Xzibit Talks New Album “Napalm,” First Time Meeting Dr. Dre And Snoop Dogg

Xzibit is making moves, as the West Coast veteran rapper is readying his next release, Napalm.

“I’ve been working on it for about half a year,” revealed X to the Z in an interview with Hip Hop Chronicle UK. “I have about seventy-five percent of it done. I’m really excited because I haven’t put a record out since ’07.”

“I think it’s time. My heart’s in it. I haven’t produced records like this in a long time. When it comes out, man, I think you guys are gonna be impressed.”

Xzibit revealed he did a video in Iraq, and was the first person to do a Hip Hop show in Baghdad. “It was good. I got to do something for the troops, and I also got to shoot a documentary and shoot my first visuals for Napalm.”

Napalm will be out at the “top of the year,” added Xzibit.

Xzibit also spoke about his first time meeting Dr. Dre. “I can’t remember the first time I met Dr. Dre. I remember the first time I worked with him, though. I probably met him in passing, but it wasn’t until I got a call from Dre himself to come down and record ‘Bitch Please’…That’s when I worked with him for the first time. And we smashed it.”

As for Snoop Dogg, Xzibit similarly recalled the first time he met Dre’s original partner-in-rhyme. “Hanging out with Snoop was when we went to go promote ‘Bitch Please.’ We started working in close detail.”

    1. Xzibit should have mainteained his relationship with Dre and Eminem instead of jumping into the Suge Knight boat after it had already been sinking for years, for whatever stupid reason. Still, I suppose it’s not too late to get a feature on Detox, if it ever comes out..

      1. this is all a matter of personal preference, but in my opinion tash (of tha alkaholiks) might be the most underrated of all time. i love X and AZ (who is criminally underrated) but tash is somebody u never EVER hear about these days which i a damn shame

    2. Xzibit is a bit like DMX when hes preforming live, he brings energy to the stage like no other. I hope he can bring back the old fire

    3. my entire life as a hip hop fan i’ve been waiting tfor the day X meets X.. by that i mean DMX and Xzibit that would have been a perfect East Meets West. but its cool though..

    4. X is a good artist but he tries to work with west coast producers, I feel like a lot of west coast producers make their sounds sound too much like the 90’s, and I also feel like when other non-west coast producers tries to do a west coast sound it sounds way better than the west coast producers. Therefore get non west coast producers to do west coast beats.

    5. X’s whole problem through his career was that once he got the spotlight on him they tried to change his style up

On his First 2 albums he was doing Darker, more Hardcore stuff and then with “Restless” they had him rapping over the same West Coast Funk Beats as Snoop and it didnt sound right….. X has too aggressive of a voice and style to sound right on that type of shit

He needs to go back to his “At The Speed Of Life” “40 Dayz/40 Nightz” style beats, aint like it makes a diffrence now anyways, nobody buys shit anymore anyway, Lil Wayne is on TV 24/7 and they play him on the radio round the clock and he’ll be lucky to see Double Platinum with his new one…..
