Will Smith appears to have taken aim at old foe Chris Rock in a new freestyle.
Appearing on Apple Music’s Fire in the Booth series, the iconic rapper and actor looked to save some choice bars for the comedian who he famously slapped on stage at the 2022 Oscars.
While he doesn’t drop Rock’s name, Smith clearly references the incident, spitting: “If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage.”
He adds: “Jokers dish it out, cry foul when its time to take it / City full of real ones, wasn’t raised to fake it.”
Rock is yet to respond to the lines.
Smith also addressed the Oscars slap on his comeback album Based on a True Story which was released earlier this year to financial failure having been unable to even chart on the Billboard 200.
The opening track features DJ Jazzy Jeff and B. Simone and is made out to be a barbershop type of convo, where lines like, “I heard he won the Oscar but he had to give it back – and you know they only made him do that shit because he’s Black” and, “He’s only still relevant because of his kids,” are sprinkled in.
And on the song “You Lookin’ For Me?” he brings up Jada when he raps: “Personal life with my wife – mind your business, it’s complicated.”
During a live interview with Sway in the Morning held in his hometown of Philadelphia, Will Smith revealed that he phoned two people — JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar — for advice before recording the new album.
According to Smith, his conversation with the Roc Nation mogul was so impactful that it inspired the name of the album.
“I was like, ‘Hey, I want to get back in music.’ Jay said like, ‘Don’t fake your story.’ He was like, ‘You gotta say what’s true for you,’” he recalled.
“And he says, ‘You’ll be looking at the younger rappers and you want that to be true for you, but you don’t live like that.’ It was like, ‘Be true to your story. Tell your story.’ And that’s where I got the Based on a True Story, from Jay.”
The realest MC ever!
He makes my pussy sploosh
Cringe. Just like his corny ass rap career always was.
Btw a real OG dropped a great album recently: Slick Rick
Nah, Will Smith sucks, but DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince was a respectable act. He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper should be up there with It Takes a Nation of Millions and Straight Outta Compton, and Summertime will never not slap.
Brand new funk is crazy too, idgaf what nobody says
🫏🕳️
If Chris Rock responds…😂😂😂
What an absolute clown . And that Pretty Girls video is legit one of the cringiest music videos that I’ve ever seen
Lmao that you actually watched it. Bussy boy
Only an absolute f ggot would use the term Bussy boy. Fuck outta here, fruitcake
Will Smith new album is the biggest flop ever
It’s all good. He’s more upset at Chris Rock than his wife having sex with her son’s friend.
maybe you “werent raised to fake it”, but Prof Griff told us years ago that Will was raised to take it. as for this “rap music” site with articles about diddy talking bout vogue editors and inconsequential Will freestyling while you let albums by Aesop rock, Danny Brown and Premrock release GREAT lps, without mention because you cover TRASH rap and this delusion that this is rap that you discuss
I’d probably have heart palpitations if they actually reviewed Aesop Rock. Which is phenomenal btw.
since Impossible Kid he’s been on an amazing run, realizing Labor Days is over 25 years old. GOAT level for those who appreciate what he does. Rarified air
Soooo….HE is DISSING the man HE slapped on national TV? LMAO!!!! Boy go sit yo’ $5 butt down before somebody makes change. You ARE NOT a tough guy or a bad boy, you are an insecure jerk who is afraid of his wife- or whatever she is to you.

He got wealth trauma??? Lmao. Goof.
He was on TV crying and apologising after his wife admitted screwing her son’s friend. Don’t suddenly pretend that hitting a comedian half your size for telling a joke that you initially laughed at makes you a gangster. Will Smith is a joke forever.
West Philadelphia, born and raised.
Will’s best bet after the slap would’ve been to immediately apologize and take an extended break from Hollywood to get his life in order. Instead he chose to release an incredibly cringe rap album and double down on his cuckness
Sad Will Smith built his career on jokes and comedy just to end it hurt from a joke from a comedian
