Marijuana enthusiasts and west coast Hip Hop fans are often synonymous. From Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic to B-Legit‘s The Hemp Museum to J. Wells‘ Digital Smoke, rappers rhyme about smoking, and many smokers clearly love that G-Funk.
Warren G, a 15-plus year veteran producer, deejay and rapper, celebrates the unofficial smoker’s holiday (4/20) by releasing “Let’s Get High (420 Anthem)” with help from Travis Barker and Black Nicc. The song can be heard on HipHopDX [click to listen].
“I wanted to do something very special this year to support the 420 movement,” said Warren G. “Marijuana has been proven to be an effective medicinal treatment for cancer and many other medical problems.” The song will appear on the 213 member’s August release Tha G Files, coming on west coast independent label TBD Records.
