The signing comes after Second Round Knockout, a recent mixtape from the artist, sold a reported 13,000 copies. The mixtape spawned the single “I’m Toe Up,” which achieved significant airplay on Los Angeles’ Power 106 shortly thereafter, prompting Universal to offer the rapper a deal. This announcement comes after other songwriters, namely The Dream and Shawty Redd have agreed to deals elsewhere.
Of the announcement, Problem stated, “I’m here for the mainstay. It’s going to
be a problem for a long time.”
