Wu-Tang Clan Announce First Video Game In 25 Years

Wu-Tang Clan have announced that they will be releasing their first video game in 25 years.

The legendary rap group previously released Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style in 1999, a game that went on to become a cult classic.

Now they’ve announced a cooperative action RPG called Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, which allows up to four players to join together to protect their home of Shaolin.

Over the course of the game, the player is required to find each member of the Wu-Tang Clan, all of whom have gone missing.

It has not been confirmed if any of the group will be playable characters.

The game is said to be a mix of Afro-surrealism and anime and is confirmed to have a soundtrack made up of Wu-Tang classics as well as new tracks produced by Just Blaze.

Rise of the Deceiver is also a tie in to RZA‘s horror film Angel of Dust which has been in development since 2019.

Ghostface Killah said in a statement: “Creating Angel of Dust has been an incredible journey. Bringing the story to life through film was just the beginning.

“Now, with the development of the video game, we are immersing fans even deeper into this supernatural thriller universe. It’s about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience. I can’t wait for fans to step into the darkness and discover what lies beneath.”

A release date has not yet been announced but the game will be launched on PC before being released on consoles.

The Wu are currently on their final ever tour, which kicked off just last week and will run for 27 dates across North America.

RZA shared a statement about the tour.

“Wu-Tang Clan has shown the world many chambers throughout our career; this tour is called ‘The Final Chamber,’” he began. “This is a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers to run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture. Most importantly to touch our fans and those who have supported us throughout the years.

“On this tour we’re playing songs we’ve never played before to our audience and me and our production team have designed a Wu-Tang show unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And to top it off we’ve got the amazing Run the Jewels on our side.”

    1. Ghostface is scheduled to release Supreme Clientele Part 2 on June 19. Great news about the video game as well.

      1. That’s what this studio made before mobile games. Not sure if Just Blaze is also still involved with this. Honestly fans just want a new Def Jam or a spiritual successor of that and more GTA clones like True Crime NYC now woke Saints Row. I swear because of all that blue pill nonsense we have a weaker set of people and they think rap is alphabet now look at Kendrick, Drake, Doechii, meanwhile real ones get locked up and put down like Kay Flock, YNW Melly, and NBA YoungBoy who they want to lock up again since that Utah system dont like Trump. Even Young Thug they mad he stood on morals FreeDiddy he didn’t commit any crime outside potentially domestic violence and Kid Cudi is trash as an artist and human being.

    2. Awesome! A bunch of white hipsters who buy “dude wipes” and “beard oil” can buy this game to go with their non political “wu-tang forever” sign they out each election, while not being able to name more than one Wu album lol. Jokes aside, WuTang has the most phony, hipster-ish fan base imaginable. I guess nostalgia lead to that perhaps? Idk. Game looks bad.

      1. Huh? Why would they be mad? Who’d want tha trashy, retarded azz ninja as a father figure? Shit, I’d rather have no father at all if that happy headed freak was my pops!

      2. White people are so dumb, they LOVE hip hop but are quick to put down the black people who make it.

      3. Thank you! Its so true as a New Yorker respect to them but the people who keep talking “real rap” are hipsters, old, and alot from the suburbs and upper class areas not all white and a ton of black and non white people too. They’ll tell you to respect the old stuff that’s fine but they themselves mostly dont respect the old stuff like Public Enemy, Rakim, Run DMC, etc especially against garbage Eminem or Tupac. Like X said Tupac wouldn’t fit in today’s era and honestly would be mocked since most know his past now and look at rappers like Nas a legend but most are not listening to him I mean all these people are talk about “real rap” but only listen to Kendrick and Eminem or attack young guys Lil Pump, Playboy Carti, whoever else even attacking Wayne and Ye now too. These people just want agenda not rap they attack the real core too the lower income people or even vibes they feel everything needs to be lyrical and political left wing. Its why Hip Hop is changing and hopefully major labels drop it.

      4. Who cares who look likes what, hipster white, beard oil. I’m sure wu tang doesn’t care what they look like or if they have extensive hip hop knowledge or not. You guys should down talk the people that are “hating” or talking down on these legends. Instead you knock fans that look certain ways and don’t know anything about rap. You turned into the “hater” when you should just not care as long as they’re not trying to put down the culture intentionally.

    3. Bring back Def Jam or make a spiritual successor to that not this woke trash. Can we get GTA clones again too? Have you seen this game its made by woke people and you play as a black girl. These people claim “tha culture” but dont know anything about the streets.
