Tyrese called out his The Fast and the Furious co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson over the weekend after learning of his plans to move forward with a spin-off film based on Johnson’s character Luke Hobbs.
On Tuesday (September 12), Tyrese explained his actions in a lengthy Instagram post and wrote about the love he has for his co-star.
“This is not a #Rant I’m no Rock #Hater and I don’t want his #Life,” he wrote. “I love my own……I’m doing this for the #FastFamily I’m loyal and I apologize for being loyal but dammit I am.”
This all kicked off on Sunday (September 10) after Tyrese commented on one of Johnson’s posts, calling out the Hollywood heavyweight for failing to respond to his text messages.
“If you move forward with that #Hobbs movie you will have purposely ignored my heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter,” he wrote. “I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about – I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages – #FastFamily is just that family…… We don’t fly solo.”
Following the April release of The Fate of the Furious (the eighth film in the franchise), reports suggested Universal was planning a spin-off project based on Johnson and co-star Jason Statham’s characters. It was also reported the movie could be made while the ninth installment of the franchise is being figured out.
Tyrese is seemingly concerned the spin-off film would conflict with the next installment in The Fast and the Furious movie series.
The Fate of the Furious reportedly made $1.2 billion dollars worldwide and is 2017’s seventh highest grossing movie (so far).
Translation- I’m really a hater and the only acting gigs I can get is only Fast Furious stuff and nobody checking for Black Ty music so let me get on social media and bitch about how The Rock is disloyal and btw he can pretty much beat my ass. I cant fault The Rock for making money moves but Tyrese is hating. Everyone can see that the spin off could hurt his wallet. I think this move is for the studio to get away from Vin Diesel. Tyrese should be asking for a part in the movie instead of being salty

Fast and furious franchise started to become played out imo, It was good when it was reality and then somewhere in the middle them mf turnt into the Avengers. When I seen ludacris fighting like he was bruce lee I couldn’t take it anymore. They dragging it out really bad and I guess rightfully so since it’s still making money. I feel like this movie with rock will be a mistake, with the exception of Fast and furious movies he starring in hasn’t done mega numbers at box office and they have been terrible dude is like 2 for 23 on his last 25 movies. I really thought he would have a lot of action classics by now. Walking tall and the movie when he had a daughter he didn’t know about was good. It’s seems like he contractually obligated to do any role they offer him. With all that said Tyresse always bitching about something. Should be trying to get Singleton to do a baby boy 2 or something especially now that Tarija has gain a lot of popularity. Vin diesel thought he was the man too they put out that Triple x movie and it didn’t do numbers at all.

Yea I feel what you saying, but if them numbers looking right I bet Taraji will rock with it, she doesn’t even make that much for Empire compared to what she should have been making Empire was either the highest or 2nd highest rated show on tv for like 2 years and she was only making like 80-90k per episode compared to other actors and actress on some other shows that are getting like 400-600k for shows that weren’t even close to Empire ratings, and now she is in that weird area, were she should be able to negotiate for a better contract but It’s almost too late because the ratings have drop pretty bad. So I think she would easily do it and she could also demand bonus based on certain success at the box office , it will be a cheap made movie that would easily make the return. Chris got paid like 15k for that first Friday, they never offered him enough for the second time around He was getting Like 15-20 million for Rush Hour Plus now they already butchered Friday so of course Chris wouldn’t do it now, baby has been on of those projects that has turn into a classic after it’s still played on cable tv, The Buzz would be crazy , and I’m sure she would have input on her character.
Maybe people like Vin disel and couple of others feel this way too, expressed it to tyrese and maybe he is speaking for others Idk just a assumption though You know Vin a little sour after XXX flop anyway, he prob can’t get any leading action roles anymore, Baywatch flop too though Fast and furious would be 10x better if they didn’t over do it, I promise in a minute we going to see

Yea if you adding it up worldwide, In this country it did 45 million, Studios don’t get much money internationally, they depend more on the domestic numbers. That’s a huge Flop, it couldn’t even crack 50 million, Jada pinkett girls trip did 100 million and Vin disel couldn’t crack 50 million come on that’s a flop.
