will.i.am has recalled the times his sexuality was brought into question due to his “feminine” mannerisms that he picked up from his mother.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman joined British entrepreneur Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO podcast last week, where he reflected on a difficult period when he was growing up and the lack of a father figure in his life.
“Coming of age, I didn’t have a man in my life — a father in my life to guide me through that,” he began. “My mom did that, which probably made me ultra feminine. I have no shame in being super feminine.
“I remember in the ’90s, we don’t have the support in the LGBT community now that we did then. So growing up in the ’90s, we were like, ‘Are you gay?’ A lot of people questioned [me] because I was feminine. I’m still feminine. I sit the way I sit, I act the way I act, my mannerisms are my mom’s.”
will.i.am then explained he looks at his femininity as his “superpower” and went on to clarify that he’s only attracted to women, not men.
“I’m strong with my femininity I think it’s a superpower,” he continued. “When you know who you are and you love who you are and how you vibe, that’s what it’s about. I like girls. Never was attracted to men. I’m attracted to females, but I’m feminine.”
The 48-year-old has never been married or had children, but was previously linked to Big Brother star Casey Batchelor back in 2014.
“I don’t have time for girlfriends, and that’s why I just keep busy,” he told The Mirror in 2015. “I keep going because that’s what I want to do.”
Meanwhile, will.i.am also recently recalled the time 2Pac stole Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.Ap’s girlfriend right in front of him at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles back in the ’90s.
“I never met Biggie,” he said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid last month. “I never had an interaction with 2Pac, but Apl.de.Ap in the Black Eyed Peas, he had this girlfriend. I don’t wanna name her name or put her on blast, and they were eating at freaking Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles.
“She was hot, bro. She was a beautiful Puerto Rican young girl, when we were kids. 2Pac did like this [beckoning gesture] and then she was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ll be right back.’ 30 minutes later, [Apl’s] chicken waffles got all cold, freaking syrup got all freaking stiff, butter got freaking liquidy.”
He continued: “And he was like, ‘She ain’t coming back…’ That’s his classic 2Pac [story].”
people dont wanna admit it but if you are raised around a bunch of women its almost guaranteed to get a few mannerisms.
That’s what’s up ! I tell people all the time that getting in touch with your feminine side is normal… especially while wearing a bra and panties. People laugh at me but deep down they know I’m right
You alright man?
No he’s “beyond gay” and there’s no coming back from that.
No you’re not right just say you’re gay it’s OK no one cares.
Super feminine and he doesn’t have time for girlfriends. Hmm.
Funny it’s an article about gay and y’all brought up 2pac🤭
Give me a break! LMAO You know that those feminine traits have nothing to do with your mother. I would say a good 80 percent of my male friends and men I know, were raised by single moms, It did not turn out feminized. It his is so sad that you hide behind that. You’re feminized because you are. Not because if your mother. Let’s call it what it is, instead of making it seem what it’s not.
Yes this was a necessary story after that ne yo nonsense. Remind us all that celebs are compliant and we should be too right?
