Usher’s Ex-Wife Launches Petition To Drain Georgia Lake Following Son’s Tragic Death

Usher‘s ex-wife, Tameka Foster, has set out to prevent further loss of life by launching a petition to drain the same lake in which her son died.

On Thursday (July 6), Foster announced her efforts to push for Georgia’s Lake Lanier to be emptied, following a tragic jet ski accident that took the life of her son, Kile Glover, 11 years ago.

Foster took to Instagram to honor her son as well as to shed light on the petition, writing: “On this significant day, July 6, we remember the tragic accident on Lake Lanier that forever altered my life. My courageous son, Kile Glover, fought for two weeks with unwavering strength until his passing on July 21. Today, we honor his memory by rallying together for change.”

She continued, “Let’s ensure a safer future by demanding improved safety measures, better zoning, and the removal of haunted debris from the lake. Join me in signing the petition and sharing this vital cause. Together, we can create a fresh start and bring about lasting transformation. #JusticeForKile #SignForSafety #IWILLFIGHTTILTHEENDOFMYDAYS.”

Within the first half of 2022, there were 14 boating-related fatalities, 67 injuries, and 114 incidents on the lake, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. It is also estimated that 700 deaths have occurred there since 1956.

Prior to being a Georgia landmark, Lake Lanier was home to the town of Oscarville — a thriving Black community full of carpenters, blacksmiths, and bricklayers, with farming as their top money-maker.

That is, until 1912, when a white woman by the name of Mae Crow, 19, was found dead in a wooded area near Oscarville, presumably after being raped.

As nightfall drew near, mobs called night riders attacked the town of Oscarville — burning it to the ground and driving the Black community out. Many residents of the historic town died trying to flee the destruction.

Following the aftermath, in the late 1950s, the Buford Dam was built, and Lake Lanier was formed, erasing the town’s history.

Meanwhile, Usher has been caught up in some controversy for serenading the women of Hip Hop and R&B with “There Goes My Baby,” while performing as part at his Vegas residency.

In a clip that surfaced online on Saturday (July 8), the R&B powerhouse can be seen sweetly serenading Saweetie.

But unlike the women who were previously serenaded by the “U Got It Bad” singer, Saweetie kept her hands — and her body — mostly to herself, keeping a cool face as she bopped along to the song, and leading to speculation that “YG definitely gave her the talk.”

Days prior, Nope star KeKe Palmer made headlines when a steamy clip showed the actor/singer — wearing a see-through black lace dress and undergarment — hugging and dancing next to Usher, who had ventured into the audience to woo her during a show.

After the footage went viral on social media, Palmer’s baby father, Darius Jackson, took to Twitter to share his disappointment with his girlfriend’s wardrobe choice. “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” he tweeted at the time.

Jackson then removed all of the photos of himself and Palmer together from his Instagram page, though photos of Jackson with the child he shares with Palmer remain.

Subsequently, it was revealed the duo unfollowed one another, suggesting that a breakup was either imminent or had already taken place.

      1. If you read properly, it says drain, clean, restore and improve the safety of Lake Lanier! That means all 700+ victims since 1956 should be considered in making this decision. So improving the life of EVERYONE involved, yea, she probably is a democrat! Either way at least she a decent human!

      2. You obviously can’t read or comprehend well. It says drain, restore, and improve. Not shut down or close permanently. 700 lives is a lot. STFU

      3. Yes she may be Democrat and crazy but at least she cares and more than for her son for all the other lives that have been taken. And if you read instead of jumping to conclusions, the lake is to be restored after deadly debris is removed d there is nothing Real about change your name.

      4. You sound like an idiot who must be an idiot. Her son was 11 and involved in an incident with not fault of his own. Like the others said.

      5. Reading is fundamental. Also, her son’s death along with 700 others were accidents. If we can help bring change and save lives I say let’s fix the Lake Lanier issue. Kudos to Tamekia for moving past her hurt and pain to bring about change. I will be sigining.

      6. As a mom who has also lost a child that is a life changing pain that can’t compare to any other kinda loss. It’s a shame that there’s people like you who want to continue turning everything bad that happens into a racial or governmental side issue. I would be happy to sign her petition, anything to help stop another mom from having to go through this kind of pain. Lots of love going out to their family and the rest of the 700 people’s families.

    1. Ex wife still fighting for justice to her son… meanwhile Usher serenades to RnB Singers while thirsting over their bodies

      1. He ain’t doing nothing new, he’s a performer, he’s at work! The bull shit I fight against doesn’t stop my bills from needing to be paid I’m sure the bull shit they fighting don’t stop their bills either.. Y’all just mad cause he’s good at his job! All that extra n publicity= a check!

      2. You sound like a f-ing jealous ssa b!+ch you mad because he still has a career and who are you again forgot what you sang or rapped about…

    2. Lake Lanier is a death trap. Definitely signing the petition the clean it up. Way to many lives have been taking away. It’s time to CHANGE the narrative

    3. That lake is one of many build on top of what was once a thriving black community until white ppl ran them out or killed them. That lake will NEVER be safe with that kind of history…

    4. I thought he was hit by a jet ski while on an innertube.
How is draining and restoring the lake going to prevent such accidents.
Better regulation of where motorized water vehicles are allowed to operate.

    5. I thought he was hit by a jet ski while on an innertube.
How is draining and restoring the lake going to prevent such accidents.
Better regulation of where motorized water vehicles are allowed to operate would be a good idea.

    6. Like she said, a lot of lives have been lost, there’s a lot of debris in the Lake and it’s been built. Over a town, so I’m sure a lot of debris is washing up, grow up. You idiots and get it fixed up, it’s not A. Democrat or Republican use your head common sense.

    7. I think it should be banned it sounds like its haunted to me too many deaths and i wonder why you think them ppl that they killed and oscarville aint angry so many kids died during that time shit majority of the town died.. Something to read about black ppl learn your history!!

      1. Their saying there’s debris in the lake from it being built on over the pre-existing town. Can you imagine water skiing on a lake and falling into the water and hitting your head on something that’s in the lake previously? If there’s objects in the water then they need to be cleared and the only way to do that is to drain the lake.

    8. This lake is hiding a horrific history. People were murdered and buried underneath this same lake. How can this place ever be a fun and festive place when there are restless souls below. There was a whole community that was destroyed due to racism. How is that fair or just? Drain the lake !!!! You may find that there will be less tragedy and more peace.
