Corey Miller, A.K.A. C-Murder’s, latest set ‘Tru Dawgs,’ plays more like a taping of “Where are they Now?” rather than a fresh new compilation, with guest features from the Doggy’s Angels, Mia X, and Silk The Shocker to name a few.
On tracks like “Dogged Her Out,” spitting in a flow reminiscent of his Doggystyle days, Snoop Dog lays smooth vocals over a simple head nodder from the keyboards of LT Hutton.
Doggy’s Angels appear courtesy of Doggystyle Records and to the dismay of anyone listening. Storm, one third of the groups trio manages to redeem some lyrical respect as she touts “No Fendi, no Prada… no nadda while you getting’ dressed ya shit still stuck.”
The infectious “Water Whipped” produced by newcomer Bass Heavy, and featuring Soulja Slim and the Cutt Throat Committee, is arguably the albums best cut, not because of any lyrical genius displayed on the track, but the raw energy and rah, rah brought on by its participants.

The track following the albums best song is followed by its undisputed worst song “Where The Party At,” a painful rip off of last summer’s Jagged Edge club banger.
Lack luster lyrics provided by siblings Master P and Silk the Shocker make you wonder if this song fumbled its way out of the “purposely lost” tape basket into the final mix.
