Grammy Award-winning rapper-extraordinaire Tyler, The Creator just went gold twice in the same day.
On Tuesday (February 22), the Los Angeles native earned a pair of gold certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his 2021 CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST album, and its lead “WUSYANAME” single featuring NBA YoungBoy and Ty Dolla $ign. Last year, HipHopDX awarded Tyler, The Creator with the Album Of The Year crown over artists such as Playboi Carti, Isaiah Rashad, Vince Staples and Dave.
Tyler, The Creator also secured the win for Best Hip Hop Song at the DX Hip Hop Awards for “WUSYANAME” last year.
There were also several other major certifications Tyler, The Creator earned from the RIAA in 2021 including a platinum certification for his 2019 IGOR album and a string of platinum certifications for singles such as his fan-beloved “EARFQUAKE” and Kali Uchis-assisted “See You Again,” among others.
Tyler, The Creator’s listeners will have several chances in 2022 to see him perform his hits live at festivals such as the 10th anniversary BUKU Art Project festival in New Orleans in March and Wireless Fest in the U.K. in July.

Gold used to be the minimum and if your shit didn’t go gold within a few weeks it was a flop. Streaming services messed up the whole game. Would love for these artists to be independent and just release their shit on their website or physical copies or something. I would rather pay $10-15 for music I like than 12.99 a month for access to music i dont care about provided by a company that pays the artists next to nothing. I don’t like Tyler either so I’m not surprised it took a minute to go gold, but it took even longer because of the music structure nowadays.
