A HHDX Review by Seven The Freelancer

With over ten years in the rap game behind him, one successful solo release, his own shoe line, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition video game project, and the Cash Money CEO tag stitched on his sweaters, Birdman has released Fast Money.

The seventeen-cut album features collaborations with Bun B, Lil Wayne, Six Shot, Big Tymers, 6 Shot and the lil bodied strong voice starlet Lil Mo. The various collaborations add some substance to an already heavy album.

A luminary of the Deep South Birdman doesn’t change the direction of the rap game. He boasts of his lavish lifestyle, his career and smoking. Get Your Shine On and Neck of the Woods which feature Lil Wayne are both already in high rotation in ATL, Miami, Detroit and their hometown New Orleans.

We Getting It On is sure to be a club banger this summer. The laid back delivery that resembles that of a late eighties Hip Hop song features Ta, Big Tymers and Birdman over a Mannie Fresh produced beat is classic Cash Money production and straight fire for the summer. Smoke Out, with the bongos playing in the background is a track worth listening to and will probably become theme music for those that like to roll a fat one.

The use of producers Deezle, Batman, in house master producer Mannie Fresh and Birdman himself keep the album from sounding mono acoustic. The producers provide a back drop of beats that don’t take Birdman out of his element.

Fast Money, remains within the Cash Money mold; good production, catchy hooks, songs for the cars and club classic. Even though it doesn’t feature stellar lyrics it’s worth a listen. If you are a fan of Cash Money you will like Fast Money. On the other hand, if you want to see why they have been around for almost fourteen years then you should definitely check out Fast Money.
