50 Cent has collaborated with ABC in the past through legal drama For Life, which was canceled by the network after two seasons but close to being picked up by IMDb TV for a third season.
Despite working on countless shows in recent years,Unrapped will mark 50 Cent’s first dive into reality television since 2013’s Dream School, a SundanceTV series that followed high school dropouts being taught by celebrities.
Unrapped is set to rival Netflix’s Hip Hop competition series, Rhythm + Flow, which includes an all-star judge panel of its own in Cardi B, T.I. and Chance The Rapper. The first season’s episodes were released throughout October 2019, with D Smoke ending up being crowned the winner of the show. A second season is expected to be released at some point in 2021.
