would be proud…he is BLESSED to have a fan like you! I’m truly proud to be a Nas fan…he is truly the GREATEST!

      4. To get to the point my favourite rapper is Nas. But I think:

‘Lupe, Drake, GZA, Canibus, Doom: WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY EVER DONE? I MEAN REALLY?’

That’s being a stan. If you can’t see what rappers like Lupe, Bis, GZA and Doom have done for the genre you don’t know hip hop. They are great rappers. It doesn’t matter how good Nas is, I still recognise their skills.

        Also AZ is a legend.

      5. What a fucking clown.

        Listen to this:

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJ_c59OBrgg

and tell me, without lying to yourself, Nas ain’t the biggest L in Hip Hop history. But don’t worry, I know that you will think of other shit to excuse this. He’s sooooo fucking fake, it’s unbelievable. The way he manipulates the people and especially his fans is without competition. Dude has NO integrity and WILL give up on ALL his principles if there’s a chance of making money.

Making a track like One Mic or an album like Distant Relatives and then going on to DEDICATE WHOLE songs to materialistc posessions is not only dumb, but BEYOND fake.

ONLY Nas can do shit like this without getting shitted on.

NOBODY dissed him, it was you and other people who shitted on other talented rappers because you wanted to let Nas shine brighter than he is.

It wasn’t about Nas not deserving the status that he has, but more about his fans being robots when it comes to his music. There is NO artist that only drops fire, so why do his fans ALWAYS act like he raps a ”Memory Lane”-verse on every single track? This defines the word ”overrated”.

His new album gets delayed because he has to wait for a controversial topic he can name it after.

      6. @ JJ EVANS;

Biggest L in hip hop history LOL… Nas exaggerates, embellishes, plain makes shit up? Maybe he does… GUESS WHAT; YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER DOES TOO… nobody gives two shits about what you claim to be truth BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW SHIT… like Kool G said; YOU CAN’T BE A GANGSTER AND A RAPPER AT THE SAME TIME… any rapper who has ever claimed that has probably lied so that criticism applies to all rappers and is meaningless when applied to Nas… Pac went to art school and was a backup dancer for Digital Underground and people act like he was the hardest ever… GTFOH with that bullshit

Let me explain something to you… just because you can make socially conscious music and at the same time rap about materialistic shit doesn’t make you fake and contradictory… you’re telling me that because Nas portrays himself as someone who drops knowledge that the minute he departs from that he is fake? I have an idea… Nas should dedicate himself to dropping only ‘real’ shit with no commercial appeal that way he can go double wood while at the same time satisfy your conception of what it means to be ‘REAL’… meanwhile Soulja Boy and Wayne can sell millions with garbage club tracks and Jay/Ye can parade around like they are god’s gifts to the rap game

Should Nas just rap so that he can remain real while being broke? A dude with 3-4 classics and arguably the greatest discography ever should have to validate his authenticity to dumb fucks like you? LOL… I guarantee you wouldn’t compel Jay to do this

Nas didn’t get propped up dumbass… he hardly ever has singles… his promotion is weak… his production is mediocre at times… he isn’t doing commercials for fragrances and booze… NAS SUSTAINED HIMSELF 20+ YEARS BASED ON THE STRENGTH OF HIS MUSIC ALONE

I’m out… stay losing and I will catch you the next time around

      7. You’re a professional underwear cleaner. Gza, and Doom? No-names? That shows you’re a common dick-rider, and not a true hip hop fan. You just named two respected, and among the best pure lyricists in hip hop. And they had albums out when nas was a “no-name” fuck. BTW, they came up with their own styles. They didn’t bite off G.rap, rakim, and slick rick like ya daddy nas did. You’re a broke jackass hyped off the next man’s vain glory. Wrap a noose around your neck, and go hop off a building.

      8. Guy above ^^^^^^

LOL pump your brakes. I know GZA and Doom have skill and some accolades sure; but do these dudes stats hold up next to Nas’? Of course not. And that was the point… to illustrate that it is ridiculous to claim either one of them surpasses GODSON. Focus on CONTEXT next time and you will better understand what I said.

Don’t act like Nas bit off Kool G/Ra and Slick. He was INFLUENCED by them of course, but you don’t hear him ever using their lines and withholding credit from them [like Jay]. Matter of fact, anytime Nas mentions any of them he gives respect.

As far as being broke goes, you’re going to have to try harder than that. Mid twenties and about to fly into six figs doesn’t equate to being broke in my book. I am an engineer and future patent attorney btw.

‘Hyped off the next man’s vain glory’ – still laughing about that… not exactly sure what it means though

Don’t catch feelings so easily next time… and btw GZA doesn’t even have the best album out of all the Wu tang members

      9. Finally someone who is able to articulate to others what WE TRUE HIP HOP HEADS been sayin for nearly true decades, very people if any in the hip hop genre can touch NAS! Why because dude is so versatile with his flow, subject matter, and no two albums sound the same. Nas always finds new material to present to his fans and critics alike. I’m not surprised that Nas made this type of song with the late Amy Winehouse R.I.P. The man is a TRUE ARTIST that just happens to specialize in hiphop. From Illmatic, It Was Written, and especially the Lost Tapes,
Nas has proved to all that he is about giving you REAL MUSIC that you can listen to even years after his albums drop

    31. R I P Amy you will be truly missed. Classic music right here it feels good 2 hear real hiphop I don’t wait the game is coming too. Can’t wait for that new nas. Y’all probably can’t wait for that next soulja boy lames lol….

    32. This shit is smooth. Illmatic-level lyrics, refined and mature style, clean flow, a beautiful hook/chorus from the late miss Winehouse, and that smokey hiphop style jazz club beat. What more can I possibly ask for from Nas?

    33. I like Remi when he produces like this.

I think Mark Ronson was cock blocking Nas & Remi on the back to black album…

Remi did most of the first album “Frank” – which was more what Amy wanted – hiphop!

    34. Classic record! I didn’t know Amy Winehouse was a sister, just high yella. She was probably trying to come out like Mariah and they shelved her until she ‘died’. Truly sad when all this talent is gone and is unmatched by anyone else out here.
Nas a cool dude he gave me an interview and let me film his show at the roxy, enuff said.

    35. Nas is fearless with his music and whether experimenting with Damian Marley or Ms Winehouse(RIP) he makes that shit CLASSIC. PERIOD.

    36. Damn her vocal tone reminds me of Ms. Lauryn Hill on this song. Mr.Jones needed to get his flow a bit tighter. He was all over the place on this one. I really didn’t enjoy how he delivered this performance. He is capable of much better. God bless Amy though. 1

      1. You don’t have to like it, but save the critiques, because you don’t know what you’re talking about.
        Flow was perfectly symmetric

    37. This beat reminds me of that unreleased 2Pac track “Just Watchin” This is classic Nas doin his thing with the late Amy Winehouse. Classic beat, great lyrics, great singing. Epic track. Easy 5 stars. FUCK THE FLEX DROPS. I’m done.

    38. He should made this happen before she died, he had years to link up together…

Nice track – but no real chemistry – just a Nas verse over an old Amy record.

    39. Man this song is beautiful! This sounds like it was recorded around the same time as Distant Realitives. If you listen to his speed of delivery, vocal pitch, and subject matter more conscious topics ie Occupy Wall Street.
These type of songs are one of the reasons why True Nas Fans give credit to this dude, he keeps pushin’ the envelope of creativity while remaining true to himself flaws and all! I just had a cigar and a glass of wine with my girl and she don’t even listen to hip hop, but was like “who is this dude, I like this!” Thanks Amy and Nas for a beautiful song.
