The Def Jux crew has returned as a taste of Cannibal OX reappears in the guise of Vast Aire who was the leader of the crew of outspoken heads…This return was expected…not in the least due to the release of 2002’s Cold Vein (which by the by was slept on by myself).
After the release of Look Mom…No Hands going the way somewhat of the Wu in style if not art with his Kung Fu inspired Way Of The Fist mixtapes…Aire has now teamed up for the April released Best Damn Rap Show with DJ Mighty Mi of Hi & Mighty…with cameos by Tame One on the #6 track Fighter Pilots, it’s obvious that this is a free for all.
Might manages to work production on every single track…taking his experience from his own niche’ at Eastern Conference Records, he’s become a sought after producer…from ’99 with Home Field Advantage to producing hit for some of the east’s old, new and contemporary players.
If you’re pushing for better production and a shitload of beats this is meeting the title as a straight product and beat fest with Vast somewhat taking the background to Mi. With the usual MC bravado Vast does get his lines in that are undeniably matched by Mi’s production…I’m feeling “What Goes Up” and the wild Friendly Fire…this is Hip Hop to the Nth and a good show…load into the MP3 and roll.
