Westside Gunn teamed up with RZA on the opening track of his new mixtape 10, and he’s revealed what it was like landing the “dream” collaboration.
In a new interview with Fader, Westside Gunn spoke on locking in with the legendary producer for the album intro that also features AA Rashid. According to the Buffalo, New York native, he’s been hoping to get something in with RZA for a long time and is grateful he was finally able to get it done.

“It’s been a dream of mine since day one to be on the RZA beat,” Gunn said. “And to have that sound — this is what I’m begging him for, like ‘Bro, I need this.’ I got it [and] I’m thankful. It’s not the end of me and RZA. We have more.”
The 40-year-old also worked with another legend in Swizz Beatz on “Science Class” featuring Busta Rhymes, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Stove God Cooks off 10. Gunn reflected on his friendship with Swizz and how the producer has shared many conversations with him.
“Swizz is fam,” Gunn said. “That’s my guy. He’s kicked a lot of knowledge to me. Me and him done talked and hung out for hours. People like Swizz, I always wanna impress, because he a OG. He’s big into art like I’m big into art. We connect on a whole other level.”
10 is the 10th and final installment in Westside Gunn’s beloved Hitler Wears Hermes mixtape series and was released on October 28. The album boasts features from Doe Boy, DJ Drama, A$AP Rocky, Black Star, Run The Jewels, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Armani Caesar and more.
The 40-year-old has another album on the way titled MICHELLE RECORDS which he also mentioned in his interview with Fader. The album reportedly has a “totally different vibe” from 10, and that it’s “pretty much halfway done.”
Westside Gunn first teased the project — named after his late aunt, who passed away in November 2021 — back in February with a pair of trailers featuring cameos from Fabolous, Dave East, Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher and Armani Caesar.
Fans didn’t know what MICHELLE RECORDS would be as Gunn stayed tight-lipped on the project. A Griselda Records Twitter fan page tweeted a post in September that MICHELLE RECORDS would be a full-length album with the alleged cover art featuring someone wearing a hockey goalie mask reminiscent of Jason Voorhees from the Friday The 13th movie franchise.

Meanwhile, Westside Gunn’s love of professional wrestling is no secret, and the Griselda rapper recently announced he’ll be starting his own pro wrestling franchise.
The rapper revealed in August that he will be starting a new wrestling promotion called 4THROPE, and announced the former WWE NXT star Parker Boudreaux would also be joining the roster.
