Young Thug once had an awkward encounter with Twitter founder Jack Dorsey who called the incarcerated YSL rapper his “inspiration.”

Rolling Loud co-founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif joined Million Dollaz Worth of Game earlier this week where Zingler recalled setting up the backstage meeting at a show between Thugger and Dorsey.

“He’s like, ‘Who’s the guy?’ It’s just [Thug] and his girl,” Zingler said. “I’m like, ‘The guy from Twitter.’ He’s like, ‘Oh bluebird, bring him in.’ I bring him in and Thug like doesn’t know him. I’m in between him and Thug I’m like, ‘Thug, this is Jack.’

“Jack’s like, ‘You’re my inspiration.’ I’m sitting there like, ‘How the fuck is Jack inspired by Thug?’ But genuinely Jack loves Thug on a weird level to influenced by music to everything he’s obsessed with Thug.”

Zingler went on to explain that the interaction was so awkward for everyone involved that he just dipped from Young Thug’s dressing room. “It was so awkward because Thug doesn’t take compliments that well so Thug is like super quiet and it was so awkward for me I dipped on Thug,” he explained.

Even while behind bars, Thugger has been somehow accessing Twitter, an app he’s been using to promote his music among other thoughts since January 2011.

As far as his legal case goes, Young Thug’s lawyers reportedly filed a motion on June 23 to have the RICO charges against him in the YSL case dismissed due to the statute of limitations, but it’s unclear if the judge will agree to it.

Thugger’s first album since being locked up, Business is Business, arrived last month with features from Future, 21 Savage, Juice WRLD, Nicki Minaj, Lil Uzi Vert, Drake, Travis Scott and more. The LP debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with about 88,000 album-equivalent units.

While Metro Boomin oversaw a majority of the project’s production and sequencing, 808Mafia’s Southside claimed the entire tracklist was put together in just two weeks. “Y’know, we move quick, we work real fast,” he told TMZ. “Shoutout to Metro. Metro the G.O.A.T.”

Not only did he call his longtime collaborator the greatest, he also called Business is Business the greatest behind-bars record of all time.

Southside was then asked if Thugga recorded his vocals over the phone. “Not really, some things was, but not all of em,” he said. When probed further to reveal more information about the operation, he replied: “We keep our secrets.”
