Tyler, The Creator has said one of the “top four” coolest moments of his career was nearly ruined by Diddy’s son, who tried to flex alongside Tyler’s BMW on Instagram.

The Igor rapper sat down with the Rap Radar Podcast to reflect back on his career and the state of the game, and as the episode wrapped decided to share a fun story about his experience attending JAY-Z’sRoc Nation Brunch this past February.

“Illest part of the Roc Nation Brunch, I went for three reasons. I always wanted to go just ’cause I never went,” Tyler said. “Two, I was curious what food they had there. And three, I wanted to see how many times I could be called ‘king.’ I counted nine.

“And the illest part is Jay let me park my BMW right in the front. Everybody else had to shuttle. He let me park it right in front in the hills. Probably top four moments I’ve ever felt cool. Like, the textbook cool.”

He continued: “My homie sent me two weeks ago Christian Combs’ Instagram and these motherfuckers had a photo shoot with my car in front of the God damn Roc Nation! And I saw Christian last night and I shoulda told him, ‘N-gga, don’t sit on my God damn car!’ I like Christian, I’m just saying, but that was ill.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Tyler tore apart G.O.A.T. debates in Hip Hop and stated that Top 5 lists don’t matter because music is subjective.

“Bro, who gives a fuck?” he said. “You know what annoys me is when people are like, ‘This is my Top 5…’ and you got 17-year-olds like, ‘Yeah, fucking Ready To Die and Enter the Wu-Tang is my favorite Top 10 album ever.’ Like, bro, you just got hair on your dick.”

He added: “I don’t care about no objective top. The kids be doing it with me. They do a tier list of A,B,C,D of the albums they like of me and then ask people thoughts. You’re asking people their thoughts on what you hold to your heart? What kind of stupid shit is that.

“That’s why I fucking hate Rap Twitter. Everything is performative, everyone is making these lists just to have people engage. Who gives a fuck who the Top 3 is?”

He also spoke about NBA YoungBoy, who despite the menacing persona he portrays in his music, is actually a “sweetheart,” according to Tyler.

“Man, he’s so nice. He’s such a sweetheart,” the Grammy-winner said about working with YoungBoy on “WUSYANAME.” “He’s really a sweetheart. People think he’s like … Dude, we got ice cream, he wanted to go vintage car shopping. He sent me that verse within a day. I asked him like, ‘Yo, I got this idea. Want to do this?’

“Not only did he deliver it for me and sounded great, he asked me, ‘Is this okay? Is it good?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah!’ And he stayed on topic. You get a lot of these guys now who just punch in and can’t stay on fucking topic of a song.”

He added: “When I made that, I just knew I wanted that Louisiana drawl, tone, that accent over that loop. He sounds great.”
