Compton, California veteran, DJ Quik has set an official release date for his next LP. “Under Tha Influence” is going to drop on May 14th, look for appearances by Dr Dre, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Shyhiem, AMG and Suga Free. As previously reported at HHDX, Quik will also release a supplementary DVD that will contain studio footage and such. No street date has been set for the DVD yet.
From veterans to rookies, Crooked I has also set an April 30th release date for his album, “Untouchable.” While he has been around for a few years releasing some dope singles, this is his first album. Crooked I is of course the cornerstone of Tha Row and is being looked at to bring the label back to prominence. The expectations should be high as he is not your average emcee, and he eats up mics like few others. Check for singles “Murderin’ MCs,” “Uh Oh,” and “Death Rizzo.”
