Tyler, The Creator Discusses Religious Views

Tyler, The Creator is always charismatic when doing interviews or just being caught being himself. Recently though the Odd Future rapper was asked about religion and Christianity and didn’t offer as much in the way of a formed opinion about it.

Speaking with Aktive LA backstage at a Jhene Aiko concert, Tyler says he doesn’t know about his faith and that he only believes that The Bible is an object and not necessarily the stories inside of it.

“It’s an actual thing, it’s an object so it’s not not to believe,” he said when asked whether he believes in The Bible. “Like I can pick it up ’cause it’s right there.” Tyler, The Creator also says he’s unsure whether either God or the devil exist.

“I’ve never met the dude, I have no idea,” he said. “I’ve seen a opossum, I’m afraid of a opossum.”

He admits he hasn’t read The Bible fully and that his opinion of it wouldn’t be valid until doing so. He also explains that if he did see God, he might change his mind.

    1. Tyler the Creator grew up like a lot of people that never knew their father. Therefore, he never knew God. Some people hate their father, so they hate God. The stories in the bible were based on true stories, but they got translated and edited many times. The real explicit bible stories are pretty cool. Church has nothing to do with Jesus or the bible now. It’s about family, friends, praying and blind faith. People go because they are afraid of dying, they want to make their parents happy and it makes them feel good about doing nothing.

      1. I know plenty of athiests and agnosticis who have their father’s in their lives and they hate god and religion. You sound stupid as fuck saying that bs. Plus it’s plenty of fatherless men who love God too. The stories in the bible are allegorical and not literally true. But I agree about the current state of church tho.

      1. I think Lord Jamar is racist and homophobic. Then again white people act like bitches unless you have money or power. Also who really wants gay people around their children? Who trusts gay people when they are attracted to men? Who respects gay people when they pretend to be women?

      2. You’re noticing that gay people are having a negative influence on women, but you forgot the other problems of society such as damaged goods slu t ty women. Oh but you don’t mind that as long as you get your di ck su cked. But a gay person can do nothing for you so you can’t ignore his crime. Hypocrite. If you wanna talk about gay people then make sure you talk about ALL the people doing wrong in society.

      3. Previously in your comments you stated “Also who really wants gay people around their children? Who trusts gay people when they are attracted to men? Who respects gay people when they pretend to be women?” This statement is utterly biased and homophobic. Not only that but you fail to recognize the difference between a homosexual and transgender person in your ending statement. Your entire opinion on Lord Jamar is extremely hypocritical, hence your opening sentence, “I think Lord Jamar is racist and homophobic.” and furthermore your opinion, “Then again white people act like bitches unless you have money or power.” appears to also be just a biased but also, extremely racist.

    2. Has Tyler the creator ever talked to a pastor in his life? He has to get a touch and become healed and delivered so then he will believe and have faith.

    3. In this months edition we got a hold of Tyler sharing his view on religion folks. Its truly an inspiring and educated interview. Here is the interview in full:Journalist:”Whats your take on religion?” Tyler:”I havent read the bible so i dont really have an opinion on it”

    4. Yet he put upside down crosses all over his odd future apparel and hats? Kinda an odd thing to if he doesn’t have “strong opinions” about God. Attacking God is a weird way to not have strong opinions. OF clothing is what I call “evil hidden in plain sight.” Very odd indeed.

      1. Dude, that was the whole point of Odd Future? It was supposed to piss off white pretentious Christians, old people, and whatnot. They were all teenagers venting on their music here and there, and in reality they have NEVER done half the shit they say, also Frank Ocean is a Christian… I don’t think they worship the devil dude..
