Usher’s new hairstyle has got the internet talking, and Joyner Lucas joined in on the conversation by roasting the R&B legend’s latest cut.

Usher revealed the new bright orange haircut in a video posted to his Instagram Stories on Monday (January 16) while announcing his arrival in Paris. After the video was reshared by The Shade Room, Joyner wasted no time in clowning the hitmaker’s fluorescent fade.

“My n-gga lookin like a flaming hot Cheeto #legend,” Joyner wrote with a laughing face emoji. The ADHD rapper wasn’t the only one with jokes as one fan quipped that Usher had “been in Vegas too long,” referencing the singer’s Sin City residency.

Another Instagram user speculated that the 44-year-old was “going through a midlife crisis.”

In the video, Usher also rehashed his viral “watch this” catchphrase, which became one of the most popular memes of 2022 after the Confessions hitmaker dropped the phrase during his NPR Tiny Desk concert.

“I was blown away, I was shocked,” Usher told Twitter Music of the meme last year. “I think I was in Los Angeles somewhere and they were like, ‘Yo, you know you going viral?’ I’m like, ‘It’s good, right?’

“Then I looked on and I saw a few people do it. Then I saw more people doing what I had done and it just kept going and kept going and I was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing. This is something special.’”

When asked where the inspiration came from to strike the iconic pose during his rendition of “Superstar,” Usher said it just came to him at the moment.

“I don’t know where the inspiration sometimes comes from,” he said. “It could have been anything. It could have been Prince. Somebody had speculated that Prince had done something like this before.

“I don’t know, but I do know that I felt like that was the right thing to do in that moment that would just kinda like give people a good time. It just happened, I didn’t plan it. It just happened.”

Aside from clowning Usher’s new hair, Joyner Lucas recently linked up with Juelz Santana for the latter’s forthcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama. Juelz teased the track on social media earlier this month while drumming up anticipation for the project.

“Santana and Joyner Lucas, I’m not even going to say no other names. OMG. We In Motion on the fucking way,” Santana said in an Instagram video while tagging Lucas in his caption and hyping the new tape some more.

As for Joyner, the last full-length fans got from him was 2020’s Evolution, which featured appearances from Rick Ross, The Game, Ashanti and more.
