But rap is becoming more musically challenging. I’m all for the real shit, Jeezy, T.I. etc…but there is another segment now, real musicians that can play instruments, not just drum machines and ProTools. Pushing rap forward doesn’t mean abandoning the drug dealing, murder, guns, and everything else that plagues communities…it means musically challenging yourself…switching your flow up, goin’ in on some beats that aren’t just snares and bass. But rap is becoming more musically challenging. I’m all for the real shit, Jeezy, T.I. etc…but there is another segment now, real musicians that can play instruments, not just drum machines and ProTools. Pushing rap forward doesn’t mean abandoning the drug dealing, murder, guns, and everything else that plagues communities…it means musically challenging yourself…switching your flow up, goin’ in on some beats that aren’t just snares and bass. If he ever puts out another #1 single without a featured artist, I’ll eat my words.
