WATCH: T.I. Questions Cop On His Arrest In New Jail Video

Since the arrest of T.I. early in the morning on May 16, TMZ has obtained a video of the rapper in a heated conversation with a police officer over his detainment.

T.I. is seen speaking with a police officer while he is being processed at Henry County Jail. He somewhat calmly asks for a decent reason as to why he was arrested. The officer replies that T.I. was “acting like a fool” and that he shouldn’t have approached the security guard the second time once he was already let in.

T.I. then defends himself by saying he has every right to approach the guard since he’s a tax-paying citizen.

TMZ also reports more details after speaking with T.I. directly. First, the security guard was reportedly asleep when T.I. first tried to get in. The police report also read that T.I. shouted, “Hook me up,” at the guard but T.I. says he said, “Look me up.”

After the guard couldn’t find T.I. in the directory, T.I.’s wife Tiny called the security guard to give him permission to come in. The guard then reportedly shouted at Tiny, “Who the fuck do you think you is talking to me like this?” T.I. then became visibly upset and told the guard, “I pay you.” He tried to get the guard’s name but the guard reportedly refused.

After finally getting home, T.I. returned to the guard to get his name. After another rejection at his attempt, T.I. told the guard, “You can step outside the booth into the street, so we can talk.” The guard then felt threatened and called the police, who arrested T.I.

T.I. claims the security guards and police haven’t checked surveillance footage to see what actually occurred.

WSB-TV Atlanta 2 has interviewed other residents of the community who say that a few security guards, including the one involved in T.I.’s arrest, “don’t use common sense.”

T.I.’s lawyer also released the following statement to WSB-TV Atlanta 2:

“Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community – where his wife “Tiny” and his family reside. The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. The guard refused entry. Tip was in contact with “Tiny” by phone and “Tiny” confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip’s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip.”

T.I. and a friend were arrested outside of T.I.’s gated community in Georgia for simple assault, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

T.I. was released on bond shortly after.

        1. Dindu has nothing to do with racism. It’s a simple reflection of when black folk obviously are doing something stupid that anyone would be arrested for, then act like they didn’t do anything… Dumbass

          1. Doing something stupid like trying to get into his fucking multi million dollar house to go home to his wife and kids? But the guard he’s paying HOA fees to hire is sleeping and he wants his name? Yeah….real stupid. He should’ve just stayed outside his gated community and sat there all day. You mf must be fucking mentally retarded.

    1. Free TIP. Security guard needs to chill out a bit. This seems completely unnecessary. People are weak nowadays. “Step outside the booth so we can talk” is not a menacing threat to call the cops. Actually, let TI hit you and then it’s “check” time. Sue him and the establishment. Missed out on a real opportunity there. Lol.

    2. Wow, TIP paying the security guard salary and can’t get into his own gated community!!! Cop sounds racist too!

    3. Tip sounded drunk as hell trying to sound all intellectual and ask stupid questions. These cops are used to drunk dumbasses. The fact that y’all blacks just accept his side of the story with no problems proves y’all are delusional. Blacks have proved time and time again that they need us to keep them in line. Just look at liberia. Freed slaves left to africa to be “free” only to have slaves themselves and a population of cannibals. Degenerates

      1. But you seem pretty comfortable participating in black culture from a distance… then wanna comment ignorantly with racial shyt. So if that’s how you really feel then do yourself a favor, stay off hip-hop sites, stop fuggin wit out music and fugg wit your own lame ass culture

    4. It hurts my soul to see some of my favorite mc’s get more retarded with age, it’s disheartening to see an artist on the same age level as you come up on the better path and end up dumber with age. TIP been famous since he was a youngin’…yea he dealt with the hard life for a hand full of years, but he blew up at a young age and has lived about half of his life as a wealthy celebrity. How can you be a clown like this? This is the same oppressed black man who skated on felony gun charges despite his priors?

    5. T.I. is clearly acting a drunken fool I. This video talking to the cop. What a dumbass. You would figure this stupid convicted felon would know better.

    6. ALL OF YOU IN THIS COMMENT SECTION ARE DUMB. Tip was trying to get to his house in a gated subdivision that has guards there to protect its residents. Tip is a damn RESIDENT!!! That’s like someone coming up to you while you’re in front of the door of your house and telling you that you can’t go in! To your own house!?!? Stupid!!! What TF are yall on?? Wheres yall common sense?! I’d be pissed and would have reacted the same way if I’m pulling up to my house and being deliberately stopped by security, who by the way see me every damn day coming in and out, and being told I can’t get to my own damn house… and then have police called on me??? He’s also right about contributing to the security personnel pay and it is usually stated in the deed and paid through the home owners association. All you immature ass kids on here who never had a house in their name wouldn’t know that either.
