Chris Brown collaborator Young Lo has reportedly been shot and killed outside a Miami nightclub.

According to CBS, the rapper (real name Lowell Grissom) was shot while winding down at Miami’s Gala club around 4 a.m. ET on Sunday (May 7). The 37-year-old was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he died.

Two other women were wounded by gunshots but are expected to survive their injuries and make a full recovery. A source relayed to CBS that they believe that Lo was targeted in the attack.

Lo has become a well-known figure and dot connector throughout the music industry where he collaborated with the likes of Chris Brown (“Everybody”) and currently served as an A&R for Hitmaka’s MakaSound label.

Plenty of artists flooded Lo’s most recent Instagram post made mere hours prior to his death with condolences and heartwarming messages from the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Davido, Hitmaka, Sean Kingston, 600Breezy, Karrueche, Tyla Yaweh, DJ Drama, Lady London and more.

Mally Mall wrote: “This isn’t right… you always loved protected and stood up for anyone and everyone … I’m beyond heartbroken this world is becoming overbearing.”

Lo was also reportedly a close friend of Ray J. The incident caps off what was a busy weekend in South Beach which hosted the F1 2023 Miami Grand Prix on Sunday.

Chris Breezy posted a tribute to his Instagram Story Monday after hearing the gut-wrenching news: “Love you bro. Rest up MY BROTHER.”

The Gala nightclub added: “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the isolated and targeted incident that occurred last night at our upscale establishment.”

Young Lo relocated from California to Miami and he leaves behind a six-year-old son. No arrests have been made in the case as of press time.

A GoFundMe has been launched in support of Lo to help cover his funeral expenses.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown recently expanded his business portfolio by launching NAMI, a 3-D printed footwear line.

The footwear’s exact release date is unknown, because the singer mentioned May without a date — however, they are likely to be released in the near future.
