Wiz Khalifa Talks Turning Drake Tour Down

Having entered the public consciousness relatively recently, many were surprised when Wiz Khalifa turned down a tour with Drake, one of Rap’s most popular acts.

The Pittsburgh emcee stands by his choice, however, as he feels that his intuition served him well. “I went out on a limb and went with my gut feeling,” said Wiz in an interview with MTV News.

“It was risky when you go for what you know, but it’s really easy to take the hand from someone,” added the DXNext alum. “Not saying I didn’t want it or couldn’t use it, but I figured I’d try a different method, and it ended up working for me.”

This past weekend, the young rapper performed at New York’s Best Buy Theater, accompanied by Curren$y and Big K.R.I.T.

    2. man i love you wiz for sayin no to faggot drake you aint need no fuckin disney channel actor on tour with you man fuck drake. wiz got it.

      1. yess i found someone that doesnt like drake..lol
rooney@ agree with you %100 drake is wack when he raps omg that is a sad site..haaha

    3. Too bad Wiz is going pop. Maybe he should have went on tour with Drake since they are both pretty much pop acts now. Ever since Wiz signed with Atlantic, his pop angle has been very obvious. I’m just glad I saw him live before he went radio on us. Just saw K.R.I.T. and Curren$y in the ATL too. Would’ve been nice to see all 3 of them together.

    4. Wiz would have been good whether he toured with Drake or not. He will prosper regardless, not too many independent artists have a following like him. He will cater to Atlantic with radio tracks but will also please his core fanbase who been riding the Taylor Gang wave!!! Don’t be mad jbatcha21, the major label situation will make him more visible to the world!!!

    5. Not a big fan of Wiz, but I gotta give him some props for turning down Drake and sticking to his guns and not caving into the almighty $$$$.

    6. Bad move. The purpose is to push your movement. This by no means is him ‘selling out’. especially when u consider that these music companies will dick u at the first opportunity they get
