Young Thug‘s dad is celebrating his son’s release from prison, but he has taken issue with the conditions of his release, noting that he’s “totally against” certain provisions.

In a local news interview from Thursday (October 31), Jeffrey Williams Sr. reacted to some of the very strict conditions of Thugger’s plea deal.

He said: “I feel great that he’s going home, but at the same token, I still want him to fight, but that’s his decision. I raised him to be the man that he is. You know, I’ve always been in his life, from a pup to now. And I’m gonna continue to be in his life. As an adult, he has to make his own decisions.”

He was asked if he resided in Metro Atlanta, and when he responded in the affirmative, he was asked about one of the stipulations, which bars Thug from the city.

Williams Sr. added: “I’m totally against that, because this is where he’s from. To have a district attorney take that away from him … To see her take the man away from where he’s from, to have to go live somewhere else, that’s offensive to me. I’m really offended by that.”

Young Thug’s lengthy probation comes with various strict conditions including a ban from the Metro Atlanta area, no contact with any of his co-defendants apart from Gunna and his brother Quantavious “Unfoonk” Grier, and a requirement to perform annual charity anti-gang concerts.

Thug is also prevented from making gang references in his music but is allowed to travel for work purposes.

Young Thug‘s release from jail was celebrated by many of his rap peers including Kanye West and Drake.

The Atlanta rapper’s long-running YSL RICO trial came to an abrupt end on Thursday (October 31) when he accepted a plea deal, the terms of which saw him sentenced to time served plus 15 years of probation.
