There is no question that this cat can spit, the only question is how he does it. E-40‘s lyrics come out as if he had a frog in his throat, but yet he attacks each track as if his life depended on it. In reality, Loyalty and Betrayal is more than just an E-40 album but a collaboration of west coast heavy weights from Ice Cube to Too $hort. Each song has at least one guest taking all the lyrical pressure off of 40, which serves as a positive in the long run.

The first single Nah Nah feat. Nate Dogg has E-40 slinging rhymes over a nice Battlecat beat. The album consists of mainly party joints with guests bragging about how much ice they have and how many hoes they pimp. Check out Behind Gates feat. Ice Cube where he delivers an above average performance with a posse chanting what sounds like down throughout the whole track. Loyalty and Betrayal fits nicely into a collabo album, feat. Mystikal, 8 Ball, Cash Money’s Mack 10, The Click, and the previously mentioned.

If you’re a die hard E-40 fan your in for a treat, if not you have another coaster.
