Waka Flocka Flame has told Mos Def he looks like a “hater” for wearing a dress after his well publicized statements about Drake‘s merits as a Hip Hop artist.
Yesterday (February 3), Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey posted a picture on Instagram of him wearing a designer skirt or kilt with Waka Flocka Flame now inserting himself into his alleged beef with Drake.
“That Mos Def shit, boy you tripping,” he said. “You really tripping, my boy. You go from goddamn telling Drake he not Hip Hop to putting on a goddamn Rowdy Roddy Piper dress like the wrestler. So that’s what Hip Hop is?
“Bruh, never in my life I do lame shit like that. But I got to say something, bruh. Now you make that look like Hip Hop and you look like a hater.”
Mos had originally criticized Drake as “pop”.
“Drake is pop to me,” he said.“In the sense like, if I was in Target in Houston and I heard a Drake song, it feels like a lot of his music is compatible with shopping. Or shopping with an edge, in certain instances.”
The rapper and actor later clarified his comments on Instagram Live.
“Drake, if you’d like to speak to me directly, you can at any point,” Yasiin said. “I reached out to [Dave] Chappelle, actually reached out to you. I DM’d you. You are a very talented MC, but for me, I require more of myself and others than just talent or charm or charisma — particularly in times of urgent crisis.”
He concluded: “And what I would like to see in terms of creators or creative people in the world, as it relates to our culture, is for people to connect with us beyond the jukebox or the dance floor. A fair-weather friend can hardly be called a friend at all. The people who party with you — that’s cool. But will they show up for you when you’re at the triage?”
In response to the rap legend’s comments, Drake posted a video on Instagram of Method Man explaining what Hip Hop meant to him.
In the clip, the Wu-Tang member said: “Hip Hop is a culture. It’s a way of life, the way you dress, the way you talk, the way you walk. It’s the breakdancing, rhymes, stage show, DJ, mixing and scratching, the wordplay. That’s Hip Hop.”
Drake fans are so weak. Seriously, people are still crying about this? Drake does algorithm rap, it’s common knowledge and beyond dispute. It’s made him commercially and financially successful. It’s not the end of the world. Good for Drake but when talking about actual lyricism, he’s not in the conversation.
Wakkas a one hit wonder inserting himself in some “beef” that doesn’t even involve him. He desperately wants to protect his boyfriend from Mos def.
Okey but don’t cry
Waka Flocka Flame 🔥🔥🔥
People in the comments acting like they never wore a dress before.. or never tried on their sister’s panties when she leaves for work. Get Real, we’ve all done it ! Been there, done that

He had to wear it as part of the apology to the industry plant. Bey said eff it, I’ll take the hit if I’m going to be honest
Gay ass wakka flockka flame can’t stay out of business that doesn’t concern him
You wrote a whole article about this? Goofy af
You’re the fucking moron that’s coming to a hip hop gossip blog. I do not know what you motherfuckers expect. Fucking morons. I bet you go to McDonald’s and complain about the decor.
The fact that you can’t post a comment without using derogatory language shows everyone who the real MORON is.
He needed to accessorize with better boots.
Mos absolutely had a valid point about Drake & Waka absolutely has a valid point about Mos.
He’s Muslim and it’s called a Thobe. Folks too ignorant for research tho.
There was a time when this was handled with two Mics and a DJ. This is just exploitation of press. Why dont they just STFU and deal with this petty shit with lyrical content…?
Drugs & broke make people do anything he use to have since what the hell happened this is ridiculous ugh look sweet as a now & later😂🤣
Fam one thing Mis Def isn’t is broke. The outfit personally, I wouldn’t rock but the lyrics he puts together are nothing short of street. I’d put my bred on his talent vs Drake anyway and I like Drakes music but lyrically Mos Def is that one.
First, I belive the best way to describe hip hop style in a nutshell is avant garde. WE in this complex & original community make the trends while epitomizing & defining “cool” for the rest of the world. Hip hop culture has ALWAYS had (and taken full advantage of) the rare opportunity of FULL self expression. Hip hop is a GLOBAL phenomenon & our weight is real in the field. Incorporating our urban swag into whatever we wear with all of the fusion & multiplicity (graffiti/ clothes/lyricism/attitude/ language/ dance/ music/style) that comes with this worldwide reach is EXACTLY what is supposed to happen! If we mix country/ jazz/ r&b/ soul/ blues/ bluegrass into hip hop it’s still hip hop not @ all diluted but reinvented. How we “rock” a piece in our fashion expression is often like nothing anyone else can do. worn Yasiin is a full grown adult who has NO use (or time) for petty industry beef (Wakka/ Fat Joe have several seats immediately) Formulaic music has served Drake well & he’s putting out material that serves the “gate keepers” of the industy (who decide what gets played repetitively & what doesn’t) well. His success is utterly deserved. No shade. But for every fur feather sequin Cee Lo Green outfit, leopard print anything Pharell has ever worn, or straw boater hat Andre 300 has in his collection, or “grunge skate bum” (complete w/ skate board) looks ” lil Wayne has ever worn I’d assert it’s all STILL hip hop. We wouldn’t have underground hip hop if someone & something didn’t fall off the mainstream radar. Hip hop is not a monolith.
