Wordsworth Speak On New Supergroup Project

You’ve read and heard the news. Masta Ace, Wordsworth, Stricklin and Punchline have combined forces to create the EMC. As the release date nears, Wordsworth took some time off recording his next solo album, to hit HipHopDX.com off with some tidbits on the new EMC album, his future solo project and more.

“It’s your four favorite rappers on one album…We’re in the mixing stage,” he said of the highly anticipated EMC album, The Show.

When asked to elaborate on the album’s direction, he said it was a “very conceptual” album, but gave us few secrets.

“Really can’t say what songs are on there because we haven’t done the final cuts,” he added to keep us guessing.

We did manage to get some inside scoop on the album. He noted “What It Stands For,” which was produced by Nicolay, as one of the outstanding tracks on the LP.

“And then we got a joint with Sean Price…real crazy.”

Sometimes, working with various MC’s can become competitive. However, when asked if there were many arguments, Words showed us a different scenario.

“Never…because we get along outside of the booth,” he said.

Words also noted that the crew has hit the road.

“We been touring overseas heavy and working on a states tour,” he told us.

With the trips, we asked how the US Hip-Hop scene compares to the Hip-Hop scene overseas.

    “Here
its more of a dollar issue over there more of a music interest…The
game is still young and a lot of artists are becoming more business
savvy so i believe it will get better. Some of us will be able to say
    what should be heard,”
    he added.

    Aside from the EMC project,
Words has also been steadily working on his own solo LP, which is still untitled.

“[It’s] real nice. It’s another level of music that I been making,” he noted.

While you may have to wait for the solo joint, expect the EMC album to hit stores in July.
