Vick Chewed Up by Dog Lovers

It was only a matter of time before some money minded
individuals attempted to make a profit from the Michael Vick dog
    fighting investigation.

A Jacksonville, Fla. based company called The Animal
    Abuse Awareness Group
is selling a chew toy named after and resembling the
    Atlanta Falcons star quarterback.

Cited as a way to “give every dog a little payback”,
the Vick Dog Chew Toy will be sold through the website
    vickdogchewtoy.com for $10.99.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

In a press release on the site, the owners say they are
selling the toy as a means to spread awareness about the horrors of dog
    fighting.

“While most of us have turned a blind eye to this underground world of dog fighting,
Michael Vick has helped to blow the doors wide open on this problem. There are
now more people responding to the horrible situation that many of these animals
    have been subjected to.”

The press release stops short of saying Vick is guilty, but
it seems clear that like many, their minds are already made up.

“As the Michael Vick dog fighting scandal continues to
unfold we find ourselves trying to figure out why a multi-million dollar NFL
superstar would put himself in this type of position. That question can not be
answered as of yet and may or may not ever be answered. After authorities
raided a house owned by Vick on April 25 and found 66 dogs and a pit usually
used in dog fights, Vick has finally been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury and
    will face trial soon.”

In other Vick related news, NASCAR racer Greg
    Biffle
doesn’t believe Vick should get a fair trial and wishes “they’d”
    put Vick in jail.

“Just put him in prison and tell the general public,
just give them all the details of what they do with those dogs,”

Biffle said in an interview with ESPN. “How they steal people’s dogs
out of their front yards and use them for bait dogs and let other dogs kill
them. There’s all the horrifying stories. You look at all the pictures on the
Internet of the dogs, just maimed, mangled. It’s horrible.”
